As mentioned already it’s The Great Ghost Rescue from 2011 which was an adaptation of a book from the Seventies and starred the likes of Kevin McKidd, Anthony Head and Tracey Ann Obermann. It’s also narrated by Jason Issacs so, whilst Kim Newman will always be a legend, it seems Mark phoned the wrong friend this time round!
I can't wait for next week if they check the comments and Mark finds this out!!!!🤣🤣🤣
A kermodian tragedy
This is like a cat not wanting to take a bath :)
Phoning Kim Newman made this the best wtf ever.
'Weirdly misremembered obvious thing that we all know'. Nailed it.
Now that DVD of the Week is gone, I find myself missing Simon's atrocious/wonderful opening jokes. Any chance of bringing them over to the WTF segment?
It's not gone, was on the podcast complete with "jokes". Mark chose West Side Story
@@drstarsky Thank you! I do like the bitesize nature of the youtube videos though. I hope they bring the segment back here.
It's The Great Ghost Rescue (2011). In the last few months I've seen it mentioned at least a dozen times online. I think it scarred more than scared a generation.
Where's DVD of the week?
Wasnt posted last week - my fave part of the show 😭
@@Papaflo seconded.
The podcast of the full show is available if you really want to hear it.
THE GREAT GHOST RESCUE, it was better than I expected.
What was the tv film made in the seventies, about a group of passengers on a airliner .
As the film progresses you find out from the individuals that they all been in accidents.
The aircraft lands on a island , and slowly they all come to the conclusion they are dead.
I know it was turned into a long running TV series several years ago, but I have spent a decade trying to find out the title of the original TV made film from the seventies
Come on film buffs , help me.
That was called Millennium. TV movie remade into a series later. No idea why I remember it!
My wife now hates me, she forgot all about trying to explain this film to me. Which I said 'email Pain and Pleasure. And see if anyone knows the answer'. Oh no she has done, and what worse, you have read it out, silly me then made the wife list to it. Which then started the pain of her try to remember the name of the film again.
Great fan, med term listener.
GCSE Mathematics grade 1
GCSE English Grade 4(resat got a low grade 5, so ,4 stands).
Up with Ukraine PM/comics (not the UK version)
Down with dictators (any version).
I have one for y'all. I think the lead is either Charlton Heston or James Coburn. He's an advertising executive and the film starts with him going through the various radio stations, checking to make sure the ads he's responsible for are being played at the correct time. Life is just rosey for the guy, or so we think, until he drives his sports car under the wheels of a truck. That's just the opening 5 minutes.
WTWMOTTWAK?
Harvesting Ghostly Essence sounds like a good name for a metal band.
Hate it when im late to the party cos now its been guessed haha
I do love this feature!
It bears a superficial resemblance to a TV show called the Ghost Hunter, but I'm not sure how similar they are because I don't remember the details. Ghost stories aren't really my thing.
Also, the Ghost Hunter was a TV show, but I'm sure there are people who think they are remembering a film when they are actually remembering a TV show.
That's what I thought
It's not Casper!
The Watcher in the Woods I think.
