What is the Hardest Level in Geometry Dash? (feat. Stormfly) [2021]

- A deep dive into the limits of difficulty in Geometry Dash. Have you ever wondered what the hardest levels in the game were? This video should show you some surprising results, as well as explain many of the complex things you see in these levels.
Sorry for any potential inaccuracies in the video, this script was finished around 2 months ago, the video has taken this long to come out due to a variety of different reasons as well as my own poor timing. Everything in the script is completely accurate up until the date the script was finished. I've been working on researching for this video for a long time and have always wanted to make a video like this so I'm glad to see this finally released.
Special thanks to @Stormfly / Stormfly for the narration.

I love how the hardest physically possible level needs a strategy to be beaten in order to not break physics and go over the speed of light or click faster than once a plank second.

I love this idea however it would be incredibly hard to compare some achievements with others (e.g. spam challenge vs tartarus) - also the list would have to ignore things that have already been done to a further extent (e.g. not having both 23-99 & 23-100 on a specific level on the list and so forth) - but yeah would be amazing to see but sadly might be a bit too much effort and difficulty to manage :(

Fun fact- if the clickspeed is 4792 clicks per second, if we say that in order to click once, your finger has to move 2 milimeters down and then 2 milimeters up, in order to reach that cps, you finger would have to move at 19.168 meters per second, or 69 km/h, which is indeed, nice.

Crazy how outdated this got
There's this misconception with how power numbers work.
Levels that say to click 10^800 times usually don't actually have 10^800 clicks.
10^44 is the physical count per second limit of actions in the universe we live in, which limits our computers. An array of bytes can't physically activate that many times in a second.
Even with the perfect computer, the computer can only input 5^43(1,136,868,377,216,160,297,393,798,828,125) times, because an input has to turn off to turn back on again.
10^800 isn't 10^40 times 20. You can't compare powers like you do with regular values.
For example, (2^8=256) and (2^4=16).
As you can see, with the power of 4, it's not half of the power of 8, in fact it's way lower.
A level that actually has 10^800 clicks would be long.
Reference numbers.
(10^800)=(100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000)
(10^44)=(100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000)
10*800=8000
10*44=440
This is why towards the end of the video, the speed of light is mentioned and it is explained that you would have to pause at certain fractions of a frame for it some levels to be physically possible. Hope this clears that up :)
@@Vivek-io3gj I wasn't confused about anything, I was stating the big misconception people have with using powers. Even with pausing to "Stay at the speed of light" it's impossible by the laws of physics to break 5^43 clicks in a second.
By "impossible by the laws of physics", I don't mean (just impossible for a human), I mean, even impossible for a machine.
Even an electron(a sub-atomic particle) doesn't snap positions that fast.
It's not about the fps a computer has, I know swift-clicking(clicking many times in a frame) is a thing, I'm saying, it's literally impossible for anything pass 5^43 inputs to be done in a second.
If it helps, the calculated clicks for the click limit in the video is 35,184,372,088,840 for about 2 seconds, keep in mind, that's with a human maintaining "light speed" on a classical computer, and it's still way lower than 1,136,868,377,216,160,297,393,798,828,125, the _by laws of physics_ most toggled actions possible.
You wouldn't reach 10^800 clicking for a minute even if you were clicking 1,136,868,377,216,160,297,393,798,828,125 per second.
Edit: Made "by laws of physics" italics.
@@xyhilwastaken makes sense ok
@@xyhilwastakenI understand how powers work, and normally i would agree with you except for the fact that you dont NEED to do "5^43 clicks in a second". by pausing, you dont need to do all those clicks within a limited amount of time, you can spread them out as far as you like. if you discount pausing then yes every honorable mention requires clicking faster than light making them physically impossible. However, theres no real reason to discount pausing as a real input method.
I'd appreciate if your comments in the future are less condescending as if youre the only one who "understands how powers work" im sure many of the viewers here have taken a middle school math class before.
@SeptaGon7 Yes, with pausing, the amount of clicks can be spread over a long period of time, I get that.
Let's say you speedhack the game to run at a frame per 100 years or something like that (assuming the game is running at 60FPS).
6000 years later, you achieved to click 10^100 times(and somehow lived long enough).
After 6000 years of recording, you can speed the footage up and technically have a completion video of a 1 second level where you have to click 10^100 times.
What I'm saying is that if you were to play this hypothetical and record a botplay over that amount of time, the bot could not be able to click 1% of the times required because of physical limitations.
But if counting 6000 whole years for a 1 second level is valid, then around 35.8 trillion clicks shouldn't be considered the maximal click limit.
Also, I don't know why you think my comment is condescending, I was just stating a common misconception. In no where in that comment did I state I know more than those who don't.
There's a difference between smart, and educated.
I could know how to cure cancer(not saying I'll find some cure, I know that's a completely unrealism asperation), but not know how to play Cooking Mama.
Lots of children play this game, so I'd assume not too many know how to grasp the full scale of how much more one power up is than the previous.
One last thing, I wasn't commenting negatively to your video. I was simply making a small statement.
Edited to remove some double spaces.

Nessus abuses something called the X position limit, a barrier that makes your position stop updating after reaching a certain distance into a level (basically freezes you in place). This limit occurs closer to the origin, the higher your FPS. For example, it's around 33 hours into a level for normal speed and 60FPS, but here, because of 5 million FPS, it occurs 256 units = 8.5 blocks into the level (30 units is 1 block)
The level uses this high FPS to its advantage by forcing you to freeze before a wall. While frozen, you have to continue spamming in one of the tightest UFO gaps (made by Illuminati65, works on 5mil FPS). Inside the gap there are exactly 322560 multi activate black orbs. Multi activate orbs can be activated only once in a single frame, so by doing a double click you can click the orb once, and then jump right after, and the next frame the orb can be activated again. In here though, instead of double clicking you have to click all the 322560 orbs in one frame so none of them can be clicked again, and then jump with both players. You go up for 2 frames and then down for 1 frame by using the orb. You have to spam like this for a very long time.
Once you're stuck in that gap, a spawn trigger loop will activate and add 1 to a counter every 4 seconds (any higher value will break on FPS that high). The counter consists of 1098 pickup and instant count triggers stacked on top of each other (it uses all available groups). When the 1st counter reaches 2147483647 (the 32-bit integer limit), it overflows and loops all the way back to -2147483648, and eventually goes back to 0 (or 4294967296). Whenever it reaches 0, it adds 1 to a 2nd counter, which again overflows and goes back to 0. This adds 1 to a 3rd counter etc. It repeats until the 1098th counter goes back to 0. In total this process finishes after 4294967296^1098*4 seconds.
X pos limit depends not only on your FPS, but also on your speed. On slow speed it's at 256 units (8.5 blocks), but on 4 speed it's actually 512 units (17 blocks).
So when the last counter reaches 4294967296 and everything gets toggled off, you can just jump up and hit the speed change to extend the x pos limit beyond the wall, so you're able to move again and complete the level.
The level needs around 537603333333 CPS, and its total length is around pastebin.com/gXdPhtLe seconds (a number with over 10k digits).

the fact that the speed of light turns into a problem is the most perfect thing ever
Lengthy comment about what would theoretically be the most difficult possible level that can be created, (leaving things undefined such as max object count that can be used before the game crashes... as well that's inconsistent, hardware based etc.) is below if you're curious. There's a more classy version without overlapping walls, and then one that just gives 0 f's and gives u 1 frame to clear all the overlapped walls)
The hardest theoretically possible level (without overlapping walls, cuz then it'd just be infinite) I could come up with this, is taking SeptaGon's counter system, using it to 1 reset itself once it's completed, and increase another trigger, the second trigger would then remove a wall (which will me as few objects as possible), and then next remove the next wall etc... these walls would start initially as close to the player spawn position as possible, and be as close to being on the same exact block space as possible, the player would also follow delorem aterna's path without the deco and just the corridor, so that it's an asymmetric path that is forced to be taken that is 16hrs long... next if possible have a system which forces you to click an exact amount, which could be triggered by the 2nd trigger, and then another trigger system you have that resets on an odd value, and that way since you're forced to trigger SeptaGon's trigger system a certain amount of times, and can end right after that, the odd counter can reset itself, but note when it's in a specific position, and if isn't then it doesn't give a true value, and only when the 2nd trigger is at whatever value it needs to be for the walls, then we can check if the 3rd trigger that is an odd value is in the right position, and if both are correct then you've clicked the exact amount of times. Finally we will use the max amount of objects that we can before the game crashes and cane barely run it, to force the player to repeat the level that many times using the layering glitch.
(If we didn't care about overlapping walls, we would have to find the max amount of objects we could use before the game wouldn't run the level, then find where creating another wall that's overlapped, and having to rebeat it with layer gimmick meets in the middle for the most unprobeable but most difficult level to be passed, and vuala, you'd have 1 frame to click the necessary amount of times, and rebeat the level however many times that's found to make it the hardest.)
