- the mission (almost impossible) to get murasama on early game (and break through game progression).
The Murasama is a post-Moon Lord melee weapon resembling a sword. It can be found in The Underworld's Bio-center Arsenal Lab, contained within a Security Chest. Although Murasama is technically attainable in Pre-Hardmode, it cannot be swung until Jungle Dragon, Yharon has been defeated in the current world. It possesses a larger than normal critical strike chance. ( calamitymod.fa... )

Good thing no more Jetstream Sam and such in Draedon update. Finally people will understand it's actually balanced when used in the proper stage

Quick FYI for those who don’t know, this weapon is a reference to the game Metal gear rising revengence, this sword as you could probably guess is the sword used by one of the games antagonists, Jetstream Sam , the whole ID lock thing was also something that was shown in said game, hence why it was made as an Easter egg in calamity.
I don't think he should be called "villain" tho, it was thanks to him that Raiden could defeat Armstrong cause of his blade.
He was also testing Raiden if he could be worthy for the blade Nad he also knew he was gonna need it to fight armstrong

You can also Bypass the Murasama's Yarhon requirement if you combo it with the Boreal Enchantment from Fargo's Souls Mod, for what ever reason, the Snowballs it shoots out Damage scales with the weapon your holding, with no limit, all you have to do is make some Boreal Wood gear, some snowballs, and put the painter in the snow biome, and it's as good as yours to deal almost end game damage right at the start of the game.

I have always known you're a man of culture but that Dead Cells music confirmed that. Thank you for it. It just... resonates with me so much. On my first calamity playthrough, I named my character Sam because I was planning on being a summoner, then I learned I could use this weapon. This was while it was still in a shrine so I just used some obsidian skin pots and found it. Made early Hardmode and boss farming a breeze.

Reminds me of how a friend and I decided to start a playthrough with the goal of eventually wielding Murasama, and to add to the joke we named our players after Sam and Raiden respectively (not remembering that Sam’s name would allow early usage) all while turning Revengeance difficulty on even though I hadn’t played Terraria in 4 whole years. And then my friend obtained the Murasama somehow and we vowed to only use it for dealing with excessive grinding and clearing out the jungle biome lmao
My sword is a tool of jungle clearing, not to be used in cheesing, but now im not so sure...and besides this isn't my sword

When you drop into the lab from the top, you can drop sand in first to block their bullets, then drop down and mine them through the walls you've created. It works every time.

I'm just facepalming myself constantly when you tried to get into the the Bio-Centre. You could've just got a grappling hook, and build walls from the top and descend while also building walls.
Same here, why didn't he use blocks to block the lasers?
Or just use the reverse tunnel strategy. Every possible area you create a tunnel to block off what is ahead of you, and extend it by a few blocks and mine the previous “walls”. Rinse and repeat.

I remember on my friend’s calamity world, he spent about 2+ hours grinding far enough so he was prepared to get me the red Murasama,but we hadn’t done a lot of the things in the world, especially not too many of the bosses, and I wasn’t named Jetstream Sam, so we were both upset we couldn’t use the cool new sword he got me. Every time we killed a boss, I’d try it, when it finally worked we both screamed lol.
I once had a mod interaction where I had Snatcher, the Cursed Prince from AlchemistNPC. I killed enough things to unlock his final ability, basically a explosion on enemies that used your currently held weapon for damage.
I figured out I could hold Murasama and everything would just automatically die around me.
Thanks for helping me get murasama as the first thing in calamity mod lol!

Who would've guessed that a weapon you normally get after the 2nd to last boss in the mod would be really good against pre-hardmode bosses and enemies
I mean yeah, but the thing solos the ENTIRE BOSSRUSH, the one that giveS DoG his insta-kill and was designed for shadowspec gear… murasama was and still is broken even relative to its intended level.

@@martim5800 it kinda does, even with the nerf it’s dps is ridiculous. Just not scarlet devil (the actual strongest weapon in the entire mod) levels anymore.

Honestly I like the nerf done to the Murasama. Not only does it prevent you from cheesing bosses even further but it makes more sense that the mursama only deals damage one per full swing.
