- I know people have been wanting to see this one so here you go! I really like it. I’ll be using this for awhile to keep testing if the cap seals well. If it does this will be a top performer for magnetic caps and a great addition to the diplomat line!
For those that want to purchase it here is my discount code and links below :)

Diplomat nailed it; they make great steel nibs; they should offer an upgrade option, exchange the steel nib for a gold one later. Great review.
I don’t know how much the price would go up. But I feel like a gold nib would put this in a high echelon of pens. It’s really nice for the price currently. And if they could get a gold nib on here and keep it under 180. I think you’d have, a top-tier pen to compete with the other high end ones
My experience with diplomat gold nibs is that they are not worth the price, their steel nibs are already great
Very nice review. Love the pen too. I'd love to have this with an architect nib for printing.
Architect would be crazy nice. You would probably need to start with a bigger nib size to get a good one but it would be mad nice.
Huh. Yeah, I guess "guilloche" sounds fancier than "knurled". I love the pen, though.
I like the smooth end without the knurling. Having used a fountain pen, as a teenager, that had a thread where your first knuckle sits under the pen, it was painful after a while. I like the look here.
By the way, if it is French, Guilloche is pronounced 'gee-yosh'. It refers to the cross-patterned engraving.
Thanks for the review.
@@impulsesystems I tried saying it right. I’m always learning how to pronounce better lol
It looks like under the hood (ha!) it is the same nib as the diplomat aero, which is great. Also, if you like the matte metal feel and the magnetic cap, the Aero seems to be made for you.
I will buy one eventually I want that goulet brown one that dropped just expensive
@@WastedPaper brown pens really are your thing are they? I have the green one, but I love the orange one. Maybe they will make a purple one?
@@WastedPaper for a brown aero Diplomat also makes one from oxidized brass, you might like it. I saw it on their website, no idea where to buy it though
@@doriansoergel8160 I just think the gold and brown on that looks so distinguished! I do want one. I love purples for sure
@@doriansoergel8160Appelboom has the oxyd brass
I like the thumbnail for this video. Good job on the review, lots of good info!
Thank you 😭 I’m trying hard out here.
Great review! Sounds like you'd classify it more on the fine side of nibs? In comparison to western nibs. I ask because I prefer mediums that are on the broader side of the spectrum, afraid this would be a little too fine for my taste.
@@mattswanson79 if you have a lamy 2000. It is more broad then my Fine nib on 2000. But not by much
@WastedPaper I do, actually have the 2000 in fine and medium. I think i could work with that being a little more broad than their fine. Thanks for the reply! Just found your channel, new sub, love the content! Keep it up!
@@mattswanson79thank you! If you want I can do a line comparison after I get off work so you can see difference
@WastedPaper ya know, i would love that! But, by no means don't go out of your way for one guy. Only if you've a spare time (who has that? Especially you content creators! 😅).
@@mattswanson79 no problem. I got you I’ll hit you up after work
