REVIEW $24 HID KIT FROM EBAY
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 25 сен 2014
- The initial review of this HID kit seem quite good. The ballast internals are insulated well. The ballast case is all metal. The measured AC voltage is a steady 100VAC. Start up time is about 30 seconds. If this kit last couple of years, then it's a good buy, but of course only time will tell as to the quality of the parts.

I've got the same kit and it's lasted me over 3 years now going on 4
I purchased almost 5 kits of 55watt AC HID's from Chinese on-line retailers. All 4 kits was installed into 2 cars and only experienced once that 2 ballasts died simultaneously in less than 1 year. The rest of the ballast are still working without issues. I kept 1 pair of ballast and a few pairs of HID bulbs 8000k's as my spares.
Great price. Also liked how you test the voltage. Dial2fast your pretty smart. 100 volts is alot. Home voltage i believe is 120. Also I see in your comments that they still work, then I'd say it was good enough quality. 😀
The schmoo inside the ballast is not for waterproofing. It is electrical insulation against arcing inside the ballast, because the voltage needed to strike the lamp is so high, it could easily jump a gap of 1cm. If there would be no schmoo, arcing would occur inside the ballast, and it would be destroyed immediatly.
Great in depth review and product detail. Cant go wrong for $24. Looks like a better Chinese made hid kit.
Thank for your comment!
how much difference for 35w/55w on hid bulb
I had a few that seemed to be the same quality and they have been working pretty good for me. But I also did add a bit of my own water proofing to it. You also want to make sure the they are securely mounted.
An important piece of information to add is that retro-fit HID kits such as this one are unsafe and illegal. The light pattern causes glare, making it very difficult for drivers in both directions to see the road, vehicles and signs safely. In addition, the uncontrolled light spread make them look really cheap.
Seller wasen't making enough money so they cut corners. The casing now is plastic with aluminum back to dissipate heat, 21 dollars though, not sure how the longevity compares.
Great video!! Those cheap hid kits from ebay really works but stay away from xentenc !!
atomizer plus why??
Why stay away from that company what would you recommend would be better
all the cheap ones i find are branded xentenc including the metal ballast that looks like the one in the video
do u think that Pro max ballast are good on ebay? or has someone in here know can u let me know
i baught hids from ebay i have the same ballast he does they are a good brand mine have lasted for 3 years now i have 10000k on a dodge charger 9006-HB4
can you give as link where you bought. ?
I bought this product. The plugs should be cut and soldered up I reckon and hopefully that solves the issue with the Hids not starting up on occasion either that or the ballasts are playing up. The seller's were A+ hands down had dramas straight away and they really looked after me the second I said something.
Great video thanks, I hope it lasts a while for you. Ive had mixed experience with hid kits.
i was worried about which ones to get so far so good even on the inexpensive sets i'm interested in 55w but i know a seller that has 70w $98 i liked the 6000k diamond white anyhow those look nice and bright in your video i remember hids used to cost $200 plus $300 to install but I refused to pay that price my friends did though i was like for some lights? i'll bring my own kit and let the man install them now i'll install my own
1:38 "Obviously the quality is not that great." Do you judge the quality of something based on the stickers?
Have you noticed radio interference with this set?
Great video. Thanks!
One should say something about the capacitors. Good long lived capacitors are expensive and they are not the only components that die an untimely death....but in cheap audio and and any other equipment cheap capacitors are definitely the first components to go.
I had these sales ballesta before. Water got inside & was messing with them. Had to seal them up
can I use these two bulbs in cbr...?
Are these the Duratec ones? they look almost identical. They cost $36 now though. Wish I could of bought them for $23.
Are they still running? If not how long did they last?
Yes, still working
dial2fast I found a kit very similar to yours www.ebay.com/itm/201443619631 , even the price is dead on 24$. The only beef i got is it isn't advertised as AC, but I'm 99% sure it is. I'm not even gonna bother with messaging the seller since he mostly sells pants and shirts so I'm pretty sure he doesn't know :/
dial2fast $24 for 2 years going on 3?? I'd go for it any day!! People need to remember that DRL (daytime running lights) play a huge factor in HIDs burning out. The ballast aren't made to run on a rapid pulsing mode that DRLs operate in. Keep that in mind before bashing an HID brand
They are good for flashlights.
I brought one very similar to this kit, except they put sand in it and it cost $6 extra.
was it a good buy now that it has been a few years ?
+drew peacock Still works fine but i notice the seller no longer sell this model.
+dial2fast do those HID lights still working
+Jose Viera Yes
I really did like that video that you did I was thinking about doing that with my 04 BMW
Thaanks for sharing knowledge
can I install HID bulbs in a normal halogen lamp? what is recommended
+Shaharyar Latif Not recommended as it has a lot of glare to on coming traffic. You can add a casper shield to reduce the glare. See how to make one here: ruclips.net/video/-XFYbJn68U0/видео.html
+dial2fast the stock lamp contains one halogen bulb so I have to install bi xenon's....... any alternative to Casper shield? can I use projectors in the stock lamp?
you get what you pay for, the HID conversion for my gsxr was $250 and the ones for my rx8 are $1200. I'm not saying that $24 isn't good, I'm just saying for $24 what do you expect? I'm not sure I'd even put those on my car, I'd be afraid of damage to my car
eh that work I use them they're not gonna damage your car.the hid kit u got may last a long time, but you paid waaaaaay too much for headlights you could replace these a bunch of times b4 meeting those costs
pmm4177 $1200!?!?!?!?!?! Are you fucking insane!!?!?!?!?!?
JM811Cars those are factory HID'S in my rx8 and that's the replacement cost.
Steven Morookian true you could replace cheap ones many times over BUT I highly doubt they're gonna burn out at a good time
I've had some ebay hid before lasted 3+years only reason they stopped working was because I got into an accident.
it's almost a year, is it still working? can you please provide the similar kit on ebay where you buy this particular HID kit?
+Phong V Tran Yes, still working but unfortunately the seller stopped selling this model. That's the problem with eBay where sellers and products come and go.
What do you do if you need hi/lo from the same bulb, like a 9004 halogen replacement?
Do HID kits offer this?
Yes, they have them. Either a HID with a second bulb attached or some move the bulb mechanically.
dial2fast
Is the hidkit still working? And do you live in the "cold"?
Yes still working. I put them in my fogs
dial2fast
Good to hear, i'll place an order soon!
thanks for the video, can you say the brand that you bought since there are too many hid at that price, thanks
It was bought on Ebay many years ago and it has no brand name.
thanks for the reply, I searched before and I bought a set of Xentec for like $30 and they were horrible on my application,,, and yours seem to work fine,,, without a brand its a gamble , thanks anyways ill keep searching for a ok set
Y U no video outside in the DARK!!! ? my Hero =/
I ordered a kit from Aliexpress, hopefully it'll be good. I just picked the one with the best reviews.
Topias Salakka how is it? I’m debating on buying some
Was there a brand name of the HID kit
+JAGExecutiveServicesInc No branding on it.
They're still working today?
TeoBong answer him, please
solaire astora he said that they are
ny link man?
Did it work great cause the price is so cheap maybe in a few months its gone
Still working so far.
What seller on ebay did u buy these lights from
Ebay seller is 'supremexenonpro' but price have gone up by $10 since I bought it.
does you ballast still works?
Yo Stop Yes still using it. No problem
Too hot for fog lights you gonna melt down the housing, you should use high power LEDs
jake90770 Fog lights use headlight bulbs...
JM811Cars yeah but HID bulls runs way hotter than halogen bulbs I did it to my fog lights and a few hours later the reflective chrome inside next to the bulb burned out.
jake90770 it depends on the car I guess, because I've used HIDs in multiple vehicles fog lights without issue.
really? I have hid top and bottom on Durango and I drive with them for like 1 hour nothing happens and it's both reflective housing
My pro max hid says it's made in Japan, Japanese products will beat any us product
For 25$ a kit it's hard to go wrong with that. definitely chinese made and they probably didn't go thru our rigorous testing for consumers. The Chinese violate human laws then violate our laws by shipping them to anyone. quick story, my lighting supplier had his chinese supplier in one day and I had a chance to see the new product coming in, that's when I found out they were not having them U.L. listed which means I cannot technically install them because they were not tested for safety. is there a cool down for the lights after you have turn them off before they turn back on?
Automotive accessories such as these have little quality control. You just hope the product was designed well enough that it won't die in weeks or months. After much looking, even the $60 - $80 China HID kits are a hit or miss when it comes to durability. With my test in the video, I did let them cool down before turning them back on in the demonstration you saw. Overall this kit performed well, but time will tell if it stays this way.
dial2fast I really like the way it looks on the fog-lights of your Nissan Quest.
Connor Jacobson Thanks!
just like the chinese air bags is all of our cars!!!! lol
dial2fast its been 5 months how they holding up?
Flash tech over priced trash that burnt out quick my friend said and i later confirmed. My friends hid kit ballasts died in less then 6 months and spent more then a 100.00 down the drain. the "owner " on the phone was so ignarant dealing with the matter they didnt even want to pay for the shipping to help with the loss of costs. He said the company should be renamed fuck tech and sadly i agree.
I love to have the ebay vendor name or link
Ebay seller name is " supremexenonpro". Also listed in the description.
