I wanted to do this since I bought my es335 in fact his was one of the reasons i got that guitar. It was fun to transcribe and play this song. I used 2 takes to put it together, wanted to use just one but it was too long to get everything right in one take.

I tell you something: I have been playing for 42 years and started out learning note for note the usual suspects (Page, Hendrix, Clapton, Blackmore etc.), but “Wring that neck”, and especially the first eight bars, always eluded me. Was it a pull-off on the open G-string.? Never sounded right. Thank you for solving the mystery. It was a rapid legato on the first two strings! And that would have been enough for me. But Christ, also the middle solo and the coda! You got them down exactly like it is on “The book of Taliesyn”! I am knocked out!
Thankyou! I have tried a few different ways of playing the beginning of the riff in the last few yeras but watching live footage and listening to the record slowed down this is my best guess. It took some time to get everything relatively precisely but I enjoyed doing it!
Impossible for me 😢
Ritchie Guitar God Blackmore
He is the best!
Amazing this is such a tricky piece, you nailed it.
Thank you! I am sure I havent got everything right but it felt close to me too.
Brilliant. My fave Blackmore piece along with the solo in lazy.
Love them both. Lazy is a monster though :D
Very well played
Thank you!
Awesome job....keep them coming!
Thanks I’ll try to!
Amazing! well played! great job indeed!
Thanks a bunch!
Superb! Great playing and great sound. Glad to hear the latest mods to the booster in action! ;)
Thanks Max, love the TB with new mods. The next video is with the new amp mods. Haven’t dialed in the MH sound but still sounds pretty sweet.
thank you
Love it.👌
Thank you!
Love it. Thanks so much for this man :)
Glad you like it.
Such great sound!
Thanks! It’s a vox ac10 with a treble booster.
Es335 sounded great on the early DP recordings.
I watched your video of maybe next time. Started to try to learn, but had not a lot of patience
Excellent !
Thanks!
Magistral
Thanks a lot!
fantastic!
Thanks man!
Very good job buddy !
Thank you!
super good
Thank you!
WHAT EVERYONE ELSE SAYS..EXCELLENT.. GREAT JOB, VERY NICE... THANKS!!!!
Thanks a lot!
fantastikkkkkkk GRAZIE OK BLACKMORE LESSON FANTASTIKKKKKKK
Thanks!
Again as with the Child in time solo you’ve done a great job. Wonderful to see how it’s done and to see why Ritchie gets overlooked when he’s the best of his generation ... a musician’s musician. He went over the head, of what equated to “influencers” back then (1968)
He didn’t hang out with celebs and music press enough (hardly at all) “The big 3” British guitarists (You know who) should in reality have been The big 4.
Purple were too extreme and musical for the culture vultures who designate what’s great and what’s not. Time is telling however.
Thank you! I agree DP and Blackmore was always a black sheep party due to their own choosing. But as a fan it is more rewarding to be hip to a critical or public underdog especially that they are objectively so good muscally.
Thank you sooo much.......
Thank you for watching!
Finally, I spent something about 3 month to learn it.
Glad to hear, hope you enjoyed the process. I always cherish the learning period because I learn, practice, record then move on :(
@@DogwithtwoBones Thanks to this song, I learned different playing skills, and I definitely liked it, and I'm glad that I got better with the new song. Since you answered me, may I ask if you have Deep Purple Shield tabs?
@@ledzeppelin9170 unfortunately no, i rarely do mk1 purple songs because I am mainly intro later formations. I think I only have this, some of he address and the solos for why didnt rosemary and kentuck woman.
Bravo👏
Thanks!
great ! thumbs up
Thank you!
good job my friend '
Thanks mate!
Very cool....!
Thank you!
Good Job. Nice to see it played properly. Especially the Eb run starting on the 11 fret! Never seen a tab with that despite video evidence of blackmore starting on the 11th. The only difference I do is the B flats on the run before the Gm-C-Gm: I play at the 8th fret on the 4th string but I think that's probably due to me not being as fast or nimble as you!
Yeah these early songs with barely no video are super hard to get exactly right, but I am glad you like my version.
awesome..i am glad that after years i checked again adn found this one...great job indeed. How did you do the backing track?
I got it off the internet years ago. Probably guitarbackingtracks that has died in the last couple of weeks :(
Very hard work to play and to tascribe this song, many thanks!
It was a rather large undertaking for sure but I really wanted to do it for a long time. This is mainly why I got the es335 and now that it’s done I’ll probably sell it.
@@DogwithtwoBones I always thought it was easier to play on the 335 in fact I don't know if Blackmore ever played it on the Stratocaster
Vigilius60 there is a studio footage of mk1 playing this song and Blackmore plays a strat with a tele neck if I remember corretcly.
@@DogwithtwoBones You're right but I'm not sure if it's a real live footage or only a videoclip...
It looks like they are playing wring that neck but the sound is our of sync so hard to tell. I never heard this version on any other release so might be this live just no one bothered to sync the music and the video.
You should try tackling the solo Ritchie did on this in bilzen 1969
Lol no thanks :D seriusly though that would be difficult but probably doable just would a lot of time to learn.
Will you do one of these tab lessons for Mandrake Root?
I dont think I’ll do the whole song but i might do the main riff and i have been planing to do the live jam that Blackmore used to play after mandrake root than space truckin.
But if you want to learn anything I am available for one off skype lessons.
ALVIN LEE IM GOING HOME LESSON E TABS A RICHIESTAAAAA SE E POSSIBILE FANTASTIKKKKK
I dont think I know that song, but I'll check it out.
Hi. How about tackiling Ritchie's part from the Concerto. Please!
Oh that be amazing if I could tackle that. I am sure I am not up to the main solo but there are small solos I’d love to learn now that you reminded me!
Some of Ritchies most beautiful guitar bits.@@DogwithtwoBones
From what concert is this version? Nice playing as always.
Thanks! This is the album version.
Hi can i get this backing track
It's not mine, meaning I did not create this. I thought I downloaded it from guitarbackingtrack.org but I cannot find it there now.
THAT GUITAR SOLO P ART SOUNDS GOOD...!!! BUT THE RIFF IS WHRONG....
Do you mean the begining of the riff? I found it extremely hard to hear on the original record so I listened to and watched a bunch of live recordings and it seems this is what Blackmore used to do.
В восьмом такте ми чистая, а не бемоль должна быть
This is how I heard it when I made the video.
Thanks for uploading! If you have a minute, we tried our hand at an Eddie Van Halen tribute video. As fellow music lovers, we'd love if you would check it out. It's on our page. Don't be too tough on us :)
Sounds great man, you guys nailed it!
