Super helpful tip: You don't have to be grounded when dropping your meteors, only when hiding. Thank you to Kreater120, Testtank5198 and others who mentioned this! L works fine, one line is tight but also works fine. I showed this because its the same spreads as for towers and for final phase; hopefully easy for people to remember. Coronation - I show ccw, because I've used 1A markers for the whole expansion and which way you rotate is arbitrary. I explain that people should look at the waymarks to see if their group is doing clockwise instead. Absolute authority - I show a strat I personally used which is done like blackfire trio in UCoB, but I also show the cheese. As someone who healed the fight, I'd rather not throw all my mitigation on this one fairly easy mechanic, but there's nothing wrong with it. Icicles - I show both N/S prio and fixed bridges (what NA is calling braindead?). I have no horse in this race. This mechanic is hard and late in the fight. People are going to murder each other, regardless of the strat. Ice 2 - I show MTTT, but also explain TTTT. Groups with low DPS shouldn't do TTTT, as the tankbuster afterwards will murder them if they don't skip.

It's worth mentioning that during radical shifts, you can just stand in both colors and adjust after. There's plenty of time. That way, you dont have to look at the background or the sides. So you can keep staring at your hotbar. ❤
ye because most of them did melee front bridge and range back bridge the issue is that if the 2 healers have to go left and the 2 tanks have to go right => they'll take the same bridge and will fall we did what hector showed as fixed bridge for day1 clear and it worked perfectly (in links take in bridges, out links take out bridges), so everyone takes one bridge, and when u need to come back mid, it's opposit order and u take the same bridge
I mean there were other guides out 🤣, I only watch hectors for the strats that late adopters will force me to do if I go in pf after his guide goes up.
Stayed till the end of the video for that cutest cat, is worth it !!! (lel) Thanks for the guide video, much appreciated. I would imagine things will be very messy with PF, but one can only keep trying (practice makes perfect).
The idea that you can always use the TTTT strategy isn't entirely accurate. Each Tether player has a 50/50 chance to receive the Stack Marker. If one of the Tanks gets this marker, that Tank will die if they attempt to soak it alone. An invulnerability skill is mandatory in this scenario. Therefore, the only viable way to execute the TTTT strategy is to swap out the Tank who receives the Stack Marker during the second cycle.
You're the man Hector.....unifier of PF groups and savior of casuals ^.^ I tried savage this expansion for the first time following your videos and now have full BiS....thank you!
for dropping meteors in earth phase, my FC last night found there was less movement overall and fewer opportunities for error if handled this way: if you have no marker and you're staying on your platform to soak a tower, you drop both meteors on the platform. the person who soaks the north tower drops the two north meteors and the person who soaks the south tower soaks the south meteors. If you had to go out for the earth shaker or circle AOE, drop both your meteors into the abyss then drop back down onto your platform to hide behind the meteors already dropped. Also means that you don't have to have the people soaking the towers drop meteors float up, move out, then move back and drop back down. Those two players never have to use the elevation change for this mechanic
14:04 TTTT is a 50/50 to kill a tank. If the tank who got the stack on the 2nd set gets the stack on the 4th set, they will die -- they have to invuln on the 2nd, which will run out by the time they need to take the 4th.
@Yokai_Yuri I know, both strats are difficult. But with one specifically called "brain dead", I'm supposed to think that's the method that requires barely any thinking to overcome. But nope, wipe after wipe after party disband after salt. "It's supposed to be "brain dead" easy lol. With that and meteors, I was starting to actually lose my sanity with those easy strats,, and still watching ppl fail it. Least I finally gotta clear with a patient party.
@@Yokai_Yuri Yeah the problem is the panic, rather anxiety to cross. There's plenty of time to adjust on the ice phase, people are just very anxious to cross the bridge for whatever reason.
There are actually four spots on the arena where the outlines of all three platforms overlap where you will be safe for all 3 patterns of Radical Shift in Phase 2 without having to look at the direction of the rotations… you may have to adjust position after you land but this trivialises this mechanic… 😄
D3/D4 don't even have to move for the entire mechanic if they stand on the bottom intercardinal corners of the yellow platform which is visible on the arena before she even casts Radical Shift. Healers can also just stand on them and adjust when the actual platform appears. I think it's a bit spicier for D1/D2 because the safe spot on the North of the yellow platform is only a small triangle but it should still be possible for them.
I really feel like guides should mention during divide in conquer people can end up out of buff range if they sit at the edge of hitbox during this the entire time
@@shelflord1686 2 minute comes out exactly at that time. I have had people trying to be back to avoid lines and overlap miss out on tech step, if you have buffers in your group being inside the hitbox is a necessity.
You don't need all 4 people to go down onto the platform to drop the meteors as well, since everyone is targeted for two sets. You can have a less-movement version of any type of meteor pattern by simply having the two people who were targeted for the line/circle stay floating off the platform and drop both sets into the abyss, while having the two tower-soakers per platform place all 4 meteors.
Is it really possible to clear this at i710 party? Cause I'm starting to doubt, cause the lowest I've been to seeing fake enrage is about 34% Or is this recommend at i720?
Holy hells you're quick with these! Great guide as always. I reached phase 2 in pf last night but was too tired to continue what I thought would be another mechanic heavy phase, but seeing it's actually really easy is great! Will clear soon enough and then start the dreaded mount grind (99+ totems on EX1&2, end me)
For authority cheese, you can just slighty split apart and it reduces flare damage massively while still allowing full upkeep. No need for heavy mits then.
For meteors, my group developed a Caster Uptime strat that has casters/rangeds floating all the time (our group has two casters) and that allows us to just stand there doing DPS/Healing while only melees and tanks drop meteors on platform
@ Basically we just let the Casters (my static runs double casters too) and Healers stay floating and not moving so they keep casting without being interrupted by movement. Melees have free movement anyways and dropping meteors they won’t lose uptime too, so what’s the problem of doing like this? Grow up.
I prefer the fixed bridge pattern couse i dont have to look at the person in front of me which side he has to pick. The less i have to think of other palyers the better. fixed makes it so you just look at the tether and there is no question asked to should you check if someone takes the same bride or not.
Is there a way you can make a mini-guide for meteor drops where the two on the platform drop all four? Two first set, two second set to make a box while the two people already floating stay out; reduces the amount of gravity jank needed.
So I was just doing a party for this. Died to the enrage in phase 1 but... I thought she was supposed to go to phase 2 after that if she was at 0.1%? Or did she have JUST enough HP to survive and kill us? Because that's BS if that's the case.
In Divide and Conquer, aren't the placements of M1 and R1 switched up with M2 and R2? 1 should be left and 2 should be right as shown in the begining, right? Thanks a lot for the vid I'm starting tonight thanks to youuu!
I find it funny that Hector says at the beginning that party finder is using multiple kinds of strategies and in my server I only see "Hector Strategy" in PF.
Made it to the radical shift part on first lockout then my group had to stop... I didn't expect this to be the very end of the fight, so damn sad, they flopped with how easy Meteon EX was, and now this is just as easy. Thank you for the guide, looking forward to clear tonight.
regarding meteors, ive had an instance where we kept dying to it not hitting the meteors like shown in the video which results in my side getting killed by the "shooting balls" is it because the distance between meteors actually matters? like itd hit the rock in the back instead of front like were we too far back?
The 'shots' come from the middle of the platform. The closer you drop your meteors to the middle of the platform, the less likely they are to break the ones in back first.
I'm thinking that dropping the second set of meteors onto the platform (first one into the void) is safer and minimize the amount of movement people have to do, while also having everyone floating for both sets (so, less damage when meteors drop).
The N/S Prio seems faster to figure out then the "Brain dead" fixed bridge pattern. Also N/S Prio looks and sounds more brain dead then the other strat
It almost seems like R1/R2 don't have to move during the world shifts in second phase after positioning for the first one. Wanted to confirm if that is correct.
Is there a reason in Divide and Conquer that you swap DPS so that G2 to left and G1 to right when in all other mechanics G2 is right and G1 left? Wouldn't it just be easier and less confusing to have G1 left and G2 right for all mechanics?
I've seen groups in pf today trying to stack all the flares and they just end up annihilating most groups due to lack of mitigation. I much prefer the other way of doing them.
People call strats braindead because that's the one they personally use and don't want to learn an easier one, not because it IS the easier one to use. Most of the time, it's not- looking directly at ice phase for this one.
My random PF blind prog group just entered the Coronation phase, and are the tethers random each time? So i could get the left laser in one run, and then top laser on the next? Or it's also role specific?
Thanks for the guide! For divide&conquer we’ve been doing yolo spreads left/right in groups and just keeping the middle safe for the second hit. It’s a bit more movement, but it’s way less precise and easier to coordinate
Why aren't we just using light party for bridges? Lp1 N, Lp2 S Tank/melee left, Heal/ranged right? Or some such. Seems intuitive for what most fights already jave us do.
The icicle determines if you have to go left or right. If you get unlucky with how icicles tether, LP1 N LP2 S could have all players from the same light party using the same bridge, which is tight.
Apparently for divide and conquer my searing light buff wasn't reaching the dps on the top right corner when i was standing top left, so that's maybe something to keep in mind while spreading there.
This was why I put DPS nearer to middle; our monk kept missing people with his Brotherhood when out at the edge. I'd 100% recommend doing the order so that players with aoe raid buffs are nearer to middle.
Hey Hector. From what I can tell if people use your guide it will end up very similar to a PF strat called L9 on light data center (EU). I guess the one difference is we do rotate when hiding behind meteors starting NW going CW. Otherwise its all the same as long as you also use Fixed Bridges and cheese absolute authority.
been waiting for this one! Fight looks fun, if a little long 😅 radical shift looks like a bit of a pain though. 15:23 you say it's rotating clockwise "or across the front its rotating right to left" but wouldnt that be left to right across the front and right to left across the back? Gonna have to remember the rotation across the bottom/back is the one that matters cuz if its swirling in a circle it seems like either platform could rotate onto the field depending on which half of the circle youre considering.
I recommend taking a look at a POV of it, as this might make it make more sense. Nothing to remember, as long as you spot the rotation direction, which platform will appear is very intuitive.
@@HectorHectorson ah yea I checked it out, its whirling around perpendicular to the floor rather than parallel with it so they move in a way that is really hard to illustrate in the top-down view. Definitely makes it much more intuitive, thanks! Forgive my speaking in ignorance, I didnt think about the 3rd dimension and shouldve looked up an actual pov vid first :P
If you drop on platform first, if someone messes up, you can save the run by having someone drop on platform second. Nice to have that adjust available.
It was found there is spots to stand for every Radical Shift where it overlaps all three zones. But it is kinda tricky to pick them out quickly. Thank you very much for the guide. Some graphics confused me a bit, but during gameplay I recognized them and easily overcome it. I think EX3 > EX1 > EX2 in terms of fun, mechanics, and overall feeling. Just cleared it!
There is no reason to return to the ground to place the first meteors. The ones on the ground should instead go up to place then drop the second out.
It's worth mentioning that during radical shifts, you can just stand in both colors and adjust after. There's plenty of time.
That way, you dont have to look at the background or the sides.
So you can keep staring at your hotbar. ❤
This gets tricky with certain combos tho. Ice and the X can be tough
@@planedonut It's mostly a matter of who moves, as long as people stand in pairs when moving between platforms.
the little jumps for the keep moving is just great
For blackfire, we can just drop puddles all together, mit and stay stacked at the end. No need to move. Thank you for the guide.
Killing it as always, brother. Thanks for the guide!
pf has been chaos trying do ice without half the group wiping. hopefully this helps.
This
ye because most of them did melee front bridge and range back bridge
the issue is that if the 2 healers have to go left and the 2 tanks have to go right => they'll take the same bridge and will fall
we did what hector showed as fixed bridge for day1 clear and it worked perfectly (in links take in bridges, out links take out bridges), so everyone takes one bridge, and when u need to come back mid, it's opposit order and u take the same bridge
There is still enough time to position, just dont rush it.
That's where I'm currently stuck at lol
Ice? Most PF parties keep wiping on meteors, it's a celebration to even see the ice phase let alone clear it orz
pf really needed this, i absolutely hated going into a pf and spending 20 min just to learn about the strats they use, like damn
LOl yeah. I didn't even attempt the fight yet until Hector dropped his guide. Now Ill join PF groups that only uses Hector strats.
I mean there were other guides out 🤣, I only watch hectors for the strats that late adopters will force me to do if I go in pf after his guide goes up.
fr, I got headaches from it
Was waiting for the guide before try hard the fight! Always the best! Keep up!
wow thats no fun!
@ i did prog blind but have to time to sit there and do all blind sadly so i have to know the fight
Stayed till the end of the video for that cutest cat, is worth it !!! (lel)
Thanks for the guide video, much appreciated.
I would imagine things will be very messy with PF, but one can only keep trying (practice makes perfect).
Thanks!
Therefore, the only viable way to execute the TTTT strategy is to swap out the Tank who receives the Stack Marker during the second cycle.
thank you as always for your guides Hector. I was literally waiting to go in :)
You're the man Hector.....unifier of PF groups and savior of casuals ^.^ I tried savage this expansion for the first time following your videos and now have full BiS....thank you!
for dropping meteors in earth phase, my FC last night found there was less movement overall and fewer opportunities for error if handled this way:
if you have no marker and you're staying on your platform to soak a tower, you drop both meteors on the platform. the person who soaks the north tower drops the two north meteors and the person who soaks the south tower soaks the south meteors.
Im sure mav is hectors chief editor , no doubt. Great guide 👏
14:04 TTTT is a 50/50 to kill a tank. If the tank who got the stack on the 2nd set gets the stack on the 4th set, they will die -- they have to invuln on the 2nd, which will run out by the time they need to take the 4th.
Love how fixed bridge strat is called brain dead, but every party im in wipes to it. Guess everyone starts acting brain dead lol.
People panic on both strats
Ty for being the guide goat for FFXIV
I really feel like guides should mention during divide in conquer people can end up out of buff range if they sit at the edge of hitbox during this the entire time
Correct me if im wrong but is there even a 2 minute there?
@@shelflord1686 2 minute comes out exactly at that time. I have had people trying to be back to avoid lines and overlap miss out on tech step, if you have buffers in your group being inside the hitbox is a necessity.
You don't need all 4 people to go down onto the platform to drop the meteors as well, since everyone is targeted for two sets. You can have a less-movement version of any type of meteor pattern by simply having the two people who were targeted for the line/circle stay floating off the platform and drop both sets into the abyss, while having the two tower-soakers per platform place all 4 meteors.
I love the disdainful whimper at saying "braindead"
Thanks hector! Already cleared but hopefully this helps to unify the strats more instead of having to adjust to diff strats every single party
Is it really possible to clear this at i710 party?
Cause I'm starting to doubt, cause the lowest I've been to seeing fake enrage is about 34%
Or is this recommend at i720?
Thanks for the guide this really helped a lot
Babe, wake up, Hector strats just dropped
Yay!! Thanks as always! GOAT of guides!
Yea cause casters are so hard pressed during meteors. Lmao what the hell are you talking about😂
@ Basically we just let the Casters (my static runs double casters too) and Healers stay floating and not moving so they keep casting without being interrupted by movement. Melees have free movement anyways and dropping meteors they won’t lose uptime too, so what’s the problem of doing like this?
Grow up.
you are back . Thank you !
I prefer the fixed bridge pattern couse i dont have to look at the person in front of me which side he has to pick. The less i have to think of other palyers the better. fixed makes it so you just look at the tether and there is no question asked to should you check if someone takes the same bride or not.
Lmao, the audible sigh at "braindead strat" xD
Is there a way you can make a mini-guide for meteor drops where the two on the platform drop all four? Two first set, two second set to make a box while the two people already floating stay out; reduces the amount of gravity jank needed.
So I was just doing a party for this. Died to the enrage in phase 1 but... I thought she was supposed to go to phase 2 after that if she was at 0.1%? Or did she have JUST enough HP to survive and kill us? Because that's BS if that's the case.
Yuuup. Seen this a few times. The trigger to see phase 2 seems to be for the boss to be below 0.1%, meaning she can be ON 0.1% and still enrage.
For meteors just stay afloat the whole time, that way you don't have to deal with the float bs
I heard that hesitation on Fixed Bridge(Braindead), and I completely get it. Thank you for your guides.
Made it to the radical shift part on first lockout then my group had to stop... I didn't expect this to be the very end of the fight, so damn sad, they flopped with how easy Meteon EX was, and now this is just as easy. Thank you for the guide, looking forward to clear tonight.
regarding meteors, ive had an instance where we kept dying to it not hitting the meteors like shown in the video which results in my side getting killed by the "shooting balls"
is it because the distance between meteors actually matters?
like itd hit the rock in the back instead of front
like were we too far back?
The 'shots' come from the middle of the platform. The closer you drop your meteors to the middle of the platform, the less likely they are to break the ones in back first.
Where is a good place to post alternate solutions? I have an uptime coro I'd like to dump somewhere.
I'm thinking that dropping the second set of meteors onto the platform (first one into the void) is safer and minimize the amount of movement people have to do, while also having everyone floating for both sets (so, less damage when meteors drop).
Wont you make new Ultimate guide?
The N/S Prio seems faster to figure out then the "Brain dead" fixed bridge pattern.
Also N/S Prio looks and sounds more brain dead then the other strat
17:00 I can imagine Queen Eternal suddenly wearing a taped on mask of Pandaemonium's Face for that moment in the guide. 😂
Is there a reason the gravity thing doesn’t work sometime
The groan after "braindead pattern" is SO cute... LMAO
Coronation:
DPS cardinals
Supports Intercardinals
CCW, drone side
be on markers
that's it
It almost seems like R1/R2 don't have to move during the world shifts in second phase after positioning for the first one. Wanted to confirm if that is correct.
11:21
why did you hesitated there?
Is there a reason in Divide and Conquer that you swap DPS so that G2 to left and G1 to right when in all other mechanics G2 is right and G1 left? Wouldn't it just be easier and less confusing to have G1 left and G2 right for all mechanics?
just an error. I show the intended spread positions at about 45s in.
I've seen groups in pf today trying to stack all the flares and they just end up annihilating most groups due to lack of mitigation. I much prefer the other way of doing them.
Is there a reason, why you missed the ice plattforms on "The End?" and how people have to position?
People call strats braindead because that's the one they personally use and don't want to learn an easier one, not because it IS the easier one to use. Most of the time, it's not- looking directly at ice phase for this one.
My random PF blind prog group just entered the Coronation phase, and are the tethers random each time? So i could get the left laser in one run, and then top laser on the next? Or it's also role specific?
Entirely random. I haven't noticed any pattern.
Thanks for the guide! For divide&conquer we’ve been doing yolo spreads left/right in groups and just keeping the middle safe for the second hit. It’s a bit more movement, but it’s way less precise and easier to coordinate
although today's PF used the video method and it wasn't nearly as precise as I was imagining
We did exactly the same strat as you during a blind party tonight. It was easier and more safe for us.
I can already sense Aether pf imploding with Hector showing ccw coronation and corner meteors.
I’ve gotta ask what’s the glam on the thumbnail and the hair name?
Why aren't we just using light party for bridges? Lp1 N, Lp2 S
Tank/melee left, Heal/ranged right? Or some such. Seems intuitive for what most fights already jave us do.
The icicle determines if you have to go left or right. If you get unlucky with how icicles tether, LP1 N LP2 S could have all players from the same light party using the same bridge, which is tight.
@HectorHectorson okay, good to know, thanks!
Is it intended that M1 and R1 are standing on the right side for spread? should'nt they normally spread on the left side with H1 and Mt?
Yup, that's just an error. Check 0:48 for the actual spreads I used for that mechanic.
Ok thx
Apparently for divide and conquer my searing light buff wasn't reaching the dps on the top right corner when i was standing top left, so that's maybe something to keep in mind while spreading there.
This was why I put DPS nearer to middle; our monk kept missing people with his Brotherhood when out at the edge. I'd 100% recommend doing the order so that players with aoe raid buffs are nearer to middle.
@HectorHectorson yeah was mainly a comment to maybe have others keep that in mind 🙂 great work as always!
that groan about it being called brain dead is so real: its not at all brain dead. its more squeeze for less juice. lol
Your guide lead my static to quite a few clears tonight, i'll never watch a guide that isn't 'Hector strats'
Can u please add macro for markers to your videos? At least starting from this
Can’t wait for harrowing hell 2.0 at the end there. That should be fun. (Cries in healer ptsd)
been waiting for this one!
Why would you drop the first meteors on the platform when it’s less movement to drop the second
If you drop on platform first, if someone messes up, you can save the run by having someone drop on platform second. Nice to have that adjust available.
awesome guide! gonna give this a shot; as i havent EX since shadowbringers and missed out EX 6.0 XD
I’m leave a ty for every video been helpful for.
Thank you
More to come I gotta back a bit lol
Pf going to be able to clear now( easier)
.. THANK YOU
Thanks a lot for the guides.
Feedback that you can ignore - I find the out-of-sequence introduction confusing. It makes it difficult to know where the mechanics actually start.
It was found there is spots to stand for every Radical Shift where it overlaps all three zones. But it is kinda tricky to pick them out quickly.
Otherwise, you pretty much hit the same stuff my group realized when we got our clear. ^-^
GL to everyone out there with your clears, and thanks for another great video, Hector.
plz don't. it wipes groups with too many braindead players that can't do a single mechanic as they can't seem to spread as well
