That's great, glad you can do what you can, because I'm exhausted and was not up for long and went back to bed and finally got up again around 12 to eat lunch. I'm in a powerchair myself. This heat is not helping.. ran the fan and so on, full blast. Microwave is beeping at me need to go reheat my pizza for 30 seconds.

A couple of tips that might be useful for some people:
    1. If you're disabled, you can get the binmen to collect and return your wheely bin to say outside the front door - there should be a form on your local council website (usually district or borough level).
    2. Halfords do a tyre change at home service: book a slot and they'll come to you with the equipment and tyres. It takes about 10 minutes and they just need enough room to get to the tyres.

My bin men are good at collecting bins & recycling from right outside my door but are a nightmare for then leaving the bins, recycling boxes & bags all over the path both mine & the neighbours. If it's just bins I can have fun sending the empty bins flying lol but if its the recycling bags & boxes... well I have ended up with the bag handles wrapped round a powerchair wheel, been unable to get it untangled & had to drag it several streets until the handle falls apart, have also run over many box lids breaking them. Council must wonder what the heck is going on on this street as they must have people ordering new box lids & bags very frequently because of me!

It was nice to see how you got your chair into your car on the way to Heathrow. I'm in the middle of the process of getting my first chair. I'm ambulatory, and because I'm in mid-town Toronto, don't have a car.
But when I eventually move to the UK I will have one, or at least do car share. While I could usually just pop it in the boot or back then walk around, there's some days where that wouldn't be a good idea. (EDS + dysautonomia).
I'm getting a rigid frame chair ("type" 4 here in Ontario, Canada), with low back.
The robot vac looks like an awesome idea!
BTW Do you know Izzy Wheels in Ireland? They have licensed Disney wheelchair wheel covers. You can also design your own and they'll print them!

Some people are lucky enough to have live-in support and so they don't tend to need to do a lot of things for themselves, so they aren't prepared when it does rarely happen. Someone with less (or no) support has to find ways to do things for themselves, so what may seem obvious to you or I may not be for someone with more substantial support. None of us know what we don't know. I have my shopping delivered so on the rare occasion I pop into a supermarket when out, I don't have a grabber either, although I have lots at home!
