    • @Sheepof_Jesus
      @Sheepof_Jesus 3 месяца назад

@ezkillguy8316 Well, in the Bible, God gave the ten commandments (Exodus 20) so we could live a better life, a life that is honorable. Whosoever breaks these commandments without repentance will perish because they have received the messages about Christ with their ears but refuse to accept the message.
Think about it like this, a teacher has 3 rules. The first rule is don't get up out of your seat. The second rule is that students shouldn't speak out of turn. The last rule is to be nice, and if the student doesn't listen to those rules, why should he receive the same reward as a person who did listen?
So if you don't accept God's commandments and live opposed to them, you will spend the rest of eternity away from his peace. But don't worry, Jesus died and bled on the cross for your sins, so you didn't need to pay that penalty. So repent, turn to Jesus, and follow him.

    • @greentwblr

@@M1kadrawsalot yep it's probably jealousy, and I relate to that. I got a friend who's low-key naturally smart or sum, like literally she's always watching tv shows, movies and reading books and yet she's still the topper. Whereas I spend half of my day just studying and I don't yield out even half the grade that she gets. Yeah I did feel jealous at once... She used to kinda joke around that I'm dumb and stuff...I knew it was a joke but some of it stays with me. It really stays with me cuz that's how people have treated or seen me my whole life- an average kid who's never really good enough. It kinda ruined my self esteem. Sorry for trauma dumping lol...this year was kinda tough. But yeah I'd say it was jealousy. But dw, one thing I've observed is that, even if a topper says that they studied/ didn't study, they still receive this same reaction given above. It's probably cuz of the preexisting expectations. Dw, don't take it to heart. Be gracious and truly be grateful for every other exam you score good on, cuz man those are grades some of us can only dream of. Topping school and starting to prepare for other competitive exams has been really tough for me. My friends don't text if I am not the first to do it. I see them roaming around, playing, and having the time of their life while I sit in my room surrounded by books. They don't even inform me. I am perceived as the boring guy in the school for not playing video games or scrolling reels on Instagram. If my practice test marks fall, my parents get distraught and stress me out. Sometimes I am surrounded by thoughts of what if I don't pass the exam I am preparing for? I feel so trapped and captivated in my own house.
The exam is coming in 100 days. I must give it my all and move forward to a freer life.

@@CowyGamer If you want an advice, I can give you one. Being a top student doesn't necessarily mean studying all day and read all the time, it's about trying to understand, trying to connect pieces of information, trying to solve some sort of mystery. I think the problem of most students about studying is that they hardly ever find it interesting in some way. It could be because of a bad and discouraging teachers, difficulty or just genuine disinterest in school. But even despite that I became one of the best students in my school. My favourite subject is physics. Yes, I know, very unusual choice, but I like the amount of potential it has and enjoy finding more about it and sitting in a quiet room reading after a stressful day became like a therapy for me. Find something you like: it could be maths, history, science, art or any other subject you actually enjoy doing. Maybe after this you'll get passion to studying. Trust me, you won't even struggle to score high if you'll enjoy what you're doing. Hopefully this one helps.

Former Top Student here, I was treated well by my dad when he used to be around, he always praised me and was proud of me whenever I had high marks and even if I had gotten average marks, he still treated me well, up until in 2018, when he was diagnosed with vascular dementia, but he was still fine at that time and was an amazing dad up until 2020, during quarantine, his cognitive health declined rapidly, which caused my mom to take the role of the head of the house in which, during 2020, my mental health declined due to depression and so did my grades, I still remember my mom's scream at me on why my grades dropped (I went from 96% to 90%) and how I was never like this before, she neglected my grades even though I had tried my best to fight my depression and try to maintain a high grade, while I still respect her and all these years she had taken care of me, I had lost all my desire to even get good grades. Nowadays, my mom is fine with me getting low grades since she took notice of my health rapidly declining due to lack of sleep everyday and talked to me about it, but I sometimes wish that my dad had never gotten that stupid disease. I miss my dad, if only his old self was here.

So when I made a mistake in class, everyone was surprised and shocked, and that felt horrible, like being judged by 20-30 people is a demotivating feeling. i was a topper qnd i used to always gets full marks ,but people just kept looking down to me that i don't have anything else to do other than studying even so I actually had more important stuffs to do than the time they spent talking about this and that .
the thing that made me more uncomfortable is my family reaction they expects me to always keep on the same state and if i get a lower mark then punish me even though they don't rewards me when i get good marks .
then for 3 years my marks kept going lower and lower and i was depressed and bored from doing anything or working hard again.
later on when i got into highschool (changed my school btw)
the first exam went very good even that i haven't studied for it .
that gave me some trust in myself i wasn't the top but i was getting better .
then again i tried working hard but this time it wasn't to see people reactions or getting rewards it was to challege myself ,when I stopped carrying about other people impressions, I could get up to the top again .
now I'm the 1st in ranking in my college.
so I want you to try doing things for yourself only not for anyone on earth .

As a top student, my dad called a 96 grade in math (im Filipino, so the grading system for your report card is a maximum of 100 for each subject. Kinda hard to explain) a failing grade. That was when I just stopped trying and completely dissolved into playing games. I dont know how to cope with it. I want to get my grades back, but at the same time I really dont even want to try anymore.

but 96 is NOT a failing grade, that's a hellish exaggeration, maybe somewhere around 75+ is considered pretty good perhaps
I wouldnt recommend *just* giving up (can go bad) but also dont be too hard on yourself aswell

Not saying you have to he perfect, nobody is ofc, but do go for the skills that will serve your career. Yes, this is correct, that mostly parents are like these, they want top & full marks, not passed, my dad was simple, and didn't ever beat me, if I rarely get low marks. But, my friends were mostly fake, they sometimes demotivate me that, there is nothing, in getting so much grades, then, I not stopped the friendship but, talk less with them. I enjoyed mine childhood, gotten awesome grades, never lose, and motivate & help others. After, your many hard-works, it will must surely pay your results. Some, tips are there, if you don't feeling to study.
    (1) Get a walk or listen to music.
    (2) Study, when you are comfortable, means in day or night, I was a night study student. 😅
    (3) Reduce Screen time of your mobile/PC.
    (4) Remember, that your sleep must be completed properly.
    (5) Solve, questions and follow a proper mindset, and get a straight way for completing backlogs.
    (6) Be, far away from Porn/sexual videos, that might affect your study.
    (7) Drink water, too, not soda, and keep your mind always cool, because there is organic chemistry 😂😅😅.
    (8) Do, prayers, & well as take blessings of God as well Parents; and good always good for others, because it strike the your mind that, you are good, and doing good Karma.
Comment is long, so 😅. But, I am PhD one in mathematics. Hope, you would like the tips, that can improve your routine to study. Jai Shree Krishna 🕉️❤️‍🔥

Damn, this really hits hard. I was always at the top in school without trying too hard-procrastinated a lot, crammed last minute, but still did well(top 1, top 1, top 3 surprisingly). But in college, it’s so different, stuff is real now, if you dont work hard, you fail. The pressure and expectations just pile up-my family, relatives, everyone expects so much. I got sick my first week, missed assignments, and without any real study habits, I started slipping, like a downward spiral, my grades plummeted. I’m not even sure I like my course (only doing it to follow my parents and uncle recommended), and on top of that, I feel isolated and can’t stay focused. Now I’m stuck feeling like a failure, and the weight of all these expectations just makes it harder to get back up. Right now i dont know what i wanna do with my life and am at a low point. Anyway i wanna try and fix my habits. Hope i get through this. Hope yall get through whatever you're going through too.

People had low expectations of me, and when I was interested in something, and did it, like, really good, it was a very refreshing feeling, and my parents were really proud. I feel like shit after watching this skit, and even worse, after reading comments. World was unfair to me, but unfair in a good way. Although, I'm not making tons of cash, I'm not an academician either, but I have a decent enough job, some spare time on my hands, and I have friends. Life's got even better after Uni. I had a childhood. Not a lot to remember, but it was nice to have.

As a top student myself, this vision is extremely relatable.
Even if my parents are happy with how I do at school already, I fear one day if I get anything lower than an A, they'll be disappointed in me. My parents are proud of me for who I am and what I receive every time in every report card, but the fear of failing is something that can't be taken away from me regardless.
This video shows the amount of effort a top student puts into getting full marks, and just the desire to make our parents proud affects us in ways nobody else could ever imagine.

This is the only video that made me cry, Of course this video probably explained my parents behaviour, they never showed they were proud of me, they just want me to improve, there strictness is the reason why my grades are low, and made me think why do I have a life, I just want to see them be proud of me once...

I once made an 82 on my test, I was immediately disappointed and scared. Not because of my own problems, but because I knew how my parents would react. After that I tried my best to get good grades and even after that my parents just said nothing. After that I stopped trying so hard and eventually fell from the ranks.

Damn it also happened to me too, always had 92+ in every exam but once I got 88 in English, my dad just said “you could’ve done better, I’m not satisfied” from then on I just gave up on studies. Ik it’s bad but I don’t have the motivation anymore

Believe me, it is NOT just Asian parents. For far less, I was told to kms when I was around 14, and my parents, though non-western, are not Asian. For reference, at 14 I was studying calculus and their only goal in life was to get me admitted into HYPSM. When I was around 11, I was terrified of going home after receiving a 94/100. If you could afford to ‘fall from the ranks’ and are still alive and well, then be glad for your particular set of Asian parents 😅

They used to say power never comes to those who were born with it, but for those who would and could do anything to achieve it. I don't know how many times that was the one quote that drove me. It was fucking subconscious. If I got even an 98 or 99, I'm sent to the basement to sleep (it's unfinished and crawling with spiders). Mom never sees that I'm trying. I know I sound emo, but fuck this shit. Nobody understands the top student pressure. That is until I saw this video. It was pretty much like staring at a mirror. Thanks man. Jerry, i don't know if you did this for fun or smth, but u really made my day man. I broke out crying.

@@ASHU-AsherIf your parents apply this pressure, then I’m sorry- I think u just have to endure it until u leave the household. If your parents are supportive and/or reasonable but you put pressure on yourself to please them, then try to talk to them about it and they may offer reassurance. Some parents love unconditionally. Others require excellence and/or perfection in exchange, but conditional love is worthless. It will only destroy their child in the end.

I think not everyone is like that or is it just me tho?
I'm a top student of my school and my parents are quite supportive and caring. They accept whatever I get. Recently, I read a question wrong and answered a whole different thing which made my rank drop to 11. But still, they said it's okay and that they can see I worked hard. They even comforted me and said that even if I try my best, some things may go wrong and it's totally fine.
Now that I see other toppers being pressured, I'm really thankful to my parents.

This video is so fucking relatable. My parents always shame me for getting below an A on my assignments, tests, whatever it may be, and when I actually manage to pull it off, they act like as if nothing happened.
Its really depressing and it makes me hate my parents at times.
