bees love those flowers. Don't water them, unless you want a huge tree, I have several that are 25 years old and only about 12 foot tall because I NEVER water them. I use them to to provide privacy. I also pruned off the lower branches and have Ice plant under them. No IVY as a ground cover. IVY attracts mice and other critters. I live in the SF bay area, termite territory, but have never found termites near them.
Wow thank you for the great information 👍
It's definitely Schinus Molle. It's called California Pepper Tree for a reason. Although it isn't native here, like Eucalyptus it has adapted well here. We have lots of them here in Northern California and the Schinus areira isn't grown here at all, not even available as far as I know.
Storm has stripped all leaves off huge p"corn. Will it re-leaf?
I have a year old Pepper tree and it is so sparse I keep thinking it is dying. Should it have a lot of foliage all year long?
Is there a such thing as a pepper tree greenhouse?
Yea I would also like to know if the peppercorns are edible and safe
Lots of these in Australia & we eat the "fruit" when ripe they are pink and make a great additive to variegated pepper grinders
Can u use lt for bbk????
Jeff are these peppercorn edible? Can we use them as spice?
they look like mesquites too.
Are the peppercorns safe? edible? Thank you. Ed Las Vegas
I wondered the same thing as my elderly neighbors have one. The peppercorns actually smell like pepper but I didn’t taste them. Neither has my neighbors.
@@tlims1974a they are edible & when ripe are pink coloured mild compared to black pepper
I think that it is Schinus areira,no Schinus molle.Areira from Peru,Bolivia and Molle from Argentina,Uruguay.
I usually love trees but I really hate this one ❗They have them at my apartment complex and they are horrible❗The leaves stink and the berries really stink and are sticky creating a huge mess on the parking area. The wild turkeys around here seem to like them so they're often on top of our cars peckin away. So, besides all the stink and stickiness on our cars we got turkey sratching up our cars well. This was a real stupid choice of tree to plant in this location❗ Who cares if they're drought resistant, fast growing, shade producing❗They create pest infestations and are toxic to alot of critters.
