    The toss.
    The position.
    What serve started with.
    What serve on the big points.
    What served warmed up with.
    Position yourself to influence what serve is thrown.

    No opponent can read my serve, because even I don't know where I serve 😂

    Great stuff. I really value the mental aspects. Everybody on RUclips does stroke mechanics.

    ha, "they had me". The number of times I've heard that after I poach and my opponent misses down the line. Nice to hear you point out the very clear truth "no, they didn't, they missed."

    I love the game within the game… While taking serve warmups I hit up the T, wide, and into the body; flat and kicker. I want the receiver to know I have all those serves. Gotta keep him guessing. I also try to toss the ball to the same spot, if I let it drop it should land 6”-8” directly in front of my lead foot and 6”-8” wide of that mark. Another way to say that is I toss it to about 1:30 and 6”-8” in front of the baseline. On my very first service game I just try to get a lot of first serves in. That may mean hitting with only 80% power or using a harder 2nd serve. The key is to get into a good groove with lots of first serves going in… Then the fun begins. I view serving like a pitcher. If my good stuff is working I just keep hammering it. If not then I constantly change things up with direction and pace. I love serving!

    Stokke lessons are very good, but I had to crack up on this one as it relates to me. Almost no one in my tennis groups has a clue where their serve is going, so it's as much a mystery to them as it is to me where it's going. We still have fun, though. 🙂

      @@StokkeTennis Yeah, practice, man. No one does it. I'm lucky. I've lived in complexes that have courts since 2014. $35 metal pickup bin from Walmart and $10 for 18 practice balls (buy 2 packs) and you're ready to learn how to aim your serve all on your own. If you want to get fancy, get a $12 54-inch tall tripod for your phone, and video your technique. Then watch Stokke videos for tips and you're on your way to serve dominance (at least at your level) LOL!!!

    First point or two I'll invite them to hit the wide serves and when they can't I just stand more central from then on

    @StokkeTennis my first two serves are always kick to the backhand. I hope my opponents watch this after I play them

      @@daftroses why do you start with that?

    • @daftroses
      @daftroses 3 месяца назад

      @@StokkeTennis I like the high margin when the points are tight, and getting more reps on my second serve at the beginning of the match I hope gets me the confidence to go bigger and get up more after my first serve after my second service game. I also love angling the kick off the court and I'm trying to see if my opponent adjust their return position by moving closer to the baseline, or off the baseline towards the fence, and I'll go slider wide for the next serve if they're closer to the fence and slice body if they're closer to the baseline.
