Our 2 week Canada #vanlife trip from Vancouver to Calgary continues! We spent day 4 in the beautiful wine region of Kelowna with our great friend and fellow vlogger, Nadine because it’s her hometown! Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this RUclips channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
For the first time in 3 years we're taking a 24 hour break from all electronics! We're going to spend the day enjoying each other's company with no distractions and planning 2019 with pen and paper. We look forward to reading and responding to all your comments tomorrow 😁

I live in Kelowna! So glad you guys were able to see our beautiful city and explore! I hope you guys loved it! I would suggest coming back in the summer though. Not a lot of places beat Kelowna summers!
For non-canadians: just a note that the enormous country of Canada is HUGE and the culture differs across the provinces and territories. BC is amazing but it is difficult to generalize it as representing the country as a whole. There's so much to explore! Enjoy! 🍁🇨🇦

Kelowna is a special city. We chose it as the name for our dog (pictured as my pic) solely because of the great experiences we had last year for Canada’s 150th. So, I am feeling a bit nostalgic.

My husband and I (in our 60s) just discovered your channel a few weeks ago and we are loving every minute of watching your travel adventures. I am an R.N. by profession and took a sabbatical from healthcare in the mid 90s to work as a tour director for a large east coast tour operator then step-on Newport, R.I. city tour guide which was a dream fulfilled as I always wanted to work in travel. I did this work for two years and it was the most fun but hardest work I ever did and I was an ER nurse!! You guys are just great and wish you many more traveling adventures!!!

Hi Kara & Nate (and Nadine) a great vlog - those noodles looked fabulous. I think if you drink enough wine it would look 3D even without the glasses. Oh and those glasses - a serious fashion statement that I think you guys can pull off. 🍾👓🍷. Loving the filming effects - looking forward to the next vlog - keep them coming - Chris & Marianne. Looks like you chose a good time of year to go to Kelowna. In summer, temperatures can approach 40 degrees celsius - hot for Canada.

Noooo! I was in Kelowna this summer and craving Ramen! I should have done more research. Aghhhhh
You guys should when this outbreak has passed by come back to Canada to visit central Canada Ontario but try fly westjet you get a feel to how Canadian airlines bring Canada's hospitality on an Canadian airline Air Canada has had a lot of backlash negative feedback but Westjet has my opinion 5x more positive feedback I flew to Vancouver from Toronto in 2012 on a 737 700 it was hard to my anxiety but flight attendants picked that up quickly kept me calmer not bad for 5 hrs 20 mins I had drunk to much pop lol then again I was hiper enough to not think of the flight

Hey Kara and Nate, just wanted to point out that there is sooo much more of our beautiful country to see besides the west coast. I do hope that when travel restrictions do finally lift and you two are able to resume your van life travels, that you take some time and explore Middle Canada (I'm in Winnipeg), and our Eastern provinces all the way up to PEI. Some very beautiful country with great friendly Canadians along the road...not to mention some really great food and coffee! Come on back! :D
You guys need to come here during the hot summers and go to a few wineries as we have over 200 to choose from all within an hour drive.

Snow in a high mountain pass is quite common in the fall, your reaction to it was hilarious, I live just down the road in Kamloops and I think it’s one of the prettiest drives in BC, come check it out someday.

I’m covered in tattoos and I wish I’d put more thought into a lot of mine. Ones with heaps of meaning I still love, so advise if you decide to do it, really make sure it’s something that will be significant forever - but a globe and a plane totally make sense for you guys!

Yes, for real...a kangaroo farm...I've held a baby albino kangaroo....one of only a handful ever born in the world. It used to be in Lake Country but it just moved to the end of the airport area ( Ellison area).

I'm super late on watching/commenting, but definitely go to the eastern provinces and the maritimes, as well as the territories if you're up for it! Canada is EXTREMELY diverse, in climates, cultures, ethnicities, architecture, history, landscapes... I think it would be amazing if you met and learned from locals in Nunuvut and NWT. And you can't NOT have a good time in Toronto or Montreal!
