  • Being a teaching assistant is hard, especially when students think you do not do anything beside sit, make money, and take the entire college semester grading a one page paper.

I am currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the computer Science department at my college. My responsebilities inlcude answering Professor and student emails, teaching a 50 minute recitation, office hours for students, grading programming assignements, attending the first class of the week for the class that I TA for, and attending staff meetings. On top of all that I have to focus on my own classes.

      and what about your research?

@@anwesha___ For my degree there were 3 options: Course, Project, or Thesis. I did the course option, so I did not have to do any research to graduate. I had 30 required credit hours as well as taking a Master's Exam. I also could not get lower than a B- in all my classes. My CS Master's degree is a focus in Computer Network and System Administration and I also worked as a Grad assistant with the CS department's System Admin. I graduated May of 2023 with a 3.78 GPA.

I'm in my final year and I got a job offer as a t.a at a junior primary school. I'm really ..scared like it probably needs a lot of interacting and I'm very scared of that ..I'm ok with the students but not with the other teachers but if i mange to pass that then I'm worried I'll mess up but ig the worst that could happen is they fire me ...also I really just want to chill for a while. ..What else convinced you to become a T.A?

I can say that going out of your comfort zone, always brings out good things, you ‘ll develop great skills to grow in other fields. I can say that I’ve been a baccalaureate professor this year (I was very scared but went out of my comfort zone) and that gave me the opportunity to earn a graduate assistantship… best thing that could happen to my (I’m foreign)
