i've never been a fan of dual-ended brushes because i like to store mine in cup-type containers, and i can't do that without smooshing one end lol. actually pretty interested in that milani blush because i am pale and i just like a hint of color. and i love a shimmery blush! i hope they have cool-tones.
Hey Kelly! Could you do a video on expiry/expiration dates and makeup? How are they decided? How important are they? So, if a palette has a shelf life of 12 months, do companies discard their inventory? Because I see products that have been out for more than their shelf life still on their website. What about the products that make it to TJ Maxx and Marshalls? I'd love to know more about this. Personally, I do throw out cremes/liquids after their date, but keep powders forever!
The length of time shown in the little open jar symbol on the packaging is from opening. For a palette that says 12m, if you opened it today, it's recommended that you toss it next February. However, if you bought it now and didn't open it until next year, it would still be completely fine. Companies that have products that have been around for ages produce them in batches, not only at the initial release. For example, Tarte's Shape Tape Concealer. They continue to produce it; the tubes currently available for sale were not produced in 2016 when Tarte released it. As far as TJ Maxx and Marshall's, those should also still be fine so long as they haven't been opened, although I know that can be hit or miss at those retailers. I do not know the scientific information behind expiration dates, but for moist products with applicators that touch your skin, I personally think they are more important, especially your eyes or mouth. Bacteria tend to do better in wet vs dry places, so that's why I use palettes past expiration, and because usually a brush is touching the palette momentarily then your face, and repeat; mascara wands touch your face and then sit in the product until the next use when it's removed for a few seconds.TBH, I use mascaras until they dry out which is usually 6-9 months (I only have one black and one brown open at a time), but my oldest palette is definitely a couple years old lol. Sorry this is so long! Just wanted to share some info in case Kelly doesn't see this :)
One other thing to add- if you have a product that says 6 or 12 or whatever amount of months, and you open it, but in that period of time, the expiration date comes round (if it has one labeled) then you should get rid of it, even if it hasn't been open for that long. I think this is especially important for sunscreens because they will become less effective.
100%, if you are wearing a product that contains SPF and want the sun protection benefits, do not use it after the expiration. But if you aren’t using it for sun protection, it’s fine to use. From everything I’ve read, I generally throw away any sunscreen after it expires, regardless of when it did, because there’s no way to know how effective it still is.
Hey Kelly, the new Essence blush in Cool Coral is incredibly pretty!! I highly recommend it as I think it's the best shade of this new blush line. I also have the Goldy Cassis shade which I also love but the Cool Coral is my favorite!
I bought the Essence pure nude blush in Cool Coral and I think you would like it. Definitely pass along the one you have and get a shade you like better because they are so good! They deserve to be well loved 🥰
Love the hair and you look so beautiful. I have had side swept bangs and I have curly hair. I wanted to make sure I didn’t have to straighten my bangs.I have never used heat products on my hair.I’ve been thinking about getting bangs again. I so appreciate your honesty about the Persona brushes.
The Inky List makes a great affordable eye cream with caffeine in the squeeze tube packaging. It doesn’t have niacinimide, but my moisturizer does so I just take that up around my eyes as well. I use it for daytime and it’s very de-puffing!
I've been picking up packages of BH Cosmetics brushes at TJMaxx lately for only $7-$10 per package, each including like 10 different brushes. And even if only 4 or 5 of those brushes are something I will like and use it is still worth it. I usually put the ones that I don't think I need or would use aside and then give away to friends.
I love your bangs so much!! I wish I could still have bangs again, I had them for years but they were not good! So thankful I found a hairstylist who explained to me that I have a strong “cow lick” at the front of my hair, which is why my bangs would always part in the middle, no matter how I styled them. Some people can pull off the separating bangs look - sadly I could not lol
I'm on 0.01% tretinoin and what I find really helps with the peeling is using the cerave night cream mixed with the ordinary rosehip seed oil. Also, I used to get little bumps on my forehead too (even with the tretinoin) but I SWEAR the ordinary rosehip seed oil does something to make them go away
What I hated most about having bangs is I couldn't just blow dry my hair upside down (to give it more volume) - it would make the bangs stand upright, lol
I love your bangs but I may be biased; I’ve had bangs for almost my whole life 🤣 I will say that the easiest way for me to style them is to just kinda do the curl with my flat iron; I have a Chi with the rounded edges. Also I sometimes do a little spritz of dry shampoo if I think they look a little stringy. It helps a lot!
I love your bangs!😍 They are not thick, so you won't have the annoying stage of growing them out if you didn't want it anymore. I had a really thick fringe years ago and it felt like forever to grow it out. You have a great Friday and weekend ahead. 🙂
Pacifica has a vegan ceramide eye cream in pretty much the exact same packaging as that Kopari one, and it's also pretty lightweight while being moisturizing. I don't think it does a whole lot more than a moisturizer would with the same ingredients, but just in case anyone was wanting something with that kind of packaging for cheaper!
The bangs are great and you are serving some Brigitte Bardot realness right now. Edit: Re: Lotte London: as someone who recently drew hearts onto her cheeks for a video, I actually really like the idea of basically having a heart stamp around. I would definitely use the cheeky kiss in that way. From what I've seen just looking it up, it blends out quite nicely on the cheek as well

I wish at some point we will get cruelty free natural hair brushes although that’s literally impossible since natural hair brushes are still tested on animals cuz I’ve heard natural hair brushes are better for picking up pigmentations more than synthetic hair brushes
That Drunk Elephant product is $68!!!! No, thank you. Not in this economy. I’ll stick with the ordinary!! I could buy their azelaic acid and salicylic acid for much cheaper.
Azelaic acid is not an exfoliant but a tyrosinase inhibitor, which means it reduces hyperpigmentation, it has antioxidant benefits and also anti inflammatory benefits
@@KellyGooch The benefits you are seeing ar from these mechanisms of action: "Azelaic acid is a competitive inhibitor of mitochondrial oxidoreductases and of 5 alpha-reductase, inhibiting the conversion of testosterone to 5-dehydrotestosterone. It also possesses bacteriostatic activity to both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria including Propionibacterium acnes. Azelaic acid is an anti-keratinizing agent, displaying antiproliferative cytostatic effects on keratinocytes and modulating the early and terminal phases of epidermal differentiation."
Essence is so disappointing with their shade ranges. There should be no excuse for a brand to not have inclusivity. It’s not 1960, like come on!! Are you forreal
Fastest oxidizing foundation I've tested. I didn't ask for a self Tanner but I've turned orange in less than 10 minutes. Even if their foundation is cheap I felt robbed.

You are so cute, Kelly. You were cracking me up about the flaky skin boogers. As for products, whatever Vit C was in that eye cream is long degraded after having it in an open tub like that. Basically worthless ingredient. Especially at that price!
IMHO, the shimmers in Milani wine down palette are really bad! Avoid. I have the Essence Rosy rosewood blush and it is a satin finish. I expected shimmer. Not bad, I was just hoping for more. I was going to try another shade and then I thought, no I just need to focus on using my Laura Geller and Hourglass shimmer blushes.
Just a suspicion since they once had the Jordana line, they recycled the crap formula in the Jordana eyeshadows in their current eyeshadows to cut corners. 😏

The Essence blush in Goldy Cassis is gorgeous and pretty unique. It’s a cool toned mauvey purple.
Similar to low rise jeans-y’all can move back into matte makeup if you want, but I won’t be joining you!
