jay and Manny
modern family
“I know I’m not Manny’s real dad, but I don’t like getting the reminder.” 😭💕
That part!!! Omg
Jay was Manny's father infinitely more than his sperm donor was.
“REAL” Dad ain’t always relative.😉
Watched this episode last night. As a stepdad myself I completely agree with him.
I guess the one of the many reasons why Mitchell & especially Claire is salty about Jay marrying Gloria and accepting Manny is because Gloria & Manny & eventually Joe got the version of Jay they wish they had grown up with.
But he only was able to become that version because they showed him the flaws of his fatherhood with them, and he didn’t want to mess it up again
@@kingMadnuskinda hurts to know you werena training ground to become a great dad for someone else. If before they were likeb"well, thats just how dad is, nothing can be done about that" then after they were like "so you CAN be a great dad, then why tf couldn't you be like that FOR US? '
@@user-pm3wk6lw6m it's also about how the mother helps the dad in becoming a better dad. Considering his first wife's personality, that seemed a fat chance .
I mean they were salty at the beginning, but they learn to move on from that.
@@kingMadnus Also the fact that they were financially struggling didn’t help his fatherhood, he had to work a lot to be able to provide for his family back then, now he has the time and energy to be a better father
"mom says we don't use the word step because it implies we aren't a real family" ... Manny said something like that within the first few episodes
piss off with your analogy what we supposed to do with this info
I been that kid on the curb and now I am stepdad just being there
His loss man. The world needs men like you ,❤️
So you took the place of another man and tried to raise his kid that's kind of messed up.
@@laylaluann9541 He said he's a stepdad just being there , he never took anyone's place , I think that ignorant idiotic comment you made is messed up.
@@laylaluann9541 being the father to his kids when he completely blow them off
Is messed up?

That first scene always makes me tear up because even though Jay and Manny’s relationship wasn’t all that close yet, he was selfless enough not ruin Manny’s perception of his dad despite how terrible he was. I know what’s it like to feel abandoned by a father and as a kid you tend to blame yourself for your father not “liking you” as I used to think. It’s one of my favorite scenes because even if manny and jay might have not seen eye to eye, jay always protected manny.
Jay is an old man already =)))) he knows better than doing the petty thing 😂😂😂
My siblings and I spent many hours waiting on the curb waiting on a dad who showed up 10% of the time too. It sucks. I make sure to never let my nieces and nephews down like that since their dad is out of the picture.
when jay’s voice cracks up saying “we really are you know, we’re a family”. dude i have never watched this clip without tearing up.
He isn’t perfect by any means but I truly believe Jay Pritchett is the best TV Dad of all time.
some would argue that he’s not even the best dad on that show.
AL bundy is
After phil dunphy? Yes for sure
I agree. Al Bundy wasn't rich, had a crappy job, an ungrateful family and still cared about them every day.
? Joe West . Jesse L Martin
"You're not Javier, you're not this guy you're you and what you are is amazing. And for the record, I've been your dad since you were 10, and I'm going to be your dad until I'm gone. I love you and i always will" 😢 😭😭❤️
I cried when Manny drove the forklift through the wall so Jay fired the worker and called Manny his kid 😭
“anyone who puts my kid in danger, doesn’t get a second chance”
1:14 “Yeah he’s a prince” we know what he really wanted to say 🤣
1:52 Jay IS his dad!
Jay isn't the best in expressing his love, but he sure loves his family so muuuch and he triiiiies ❤
He's played two great family men in his tv career. They weren't perfect, but at the end of the day, they were always there.
Hell you could argue this is the universe where everything did go right for Al
I mean the point of the first one was that he wasn’t and to poke fun of nuclear families. Like he wasn’t suppose to be a good dad but he’s stuck with them
Like the old saying goes - Jay is not the stepdad but the dad that stepped up.
I love jay and Manny he like a dad to Manny and joe
Well he is Joe's dad
My mum had a longtime boyfriend, I loved him like he was my own father and he loved me like I was his own daughter. Even though they broke up last year and it was none of my business, he was still the closest father figure I had.
I hope you still get to see each other
"you're a man now power through!" 😂😂
Best advice there is
Jay may look cold hearted to most people but he has a good heart.
Lmao that guy at the end was like hmm I can come back later 😂
Many saying “I’ll try to make you proud” just made me cry so bad 😭
He’s the dad who stepped up
1:49 that killed me 🥺
Just the sight of little cutie Manny sitting on that curb.. Is the story of so many innocent kods.. And their hearts being broken.
He may have been your father boy, but wasn't your daddy ~Yondu
The real dad
As a kid who was raised by a stepfather and a guy who is now a stepfather this really hit me in a good place. 🙂
Jay was a really great step dad
“I know I’m not mannys real dad, maybe I don’t like the reminder” oh my god I felt that so much, I love my step son soooo much whenever me and his mother have children together I’m always gonna consider his at my own
I love this family ❤, he is the best Daddy on the world 🌎, wish to have one like him 🥰
Beautiful ❤, not the father he wanted but the one he deserves 😢
I wish he was like that to Claire and Mitch growing up
That's why he is the way he is now. Jay talks about how he regrets not being there when the kids were young cuz he was always working
He WAS like this, he just couldn’t show it because he permanently had to work. And when he got home he had dede waiting for him.
The show *is* about him becoming the dad he should've been
0:28
THATS SO SAD 😭
1:28
💕💕💕💕
Cried my eyes out but the episode where Manny sends his college video in and Jay cries at the end.
The actions of a “real” man if there ever was one 😅
Modern Family is like an alternative world where Al Bundy never met Peg and came out a winner
He’s not just a step dad he’s the dad that stepped up.
Jay loved him so much but he has a tough personality
cmon, he was raising him since he was a child. thats being a dad, doesnt matter the blood :) we all know.
I can relate to this kinda, my parents got divorced when I was around 6 and my brother was 3 and my sister was just a baby, me and my brother visited him a lot, but it was kind of hard to bring my sister along and so my sister kind of went through her childhood without a Dad, of course she did start coming with us to visit him, so she did get to spend time with our Dad and had some proper moments with him and the three of us have a pretty healthy relationship with him, but my sister never really had a Dad who was always around, but then a little while after I turned 17, my Mum started dating her current partner Mark, who had always wanted a daughter and Mark just became a Dad to my sister, and I will always be grateful to Mark for taking my sister and the rest of us under his wing, to the point where he sees and considers us as his children.
Quick note: My Dad is a great guy, it just didn’t work out with my Mum and he had a job abroad so he lives abroad, he wants to be in our lives as much as possible, but it difficult, but he’s happy that someone is taking care of us when he can’t
Love this duo ❤
I wish my step mom was this nice. Instead all she did was plot my downfall like a stupid cliché.
are you sure you are not cinderella?
@@jukkininth4837 haha, I wish. No Prince Charming for me, just long hours of work and the occasional RUclips breaks.
@@wintersbabyy your prince charming is lost in the woods or something. big cities dont have castle that much.

He made up for how badly he treated Bud 😂
....and Kelly. Sure, she was pretty, but dumb as a sack.
Jay is the best character💙,
Manny is lucky to have a stepdad like Jay
1:48 😢😢😢
Javier might be Mannys father but jay is his dad. Only real man can be a dad.
Yondu said it best. Just cause a man is your father, doesn’t mean he’s your daddy. Jay was Manny’s daddy! 🥲
Love all these moments but I'm kinda annoyed the scene with them two talking in the car wasn't included. When Manny doesn't want to go to camp cos he's embarrassed and Jay just wanted to hear the real reason why he didn't want to go
Jay was a prince even with the older 2 where he was less evolved he really did his best and showed up in the only way he knew how to at the time
Not a step dad
He’s a dad who stepped up
No. This is Jay being a great DAD to Manny.
Jay was a great step dad to manny
Al Bundy is a great dad.To all his kids
You’re a man now power through!😂

The fucking thumbnail
what about the breakup scene?
It takes a *REAL MAN* to lie to a kid like that to make him feel good. 'Cause it's not about the adults and what their problems are...it's about taking care of the kids and their well-being. When they grow up a little more and have a better understanding of the real world, then you can ease them in with all the truths and crap...in saying that, Id have told him the truth about his dad and said I'm taking you and your mom to Disneyland😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Youre a man now, power through it lol
heart:)
I know that it's supposed to be nice that Jay is a true father to Manny, but in reality, it's not. Jay wasn't a good father to Claire and Mitch even though they're his real kids and yet he becomes this compassionate father to his young wife's son. That is agonising to the real kids.
My dad was never affectionate to me nor my siblings, but he is this great dad to his wife's daughter, he even paid for her college and that just killed me. His wife just like Gloria was a gold digger and as a result, she and her daughter are living a life I couldn't even dream of. I hate them! They swept in after all the hardships and reaped the rewards that should have by all accounts been mine and my mother's.
This show really triggers me.
If you relate real life experiences to a show, it will trigger you
Take care❤
Dude you need therapy
