Oh, what memories that wall lamp holder brought back! My daddy made so many of those in the 70s and 80s.❤️He always wrote his name on the back with an engraver. Even the color and how the one you found was routed around the edge, made me think of how he did his. Enjoy! It will look wonderful in your home!

You know that angers me too,I am a faithful Goodwill shopper and I donate all the time!! But when they act like they can't give you a few dollars off from something is wrong,my goodness they are getting the stuff for free so it wouldn't hurt to give us a little dicount once in awhile plus they're prices are starting to get ridiculous!!!
I’m guessing that the manager, thought you were a reseller. I am personally against reselling (I live in the 4th poorest state and I see poverty everyday, 1st hand) but the manager shouldn’t judge anyone who comes in the store.
It is sad that the thrift stores aren't used for what they started out to be. And that is nice, affordable things for poorer people, like me. I watch some who resell, and they pick something up for a few dollars and sell it in their shop for $50 to $100. It's a shame.

Almost 3 weeks later it’s aftermath dominates our world and all of us in its path are taking it a day at a time, working towards something close normal as we knew it.

Things I picked up a few years ago are now out of my price range. Still a lot of good prices, though, at most garage and yard sales.
Julie today I was at our local goodwill in Virginia with my mom and she found an oil lamp holder similar to this one for $3.99!!! She said she knew what is was because we’d recently watched this video! She was so excited to show me as I just bought an electrified oil lamp last weekend at another thrift store!! I wish I could send you a picture… it’s wood and has a mirror behind an oil lamp silhouette cut out in the wood. Needless to say it was our find of the day and it came home with me! I live in North Florida and I’m asking everyone to please remember our South Florida towns in your prayers it’s so bad down there.
We dodged the bullet in Northeast FL where I live. I have a good friend in FT Myers that lived just 25 miles where the eye came in. She put a message on FB yesterday that their fine. So thankful to God for spearing them. That storm almost destroyed everything in their area. The road to Sanabel Bch was destroyed. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in south FL.

I don’t mind shopping but I hate carrying all that stuff in!! By the time I carry it all in, I sm sweating and I am exhausted amd can’t make myself do another thing after it is all put away. Did I mention I am 74 years old and have to go up snd down 6 steep steps to get in my back door? .My cuts love it cuz they lay in my lap as I am catching my breath, cooling off and falling asleep!

I neve ask a thrift store for any kind of a discount but I do at yard sales. Also when I purchase old books I bring them home and put them in a zip lock bag and stick them in the freezer for about a month. Kills anything including mold.

Hi Julie, when and if you find a mandolin make sure that it has a safety feature that prevents your fingers from being cut. I use to work in food service in a middle school and one day one of the ladies brought in her mandolin to show us how it worked. Well it didn't have a safety feature and she ended up cutting three of her fingers. I think of her every time I happen to see a mandolin at our Goodwill store. I really enjoy your Vlog videos. I hope that you continue to do them.

I even saw you husband working in the house at 8:30pm. I am glad his friends are okay. We have family and friends in Florida, and they are fine after Hurricane Ian. We have family in Puerto Rico and they are fine after hurricane Fiona. One of my friends that know me since I was a little girl move from Kissimmee to St. Cloud. I’m not sure if the slats come out for cleaning. Do you have a way to keep the tallow from smelling unpleasant? If you choose to share the process, it would be interesting.

Hello Julie! The manager was rude! I enjoyed your Goodwill Home Decor Thrift shopping VLOG. Seen Elizabeth and enjoying her milkshake from Sonic. Seen the baby chick. I love the serving white bowl. I even saw you husband working in the house at 8:30pm. I am glad his friends are okay. We have family and friends in Florida, and they are fine after Hurricane Ian. We have family in Puerto Rico and they are fine after hurricane Fiona. One of my friends that know me since I was a little girl move from Kissimmee to St. Cloud. I am glad because she only had 2 days with no electricity and in Kissimmee it looks terrible. Take care. Blessings. 🌺

The wood box with numbered slots is a bill sorter, put bills in slot day to be paid.
That middle chick is huge, What a good deal on that Lamp hanger. You passed up the sunflower Wexford jar. I would find a lid!! ... goodwill is getting a little too big for their pants.

the box with the numbered slots is a bill sorter- you place the bill in the slot dated for the day you need to pay the bill. DC
I use a small electric meat slicer to slice carrots, squash, zucchini and similar items.

Question & Answer: It’s a sorter for each day’s bills, receipts, birthday cards, etc- very handy. Unfortunately for Cleaners, they get dusty inside. I’m not sure if the slats come out for cleaning.
Do you have a way to keep the tallow from smelling unpleasant? If you choose to share the process, it would be interesting.
