One of the most underrated, alternative rock ballads of any decade. I remember idiot DJs in Colorado Springs panning this song, and wondering ‘what she was doing’ with this direction. What she was doing…becoming an immortal Rock Goddess.
By far one of the most memorable live performance not only did she kill it the orchestra behind her killed it also!! ! I watched this live on MTV and it Is one of my favorite live concert performances!!! 2k24 still jam to this one!! RAW talent!!❤
Projecting falsetto with that kind of depth is incredibly difficult. I sang professionally as a saprano when i was younger. Im a little too young to have been into Alanis so i just got into it now. This is really very impressive. Being able to do this without harming your voice takes a LOT of work and talent.
THE MOST powerful performance I've ever seen... The precision is razor sharp and to know she sounds just like she does on her music cds. (BOWS in Respect)
Wait..this song came out around 1998? I know it was sometime in the late 90's. Then she sings this live at Grammy's..as far as I can tell..no lip syncing..when did she sing this live? Absolutely incredible..if it's live. No auto tune..it sounds exactly like the album version. I'm stunned..
Such an impressive performance, and while not only one of the best ever at the Grammy's, but one of her best. I read where Madonna was in the crowd that night, and was so impressed with Alanis's performance that she gave her a 55 thousand dollar watch.
That really surprises me about Madonna. She doesn't seem like the giving type? I guess I was wrong to judge her. Dang Madonna! I hope I can impress you one day..lol..
I literally just found this song while watching Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu…I was in my 20’s when she came out but I’ve always LOVED her voice!! MASTERPIECE❤❤❤
Hard to imagine that I didn’t fully appreciate this song until I saw this live performance. Not only is this a masterpiece song, it is absolutely one of the greatest single-song live performances of all time, along with Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers in 1965 (on The Andy Williams Show) and The Sound of Silence by Disturbed (on Conan in 2016). Masterful performance of an incredible song!
Uninvited" Like anyone would be I am flattered by your fascination with me Like any hot-blooded woman I have simply wanted an object to crave But you, you're not allowed You're uninvited An unfortunate slight Must be strangely exciting To watch the stoic squirm Must be somewhat heartening To watch shepherd meet shepherd But you, you're not allowed You're uninvited An unfortunate slight Like any uncharted territory I must seem greatly intriguing You speak of my love like You have experienced love like mine before But this is not allowed You're uninvited An unfortunate slight I don't think you unworthy But I need a moment to deliberate
Thank you so much for the lyrics❤❤I was a bit tripped up on that “unfortunate slight” line but this song is AMAZING!! It’ll never get old or dull…THANK YOU!❤❤
Wonder what the other genres of music talent were thinking. Would love to see their faces while she was singing. Hope they appreciate the beauty in this song/in her voice.
Jay, go ahead and double-up, no one will mind,. You need to do the live grammy video performance. you can see all those beautiful violins. and her vocal is… better? hard to believe
Like anyone would be I am flattered by your fascination with me Like any hot-blooded woman I have simply wanted an object to crave But you, you're not allowed You're uninvited An unfortunate slight Must be strangely exciting To watch the stoic squirm Must be somewhat heartening To watch shepherd meet shepherd But you, you're not allowed You're uninvited An unfortunate slight Like any uncharted territory I must seem greatly intriguing You speak of my love like You have experienced love like mine before But this is not allowed You're uninvited An unfortunate slight I don't think you unworthy But I need a moment to deliberate
This was right in the middle of grunge and I was and still am a huge fan of that era of music. I have to admit because of my young age at the time guessing early to mid 20s I let her music sort of slip bye. I was hearing her but I wouldn’t admit it! Took me until my mid 30’s to finally embrace how great of an artist she truly is. I was a complete dumbass! She is and will always be on my playlist. My bad man.. my bad.
This woman straight up singing with a whole orchestra and band is next level confidence!
No Auto tone singing no wearing horrible sexy outfits just a classy 💯 woman and can sing like an angel a real musician hand's down
She looks so beautiful in that dress !
Heh, ever see her music before the manager was like, 'let's go rock'? lol
She is in another class altogether. It's a work of art. Art doesn't have anything to do with many performances of our day.
She’s amazing one of a kind
Exactly, she doesn't feel the need to be half naked and shaking every part of her body bc her singing and songwriting is so good!
The darkness inside of this song is extremely remarkable. It's hauntingly beautiful.
...and beautifully haunting...
Yes!! Exactly the feeling it just gave me while watching it
Such a tune!
One of the most underrated, alternative rock ballads of any decade.
I remember idiot DJs in Colorado Springs panning this song, and wondering ‘what she was doing’ with this direction.
What she was doing…becoming an immortal Rock Goddess.
I forgot that the Grammy`s were good at one time.
What you said. 😂
This makes me horrifically depressed that I no longer live in this era...
Same, going on 63 but we enjoyed it when it was born🙌
Those people are extremely fortunate to have witnessed that unparalleled experience.
51 years old here and this song still gives me chills!
I'm a bit older and totally with you!!!
Me too
I'm also 51 and still getting chills.
She fucking killed this, what a performance
She *owns* that stage. She stands and delivers. Also, she looks so beautiful and elegant
She sings with such passion as tho she feels each word projecting that beautifully to us, so dramatic love this
I love this song! Those strings and all that dramatic drapery, this is one of the best Grammy performances of all time.
what year was this
@@lizaleeshealth1999 I believe.
This isn't a song..... it's an incantation......a thousand years ago Alanis would have been a high priestess :)
Has almost an ancient Egyptian feel to it, right?!?!
Why a thousand years ago? She IS a priestess
One of the best songs ever written. Fabulous lyrics. Angelic voice
Its like she’s asking nicely the first time and she gets louder the more she has to ask❤️ this song is epic
Such an underrated performance. It's so powerful
When music was musical. What a set of pipes!
a fuckin masterpiece. unmatched lyrics and vocals and not even her best version of this
That woman can *sing!* And she doesn't sound like *anybody* else.
This was a masterpiece then and it’s still a masterpiece now.
Well done Alanis! Pure perfection!
A beautiful song with mysteric dark overtones.
By far one of the most memorable live performance not only did she kill it the orchestra behind her killed it also!!
! I watched this live on MTV and it Is one of my favorite live concert performances!!! 2k24 still jam to this one!! RAW talent!!❤
Wow! This is real, raw talent. The way she commands the stage. Epic performance!
Unfortunately, todays generations will never understand!
Projecting falsetto with that kind of depth is incredibly difficult.
I sang professionally as a saprano when i was younger. Im a little too young to have been into Alanis so i just got into it now. This is really very impressive. Being able to do this without harming your voice takes a LOT of work and talent.
The definition of a perfect performance of a perfect song. It leaves me speechless every time! ❤
She took the word squirm and made it sound lovely
One of my most favourite songs ever. Very haunting with so much feeling.
Still gives me chills. Her voice, the orchestra.... 🔥🥰🥰
THE MOST powerful performance I've ever seen... The precision is razor sharp and to know she sounds just like she does on her music cds. (BOWS in Respect)

Madonna made shit ton of money of Alannis. her record label was only one to give Alannis a shot
That’s impressive, especially since Madonna frequently is on the list of worst tippers.
That really surprises me about Madonna. She doesn't seem like the giving type? I guess I was wrong to judge her. Dang Madonna! I hope I can impress you one day..lol..
My boy on the piano was gettin it.
This song and its entire production will always be timeless. Such a beautifully, perfect track.
Fucking amazing.
ICON 🎉🎉🎉
This is so beautiful. She’s singing this in damn near perfect pitch! I read somewhere she has it. This is wonderful!
Holy Crap, that was incredible. Nothing against Taylor Swift, she is awesome but there is no comparison.
Taylor has nothing on Alanis....... she is in her own world!!! She is just amazing
This person had an album that every song could have been a top 100 for that year. Something strange about her I cant pinpoint.
Oh yes genius
She is a true artist. This is music at its finest.
Never was a fan of hers, this song changed my mind forever
This is the absolute greatest performance of this because of the full symphony with it❤❤❤❤
This song gives me chills, belongs in a movie!
I literally just found this song while watching Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu…I was in my 20’s when she came out but I’ve always LOVED her voice!! MASTERPIECE❤❤❤
@Babigyrl1977 it's the soundtrack to city of angels 😇
Sweet mother of god this is AWESOME
Absolute perfection.. goosebumps..so deeply engrained in my SOUL
A real musician hand's down ❤️❤️❤️❤️ no showing her body or dressing stupid classy woman 💯🤘🤘🤘🤘 real music and lyrics
This made me tear up 😢
Damn that was good
Hard to imagine that I didn’t fully appreciate this song until I saw this live performance. Masterpiece indeed
Some songs only come alive when you see it live. Not that they are bad before but it just adds the feeling.
I think that's subjective. I could say 'Anytime you need a friend' in Tokyo by Mariah is one of the greatest performances of all time.
Try Ghost Love Score by Nightwish at Wacken Open Air 2013, you have never seen anything like this I promise
I remember this taking my fn breath away and NOBODY talking about it
Chills. Nothing of this caliber now. Pure talent minus the Vegas-y glitz!
Like...any heart-blooded woman, I have simply wanted an object to crave.
"But you, you're not allowed. You're Uninvited. An unfortunate...slight."
Excuse me for correcting but it's "hot-blooded" woman.😉
Simply one of the best years for Grammys performances. Alanis, Lauren Hill,Madonna, Ricky Martin etc. Never been one like it since.
This should have waaaay more views. WTH? That little yodel in her voice should be worth a half a mill, easy. Good song
I get those goose bumps
Without a doubt this is is a masterpiece from a amazing woman. Hands down !
This song and this live performance is a true masterpiece! I was in my early 20s when Alannas came out
Joya absoluta del buen rock sinfónico.❤
This whole song is a blockbuster!!!! Wow! So energetic!!!
The real grammy
Saw her live finally this year, she has such an enchanting and unique voice! So glad she preformed this song too :)
WOW I forget just how crazy and amazing she is and how fantastic this song is.
This song is one of my all-time favorites! I never get tired of it. Alanis is absolutely amazing!
Magnífico. Y pensar que ahora en los grammys premian a estúpidos que apenas balbucean. Es deprimente esta era.
Beautiful.....powerful...and its live...
It was also very fitting for the movie - but I think she kicked it up a notch in her writing to bring it to the music industry . Nice job !
This is about a stalker that broke into her place
Oh wow!! I didn’t know that, i did now it was dark but not the reason…. Thanks for sharing
Kills it! Nails it hard, to the wall! WOW
Uninvited"
Like anyone would be
I am flattered by your fascination with me
Like any hot-blooded woman
I have simply wanted an object to crave
But you, you're not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight
Must be strangely exciting
To watch the stoic squirm
Must be somewhat heartening
To watch shepherd meet shepherd
But you, you're not allowed
You're uninvited

Thank you so much for the lyrics❤❤I was a bit tripped up on that “unfortunate slight” line but this song is AMAZING!! It’ll never get old or dull…THANK YOU!❤❤
🙌🏻timeless. NEVER gets old. In fact , if anything, she is ahead of her time and her music will be like fine wine. Better with age
Yes now I know why I thought and still think she was something special!
Simply she was and is.
Chills.. so excellent
Simply Beautiful.
Stunning. Such a great rendition. Hauntingly beautiful AND powerful. ♡
Amazing! Goosebumps- this and “you oughta know “ performance are just phenomenal- Alanis is a legend.
Alanis morrisette is an amazing and truly talented artist! Love her !!!!

Someone, please, upgrade to 4K. .... Thank you for posting
Perfection!
What an awesome performance Man What a talent
Pure Talent
Stupendous, glorious, I have no words!! There are not many artists who can sing live. She does amazingly 🎉🎉🎉
Absolutely beautiful ❤
I remember i loved her hair that night total perfection
I love this woman. So classy. I love you live you learn.
Still don't think she is as good as Jane Austen :)
LOS VERDADEROS GRAMMYS ❤
God what a voice.
Wonder what the other genres of music talent were thinking. Would love to see their faces while she was singing. Hope they appreciate the beauty in this song/in her voice.

I saw her and Tori Amos openned for her. I went to see Tori ,but both ladies blew me away.
