I recently noticed that whenever I have behaved irrationally at work, it is because I have felt worried about getting into trouble. For example, someone in my team misses a deadline and I overreact, because I think this will have consequences for me. This is how it was as a child. The discipline was sometimes harsh and often inconconstent, resulting in me constantly being fearful of getting into trouble for minor or harmless things. It is hard for me to see these things at work in perspective.
1:18 I just had a thought and I wanted to know what you thought about it.. do you think we also re-create this dynamic in our friend group as well? And do you think it’s related to like comfort or survival?
How does your upbringing show up in your workplace?
People pleasing, overworking to prove that I'm enough & to get approval (love) and feeling like I'm worth less than others! Thank you for your videos!
This is 💯 why my career stalled out.
Acting like the Big Brother to everyone and taking care of everyone
