Thanks for including me. 3:17 some clarification tho, although it does look like I held into the first jump, I simply just jumped once before and waited a few frames then jumped a second time (If you look really closely you can see that). I actually wasnt aware that you didnt have space to jump before the first timing, I never intended to give myself an advantage and if someone mentioned this to me before completion I would have changed it. UPDATE: I have now reverified the level to match the real 8 jumps
Another incredible video man! Also slight correction, what happened with my run of 67-100 was I was playing on the wrong version of the level, and I found a skip that let me skip 2 of the jumps that was only possible in that broken version. (It also didn't include the blocks in the maze) So I did 6/8 of the frame perfects in that run rather than 3. However, yeah it still doesn't technically count as passing the 8 jumps.
@Ofu yeah but he read off of a script, made by septagon, the original comment was reffering that since it was a scripted documentary, not a free voiced thing
i don’t watch much gd content now, but this was a very high quality video, nice job to both you and norkbork, i found this video very interesting and it was very well made :D
I was one of the people who found this level a couple months after it came out. And I instantly fell in love with this level, I thought it was so interesting with its unbalancing. Seeing the level finally getting the recognition I believe it deserved with it being so unique. I have to admit, one of the best videos I’ve ever seen
Very interesting video, you did a really good job! I didn’t know these jumps had been attempted for this long. Oh also I never realised I had the attempts record for that long
this was such a good video, we need more videos like this! I swear you’re like the only person who really gets into some of the technical aspects of stuff (oh yeah and that one kugelblitz video about frame perfects)
I never could have imagined that there was so much history behind these simple mini cube jumps. Extremely entertaining and informative video, good job!
I always find it funny when ufwm just responds “ok” after beating one of the hardest challenges available at the time with a record breaking attempt count
as a Final Destination victor, its CRAZY to see how hard 8JOH used to be! I would never imagine it being called impossible as I was insanely consistent and prob beat 8JOH around 100 times before clearing FD. The History of this level is insane
Great video, I didn’t even know about Final Fantasy. I thought the remakes ended after Icedcave’s Final Destination remake. We could use more videos like this
Just rewatched this video and I never knew that SKOE99 was one of the first 8JOH victors, although it makes sense if he is able to do something as insane as The Third Variant
The more I think about it, the more 8 jumps of hell reminds me of the Guitar Hero section Message to Blue from the song Obsidian Both were considered to be the hardest part of already incredibly hard levels, both took until 2019 to be proven possible, and both have been taken to new heights ever since (Obsidian, the song Message to Blue comes from, has been FCed in full twice, every section of the song has been hit at 130 speed or higher and Message to Blue itself was hit at 150 speed recently)

Awesome video! We need more stuff like this in the community, immediately gave me SummoningSalt vibes :D
I like when top players or speedrunners make documentaries about the games they play and refer to themselves in the third person
being a firsthand source really is convenient as a content creator :)

Good video, I've always found it interesting how much history can be behind just 1 part of an impossible level
The history of these jumps is insane. Amazing documentary!

bro its kinda funny in a way how much history these 8 clicks have, good video

LOL TRUE
Crazy how good skoe is he beat the hardest cube timing in world the third variant and was the first person to beat 8 jumps twice.
Cant wait for “The End Goal” with 96 frame perfects (12 times in a row)

Nice documentary video! I did not know that the 8 jumps had so much history
The fact that someone got a 14-100 on S.C.
nerfed jumps but yeah, still insane
the original 8joh was nerfed to be only 60 fps frame perfects so that part is much more consistent now
Norbork the legend. Love that video please make more collabs
such a great video man, you will become huge one day
Thanks for the documentary man
I don't know why but watching this felt like how I watch my lectures on 1.25x speed. (this is good, otherwise I would fall asleep)
i cut out a lot of empty space between words and sentences so it feels more natural to me since i watch all yt vids at 2x speed
i beat final destination in about 10,000 attempts, because i suck, but holy moly that is a lot of history for a few jumps
