Clearly, you have always had refined taste in music. So have I. While I was a social outcast in 8th grade, I was ridiculed to the 9th degree the moment I exposed how passionate I have always felt about Al Jarreau's music to some of the most shallow minded people I have tragically attracted into my life at the time..
It's such a shame that Al's music was rarely played in American radio with the exception of a few hits like After All, Mornin, We Are In This Love Together, Moonlighting and Just To Be Loved. That's only five songs out of hundreds of great songs he did. So Al had no choice but to go to Europe to perform because Europeans have incredible good taste in everything. Nestore Caldelari Visto ieri sera live, 75 anni ed un uomo fisicamente distrutto, ma una voglia di divertirsi e di divertire che non ha eguali. When Kem first came out, I was at a restaurant and they were playing him. One of the patrons referred to him as Al Jarreau's grandson. I quickly educated him on the fact that Kem studied Al but at best was a poor substitute. There was only one Al Jarreau and we were blessed to have been alive at such a time to enjoy his music, his spirit and his love.
I have been to a couple concerts, I've watched countless videos of AL, never did he ever include the song Moonlighting in the set. Can anyone explain why? That track introduced him to the world as far as I'm concerned.
