- The Tropicana Hotel and Casino has certainly seen better days but it won't see many more. The historic property is closing its doors on April 2, 2024 for ever to make room for a MLB Stadium. Maybe some people will miss this property but this change is ultimately for the better 👍🏼

I'm almost 52 years old...I stayed here 28 years ago and although the rooms were not in good condition with chairs falling apart, bad bedding....It did have a great mini fridge and the best part was the outdoor patio that you can open and have a smoke!! Dollar blackjack, free parking, free everything, super cheap buffet, super polite and not so entitled dealers..... I'm GONNA MISS THIS PLACE!! Just like the Stardust and other iconic hotel casinos....DAMN...Like really..DAMN!!!!

I remember hanging out at the arcade by the pool when I was a kid.
I remember doing "The Mob Experience" at the Tropicana like 12 years ago. Was honestly one of the coolest things I've ever done in Vegas.

I can see why Tropicana has the right to be shut down and imploded later on. I heard there’s a lot of wear and tear throughout the property from the casino areas, lobby, and guest rooms, especially the bathroom facilities not functioning properly. Plus bed bugs as well from time to time. And honestly for a 67 year old hotel, I’m not surprised if it has a lot of wear and tear because it’s an old property, and it’s not easy to remodel and/or fix the damages. I’m sorry to hear you had a somewhat disappointing experience, and now it’s time to say farewell to this resort after 67 years. Bye bye Tropicana👋 1957-2024

I remember going there many moons ago when they had the aerial show underneath the stained glass over the casino floor. Place used to be packed back then. It was a great vibe. So sad to see what it’s become. I will miss the old girl . Great old memories.

I stayed here my first visit to Vegas some 30 years ago. Mirrors over the beds, a great lobby w/live music, a great show in Folies Bergiere + I saw folks like Bob Newhart do stand up there...They used to have a big wheel outside you could spin, I still have the deck of cards I won there...
Sad to see this place go. I wonder where all the lamps and furniture are going? It would be nice to have a souvenir.

One drunken Vegas night over 15 years ago me and a buddy took a short cut back to the Luxor through the Trop. Not sure which was more of a dump the Trop or San Remo. Implode it and move on.
I stayed there a lot in 2007 & 08 with my dad and 95 year old grandfather who had been coming to the Trop since it open. They both have passed since then. I stayed before the remodel and 2016 went back after and the giant mirror over the casino was the only part of the casino that remained. A lot of good memories there. I also went when I was 13 in 96 and ran up a $200 movie rental bill from Happy Gilmore because I couldn't do anything else. Also met a girl at the pool that trip which was cool.
I think the remodel sucked and overall it was a dated casino, but I will miss it.

Of the historic Vegas locations that have been taken down, this one is by far the toughest for me. So many memories and such an important part of the city's history that there is even a street named after it. It is especially disappointing knowing that it was expected to stay open another year or more longer. There were better options to put the stadium. It did not have to be this way. ☹

Stay there 2009 it was a sad then but after the renovation 2011 I stay there in 2019 it was not bad.

The Trop is notoriously stern about video recording and even cell phone use, and that is why most RUclipsrs avoid it.. I once pulled my phone out at a roulette table for a massively important call and the dealers shouted with aggression so loud it startled everyone nearby. I hope you did make it to the comedy show Willie Barcena is one of my favorite comedians. Final note is I always ask to have the resort fee waived if I feel I couldn't get the most out of the resort such as you experienced.

Jenny, are you aware it had a one hundred 80 million dollar renovation just 11 years ago?? ! Ive stayed the 6 times since and it's quite nice, our rooms were nice, very clean and comfortable, ive never experienced BED BUGS THERE , and no issues with the plumbing.

Can’t believe they’d treat a paying customer in such a way! No wonder they’re closing. Vegas strip is a bit like natural selection. The best will survive and rude dirty hotels like the Tropicana will deservedly be replaced
Regarding the water you found in your room, when I stayed here and OYO, I read the fine print of the service fee I signed and they agree to provide water upon request. So I kept going to the front desk to get some of those little bottles and there was never any issue. Not sure if it's still the same or applies to service fees at other hotels but I def recommend all check out what's on the service fee and hold it to the hotel. Get those amenities!
Ya gotta drink a lot of water to make up for that $37 resort fee.
Ask first because they might charge you an exorbitant amount for each bottle you open.
Tear it down. I won't miss it. Nasty vibe all around.The only reason I ever went inside Tropicana is to see and support Jason Tenner amd the Purple Reign crew and I am thrilled he will be at Planet Hollywood going forward.

Sorry (not sorry) if this sounds harsh as I genuinely sympathize for the many who have stayed at the Tropicana during its glory days and understandably feel sad to see this place go..................but it's been running on fumes for the past quarter-century and I simply feel it's one of those resorts that would have been best served just demolishing years ago as is if no one was willing to make a complete multi-million dollar renovation of it. It's just simply been a desolate eyesore for a long while now needlessly taking up space that would be better served for a brand new resort.
And it's frankly highway robbery they've decided to keep open yet fence off large swaths of the resort from everyone, including the pool. Either permanently close your resort sooner, or else set a closing date with the expectation that everyone who chooses to stay and give their final goodbyes to the place can actually ACCESS the full resort. It's just scummy to me they're charging resort fees in its final days.

I don't get the whole thing about you not being able to shoot video! This is ridiculous because Norma just did an entire Tropicana video where she got a lot of video and she appeared to be escorted around by an official who opened doors for her. Not sure why you got horrible treatment, man!
The workers were being mean for no reason hotel about to close. I seen two videos with people recording. The hotel closing was owner decision take attitude up with that person.
