Say what you want about Windows 8, but the revamped recovery enviroment it introduced makes wiping and resetting PCs so much easier. As a sysadmin who works with Microsoft Intune registered PCs at work, the ability to quickly reset the PC in 15 minutes for a new user is so much better than having to PXE boot into an SCCM server and wipe the PC out and reload it, or even worse doing it all manually. Never again will I want to go back to on-premises AD and SCCM.

as a person whose pc constantly has problems, i agree that the menu thag windows 8 introduced makes it so much easier to fix the problems.

When the “”new”” one of 11 is just the icons updated. And the whole screen is DirectUI so it would have been very easy to edit it in order to make it more modern

The only change in Windows 10 was that its cursor was changed from Windows Default (Modern) to Windows Standard (Classic).

you just hold shift when clicking restart in the start menu or on windows 7 or vista repeatedly press f8 before the windows logo appears when starting up. xp and earlier needs to boot off the windows install disk
