My name is Babar Ahmad. I spent 11 years in prison from 2004-2015 in two countries, the UK and the US.
Ten of those years were without trial so I did not know when, or if, I may ever be released.
Six of those years were in isolation, including two years in complete solitary confinement.
Every day this Ramadan I will be sharing a short, real-life story showing that Allah's help often comes when all hope is lost. Some of my stories will be from war, some from prison and others from daily life.

Beautiful story. I feel stuck and helpless at the moment. It’s like having myself between a rock and a hard place and I can’t see myself getting out of this situation. But Allah is All-Knowing and All-Hearing. I, too, have been making du’as to Allah to help me get out of this bad situation with ease and no complications. These are open secrets, in a Supermax prison there is a two way microphone to the control room so officers can hear what you are doing at any time.

I do not think it is befitting to ask Allah SWT by saying "You have to", please make the correction accordingly and tell us the most appropriate way to address Him SWT.
Thank you for your comment. I narrated what I said to Allah in my dua out of despair and He answered.
Actions are judged by intentions. Allah knew my intention and need behind the way I addressed him. “You have to,” I said as a close friend would say to another without imposing on him.
Nobody can impose anything on Allah or compel or force Him. He is the Master and we are the slaves.
With the greatest of respect if Allah did not have a problem with the way I addressed Him in a private dua (which I shared) then neither should anyone else.
The best way to address Allah SWT is the way the prophets addressed him in the Quran and the way the Prophet (as) did.
We are not entitled to an opinion on how others make dua to Allah because we don’t know the states of their hearts when they made that dua. Only Allah knows that.
