“If you could get the working class to stick together, maybe it would make a difference” She said perfectly what you guys are working on with this channel. Keep it up. You’re doing great work.
Middle class and working class are regular people wanting a decent life….. but there are some people who have innate drive to build empires and accumulate power and wealth….. in the history you have such people like Alexander the Great and Genghis Khan …. But in modern time…. Political empires are not acceptable anymore so they pursue economic empires through unrestrained capitalism…. The key word is “unrestrained”…. Then they abuse workers, pollute, all for their god of money and profit …. So they are few in numbers but they have a more vested interest and power and money as compared to numerous working class with little interest in accumulating such things as their god ….
This channel has only supported people and policies that destroy the middle class. They’ve paved a beautiful path to hell and don’t even know it. This channel is about division and distractions. Very rarely do they post “good” content.
And there's the problem. Red Scare. She's literally talking about Socialism, and as a Socialist, I agree with her. Before the party flip to hide the white supremacists, Red State Democrats created the most Leftist legislation in our history (other than the Constitution itself), The New Deal. And they worked on it in cooperation with The American Socialist Party who at the time represented about 20% of voters. Then McCarthy, Nixon, and Reagan happened..
How? By supporting unions and bringing in jobs? I know it's hours away and not good enough, I'm not lying that it is, but they at least did something, and other areas need that too. Meanwhile, the republicans tore down unions and reduced jobs, AND increased costs by their failed policies and refusal to sign on with the Democrats who put forward bills designed to deal with all the price-gouging. republicans have NOT put any bills up themselves, just blocked the ones Democrats have, then complained and blamed Democrats for it. Same with the border, Dems put up bills, and repubs blocked them and didn't put up any of their own, and now lie and blame Democrats for it.
politicians are just puppets of billionaires. And yes, mass illegal immigration is a major problem that has harmed the US economy. Printing money and sending billions to fight foreign wars has also destroyed the US economy. Americans are tired of being second class citizens in their own country.
It's only possible because most of the poor remain uneducated throughout their lives and don't understand the real value of a college education or of giving up their bigotries. They'd rather cling to their Bibles and guns...

As long as the government claims to be fixing it... there will be far more poor as a percentage than before the government started to "help". Might question why the policies never meet the objectives.
poor people will always be amongst us. what counts is the truth. and the truth is, biden-harris opened the border and broke the law and favoring law breakers over US citizens. there is no issue of people wanting to come to the US but they have to come legally under any circumstance. i am not a US citizen but USA is my dream country I have not been there but I know I will once come legally because I love the value of the USA constitution. i could have come during this southern border crisis but I chose not to break the law because the law was put to protect people especially immigrants. if you think coming to the US illegally is blessed then you don't know anything about being a citizen.

The video focuses on how great the New Deal policies helped America back in the day and now it is a thing of the past, especially in rural Kentucky and how Democrats can win them back (sounds like a liberal Anti-Trump agenda piece). Donald Trump is fighting for domestic jobs and imposing tariffs on countries who are hurting our economy by trade imbalance. No mention of that which is why he won the election. His policy is America first not global interests, not social programs, but fair trade and keeping America safe. That is the message that should resonate - economy and protection should be our two highest priorities. My biggest problem with both sides is they don't care about our unsustainable national debt and only care about boosting the economy at any expense just to win an election.

An American president is not the president of the world. His duties are for his country and for his people. And they are also against increases to minimum wage (they think that wage increases drive inflation) and oppose the expansion of healthcare and government jobs as a form of communism (they're boomers and grew up during the red scare) so sure, they keep voting against they're own self interest, but it's because they can't see how they've been lied to about the policies that would actually benefit them
Artificial wage increases are the problem. When you increase the minimum wage you increase the cost of goods which will obliterate some jobs in the process. Also the reason why healthcare cost so much is because of government involvement too.

If capitalism was allowed to run it's course nearly every worker in the economy would be only paid enough to keep starvation off and thrown to the street the first sign they might not be able to work for their company.
Honest questions; what makes you think you have the right to be guaranteed anything? What system will guarantee you anything? Human nature is the problem and capitalism isn't perfect but its better than anything else we've thought of.
I think you really need to research the two for real. These past four years have been harder on us than the four before. Plus I suggest if you own a home you really research Kammieallahs tax proposals and what that could mean for you. Not good.
Last Monday was Labor Day and I know a lot of people don’t know why it is a holiday. I’ve never been in a union, but I am very grateful for what unions accomplished for working people. That I work 8 hour days, forty hours a week, or overtime pay if I work more than that. I get breaks and lunch breaks. A work in an environment that is safe. I have benefits. I’m (mostly) appreciated for what I do. I’m grateful to the heroes who fought for working peoples’ rights and got it done. Despite incredible opposition they put their lives on the line. Keeping unions strong keeps our country strong.😊😊
Unions are not now , nor have they ever been supported by the Republican party.... because the Republican party does not care about poor/ working poor/ working class people
the teachers union in Vermont rams down, trans, lgbtq, blm, sex in 1st grade books in schools meanwhile paying off politicians to get teachers more and more money to teach kids that can't read, can't count, have no life skills and taxes keep going up.
Yup. If people bother to look up the wealth of these people... there are far too many millionaires in our politics. Mostly on the Republican side. But way too many.
My dad was 8n a union his entire career. It tried to screw the union members, they took the union to court and thank goodness they won. I doubt they would win today. Any and I mean ANY organization can become corrupt. Wake up, life is not black and white it is full of a lot of colors in between.
@@TheKavebear1mostly on the republican side 😂? Almost all millionaires in corporate America are Democrats 😂. Check out Hollywood almost 100% of them are democrats.
That was actually one of the dumbest things I have heard in a long time. Think! If everyone was poor, would that make things better? No you moron, most rich people are what provide opportunity, you want more of them, not less. And while some of them got wealthy through ill gotten means (mostly through the government), the vast majority did it by providing value which makes things better for everyone. How many wealthy people live in Kentucky? I am guessing not many.
Well, surely you are aware that Republicans vote AGAINST raising the minimum wage from $7.25 per hour? Why do people vote AGAINST their own best interests?
Absolutely!! I can't stand hearing big corporations raking in billions of dollars in profit, then have the mult-millionares and billionaires at the top receive million$$$$$$$ JUST IN BONUSES every year and not having that money go to all the people that helped those companies make the profits they made - THEIR WORKERS!!! I'm sick and tired of hearing that "You can't raise the minimum wage, or else companies will just charge more for their products and we'll all have to pay more." What a dumbass response! Not because companies won't do that, but because it's such a "lay down and die" way of thinking. Why not DO SOMETHING about this and urge law makers to change how these companies handle such large profits!? I'm not one for loving when the government gets involved in things they shouldn't, but when it comes to things where their interference is done to HELP people that are being screwed and make things more fair to improve the lives of millions of people, then yes, they should interfere and make laws that help the average hard-working American.
The jobs you are talking about are not intended to be careers, but stepping stones. If people don't learn that and keep themselves down, they deserve the pay they are earning.
John, your videos are some of the best I've ever seen on this topic. More reporting like this, please. We need to wake up Washington and state houses around the country. Democrats as a party need to become champions of the working class again.
Once they stopped advocating for social degeneracy only favored by college bureaucrats & get back to economic issues (which they will never do), they will earn back these voters. I'd vote Democrat if they weren't promoting so much sickening social policy.
Ever since a certain Democrat president got into the WH, all of that went to sh*t. Ain't gonna happen. Too F'n late for that. Dems just don't care. I switched parties over it.
@@Synoopy2 I feel like this is both true and false. Congress is full of "rich" people, and if they have generational wealth, truly can be in the 1%, but billionaires are an entire different level. You can make the argument that they buy congress, but I don't think the ultra rich that are the problem are really *in* congress. I know there are some ultra wealthy people in congress though, but my point is the overall makeup
Biden did put a 15% tax on corporations and he was going to raise that in his second term plus, he was going to tax the rich their fairer share. Biden was doing things like FDR and MTG blasted him for it (Biden turned it into an add for a short time). Hopefully Kamala will do continue with those ideas.
In the 50s, the highest tax rate was 70%. Only on what you made over $10 million. That was when America was great. Going back to those great days is most rightly returning taxes to what they were when we were great. Who doesn't want to be great again?
This is so important - listening to those who voted like that and why. How else can we understand one another and act accordingly if we don't ask and listen? Thanks for the work. I bet you made some people feel so much better, simply because they got to express themselves to an someone else they don't usually talk to.
What a sleight of hand! Convincing poor people that other poor people are the problem while lining their pockets. Until the monied class is held accountable for the disparity they’ve created on the backs of the working class, there will be more and more poor people.
Did you miss the part where they are building a battery factory....you thought they took up a collection at church to build that. Here's a cluse....Biden raised your taxes, brought that back to buy your vote in a battery factory which will be out of business in less than 10 years...While you vote Union, and the buyers of those batteries say F u...I'll buy from Mexico, China....etc....And you't go back to the voting booth, and vote democrat, for another 50 years. @Zoroasterisk what you are advocating for would destroy the economy. Would tax unrealized capital gains on people's homes, their retirement funds etc? Once you drove off all of the investment money it won't come back for a long time and you would be reliant on politicians whims
Kentucky voters need to stop harming America and get rid of Moscow Mitch McConnell. That sorry excuse for a human being has made Kentucky look bad for decades and he needs to be voted out of office already.
Yes, Kentuckians have had a rough go in a lot of places but sometimes it's hard to feel sorry for them when they vote for the likes of McConnell and Rand Paul. Two folks whose political philosophy is every man for themselves.
The same that the Democratic party is a mix of aligned but distinct interests (Sanders-style leftists, vaguely progressive millionaires, and those concerned about civil rights for ethnic and sexual minorities), the GOP in Kentucky and elsewhere is made up of different interests too. I remember the primary race between Trey Grayson and Rand Paul back when the seat first opened up. Rand Paul won on a mix of educated, upper middle-class libertarian-leaning sections and evangelicals who embraced him for running to the right on things like abortion. The kind of people in this video had little to do with Paul being Kentucky's senator. The forces that drive the general GOP favorability in Kentucky is entirely unrelated to the Trump thing, which gives hope for people who want to use New Deal style politics to win back large portions of Trump voters.
Self sufficiency, as is Rand's philosophy, is not exactly everyone for himself. People are fully able to work together and help each other all they want to make a good life for everyone. He just doesn't believe that government should be your nanny to solve all your problems. That was a big concern people had with his father when he ran for president. Parents with disabled children or people with special needs were freaked out that he would eventually and gradually discontinue government checks. There are other ways to help people without taking from government. I have never seen a disaster, or a house burn down or many other things where people have not stepped up and gave way more than was needed.
@@georgefirth4502 "self sufficiency" is good in theory but as much a fairytale in the real world as the left utopian dream of "world peace." In practice, self sufficiency manifests as the rich and powerful exploiting the vulnerable all the while placing the blame on those born with less advantages and making them feel guilty for their circumstances. E.g. "you are poor because you deserve it." Are there lazy people? Sure. But the vast majority are honest hardworking people who do not understand the game in which they play. Self sufficiency is a wolf in sheep's clothing. A farce.

Same here - they moved all the jobs offshore and it devastated the South. The one thing I despise about Unions is get bailouts when they are not profitable - the people suffer and the leaders run off with the money 💰 and taxpayers suffer
Agreed especially with Walz on her side and what he has done for MN and has shown he really has been doing the work and isn’t a billionaire and has this working class attitude. I strongly support and like Harris, but I'm afraid she hasn't done much to reach out to rural working-class white people. The Harris campaign is trying to appeal to Never-Trump Republicans, who are mostly country-club Republicans (business owners and such), to women (but mainly educated women and women of color), and to various groups of color. That might be the smartest strategy electorally, but it kind of writes off rural working-class white people, and I think they know it.
I voted in the Democratic Primary & against Trump in 2016 & 2020. I grew up in NJ and we were blue in both elections. I will always consider myself a Democrat at heart, because that platform resonates with me. Sadly the DNC is corrupt as hell & for the first time, I'm voting for a Republican in November. Your dad & his beliefs were aligned with a version of the Democratic Party at one point in time, and that's his definition of being a democrat. Sadly the Republican party is now closer to that than the current DNC. I feel for your dad, it must have been hard having children who didn't want to understand him
Well her perspective is fine and if the migrants coming across the border were all like she would like to believe they are then by all means she could be right unfortunately half the illegal's coming across the border are Drug dealers, human trafficker's, murderous rapists and child molesters. It is the old dish of candy every piece of candy looks the same but there are 2 pieces that will kill you if you eat them would you stick your little fingers in that dish and give one of the pieces of candy to your Son, your daughter your grandson or daughter your wife or even yourself? I think not! The democrats care nothing about you or you family all they care about is your vote your vote to put them on power after they could care less if you live or die.
Trump is a 90s Democrat and the Left LOVED him until he became president. Interesting how you go from loving someone to calling them Hitler simply because they aren't part of the political establishment.
You don't care about corruption. The amount of cabinet officials from his prior admin with conflicts of interest were insane, and the media was completely silent about it. His opposition to the border bill and the pro-act are dis-qualifiers for people who actually pay attention to policy.
yeh, when the interviewer took the time to listen and be compassionate, they sounded more like Democrats, ironically. It's the elitism that turns them to Trump, plus also there's racism in them rural counties. I know, I lived in one in Indiana for many years.
It's so tough to hear. I grew up in southern Indiana with a lot of family in Kentucky and still see the area as my home too, but post 2016 I don't even like visiting. This was a great interview. The inherent contradictions in these people's positions won't be solved by demeaning them, it will be solved by taking real action that has an impact on their lives.
The people of Elliot County in this community is conservative. They voted Democrat because their papaws did, not based on policies. Reagan turned Washington into Gucci Gulch, where lobbyists tell our officials what to do, not the people, and this is where a two party system fails. Both parties are right wing. The GOP is just much further right than the Democrats. For democracy (lower case) to work, you have to vote not based on loyalty, but principle. About policy. (And to be fair, federal elections don't do much, rather they choose which oligarchs get policy they like. That needs to change, but the public is not effective at applying pressure to the federal government over election reform.) Elliott County has no friends in Washington, and this makes them super vulnerable to confidence-playing Mussolini-wannabes. They got suckered by Trump, and now that they vote for Trump because their elders did, they'll continue to do so, against their own interests, not recognizing that while the Democratic party doesn't work for them either, it at least works according to coalition and wants to prevent one-party autocracy. To be fair, Obama promised _Hope and Change_ and gave us the same neoliberalism that Clinton gave us (and continuing a lot of George W. Bush policies.) The reason you vote for King Log in an FPTP election is to keep King Heron out of office, even Log does nothing for you. Elliot County voted for King Heron, and even though it wasn't by majority, the Electoral College put Trump in the White House, and we all suffered for it.
Uninformed I see! How’s 20 million criminal illegals helping these people in any way? Y taking any jobs that they might could’ve gotten by undercutting and working for peanuts. Or the $400 billion spent this year alone wining and dining and housing all those criminal illegals. Wasn’t Trump doing that the last 4 years. They remember living better when Trump was President compared to the shit show the last 4 years. But I know the lefts talking point. It’s Trumps fault! Just like it was Bush’s fault the whole 8 years of the great divider Obuma. When is it the Democrats fault for what they eff up? Amazing they never have fault according to CNN and their smooth brain followers.
Did you even bother watching that vide? That sneering, contemptuous attitude is precisely why people turned to Trump. Those people are very self-aware and conscious that Trump isn't any better than Biden, but they vote for him out of spite, because the Dems have offered them nothing and even working against them by signing up to NAFTA. Knowing what city liberals think about them doesn't help either. What's the point of cheap stuff from China or Mexico, if you can't get a job to pay for it or have to move hundreds or thousands of miles away from friends and families to get one?
It's true they voted for Democrats because it was part of their family identity and "what we've always done," but they did switch their vote to Trump, so that means they can switch back if another person or party does something to earn their vote.
This is so strange. They speak as if they are leftist too and yet the conservatives have convinced them that the right in the solution. How the hell do you bridge a gap where people agree with you on almost everything and want the same goals, but vote the other way?
It sounds like your mind is opening to the fact that we are more similar than we are dissimilar. Politics are supposed to be about agreeing on the problems but disagreeing on the solutions.

Like trumps main message is America first.. that makes sense to a simple person like me. Yet we look at the immigration policies in all the big leftist/ democrat cities like Chicago/ New York and they seem to be prioritizing immigrants over other fellow Americans who’ve paid into the system for better or worse. That’s what’s is pissing people off like myself. There should be a hierarchy to things. I’m all for charity but I’m going to prioritize in order of closeness to me. My immediate family first, my extended family, my local community, and then my fellow Americans. I’m sorry for the predicament the migrants are in, but not so sorry that I’m willing to sacrifice a fellow American first. Cause if it ever got down to a dogfight with another country it’s America first all the way… 9/11 was one of the saddest days in American history, but it was also a very clarifying time for the older American that it was US over everyone else, and it drew us all closer for a time

75% of career age people have a large amount of their personal wealth in a 401k, a corporate tax cuts directly increases the value of equities held in their portfolio
The amount of taxes cut for each individual is based on percentage of income (basically) so to compare someone making 25k a year and someone making 1 million annually is not comparable and in either case someone keeping more of their money that they earned wether it be from flipping burgers or managing hedge funds is a good thing because they will spend it on things that directly benefit their lives where as government will send it overseas or pay Dewayne Johnson millions for 4 post on X

The top 10% of earners already pay 90% of our taxes. The issue isnt tax revenue, it’s tax spending. But yeah, i dont disagree with what you are saying. Just that if we brought in more tax revenue, thats not going to stop them from blowing it on dumb stuff.
Those that make 99% more will only cut jobs or raise prices on the consumer. They can easily move money around and up and move their businesses to another country. Democrats some reason can’t understand that. How sbout tell the democrats to quit giving all our taxpayer money to criminal illegals. @@elephantintheroom3854 You're missing the point. FDR policies incentivised the rich and powerful to spend way more of their money on workers and ultimately get infrastructure spending (oh and while still being rich and powerful).

We could solve a lot of problems in this country if we had more unions and less corporate owned politicians.
Yup. If people bother to look up the wealth of these people... there are far too many millionaires in our politics. Mostly on the Republican side. But way too many.
Unions suck. They keep the hard workers down and eventually cause a company to fall down.
I 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 AGREE .
My dad was 8n a union his entire career. It tried to screw the union members, they took the union to court and thank goodness they won. I doubt they would win today. Any and I mean ANY organization can become corrupt. Wake up, life is not black and white it is full of a lot of colors in between.

"How many people did they hurt to get there" the realest quote right there. Require businesses with high profits to pay people living wages!!
Goverment interference in markets always leads to fubar.
The jobs you are talking about are not intended to be careers, but stepping stones. If people don't learn that and keep themselves down, they deserve the pay they are earning.

Biden did put a 15% tax on corporations and he was going to raise that in his second term plus, he was going to tax the rich their fairer share.
@@georgefirth4502 "self sufficiency" is good in theory but as much a fairytale in the real world as the left utopian dream of "world peace."
In practice, self sufficiency manifests as the rich and powerful exploiting the vulnerable all the while placing the blame on those born with less advantages and making them feel guilty for their circumstances. E.g. "you are poor because you deserve it."
Are there lazy people? Sure. But the vast majority are honest hardworking people who do not understand the game in which they play.
Self sufficiency is a wolf in sheep's clothing. A farce.

The Harris campaign is trying to appeal to Never-Trump Republicans, who are mostly country-club Republicans (business owners and such), to women (but mainly educated women and women of color), and to various groups of color. His speech at the DNC was fire.
That needs to change, but the public is not effective at applying pressure to the federal government over election reform.)
Elliott County has no friends in Washington, and this makes them super vulnerable to confidence-playing Mussolini-wannabes.
Bush policies.)
The reason you vote for King Log in an FPTP election is to keep King Heron out of office, even Log does nothing for you.
Elliot County voted for King Heron, and even though it wasn't by majority, the Electoral College put Trump in the White House, and we all suffered for it.
If the poor, middle and working class unite and work together we would be a force to reckon with.

These politicians come in there and lie to all those people knowing that most of them don't know what is really going down in D.C.
