3:09 You can only active Xavier at sorcery speed (when stack is empty). But i love the idea of him as my commander. It's a Jace and his love interests (Vraska and Liliana) superfriends deck.
@@crisgon9552you are 100% correct, while on your turn a card like intruder alarm can help combo, on other people’s turns it’s just useful to untap him snd allow him to be a blocker to protect our walkers. I love you Jace and his love interest deck idea! Perfect colors for it, and all of those planeswalkers have good cards that could make the deck powerful, and not just a meme deck! I would love to your deck list if you have one!
@@TopDecking101 Your video actually introduced me to Xavier. So many new cards are coming out it's hard to keep up! No deck list yet but I plan on making it as yank as possible but still powerful. Lot of my friends play super casual. Thank you for the idea and I hope I get around to making the deck. Jace and Liliana are some of my favorite walkers.
@@crisgon9552 oh well I’m super glad my video introduced you to Xavier. One of my favorites just due to his super unique abilities, have fun building your deck!
Gilanra + Tevesh is also a neat Superfriends combo. If you run all the 1-drop dorks, you can get Tevesh Szat out turn 3 and start popping out his 0/1s as additional chaff blockers to help block the amount of aggro thrown your way. Lots of Golgari walkers are also 6+ mana and would make you draw a card with Gilanra.
Xavier is one of my favorite decks I have. A card from MH3 is Basking Broodscale, does pretty much everything Scurry Oak does, and is a nice way to get multiple of the same effect the deck.
Hey, I'd love to see a breakdown of Leori! I've been working on a Leori deck that uses the Kenriths, because the dual faced walker can be either and the walker that is Will and Rowan are both efficient ways to have multiple of the same walker.
How exactly does Saruman himself help protect the planeswalkers? The army is only a singular token which can only protect a singular planeswalker from a singular creature. Nothing Saruman does really helps protect anything, everything else is just grixis goodstuff, which while good, wasn't really what this video was about. The other two were really interesting though, and I'll especially give Xavier some thought! Sisay isn't a particularly unique commander, but I haven't seen a superfriends sisay before!
Saruman as a card does not protect planeswalkers well, but I liked it as an interesting commander that I had to work to make functional. I originally planned for Ovika, Enigma Goliath to be the final commander I talked about, but it being seven mana really slowed down the decks game-plan, and lead to alot of non games if it got removed. I would say you are correct, Saruman is definitely the weakest of my recommendations. I wish I would have mentioned other cards like the third path iconoclast and other token generators I had in the deck, but didn’t want the video to run super long. Thank you so much for your feedback! Glad you enjoyed the other two commanders!
I was going for commanders with unique effects, not ones that were underused. That’s why I included Xavier, even though he’s one of the most popular superfriends commanders. Hope that makes the video more clear 👍
Yeah I love the video man but you can’t tap Xavier at instant speed. Literally says so on the card. Makes intruder alarm not as powerful unless you give him the ability to tap at instant speed
That’s very true. While Xavier can only tap at sorcery speed, I still think a card like intruder alarm is very useful in the deck for max proliferation. Good catch, thanks for the correction! 👍

Oooo I really like that! Gilanra and Tevesh give really good ways to protect our planeswalkers and ramp to cast them. What an awesome synergy!

Ooohh that’s an awesome deck concept! I’ll have to give Leori a look and make a video breaking down the deck! Would love to see your deck list for it

Fantastic vid dude! Really solid scripting.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words
Sarumon with Proliferate cards could be good, as it means all your Planeswalkers get loyalty AND that Orc Army that's around gets bigger
That’s a great idea! Boost our planeswalkers and our armies. Great suggestion!
Nice video
