New Episode every Wednesday! The first episode of Osahra collaboration project with Two Dollars Twenty is now live! In this first episode I did the cross-border checkpoint from the neighbor country to Osahra! Little steps were made, more to come and this map is taking life fast and beautiful! The episodes will be uploaded alternative. Once on my channel and then on Two Dollars Twenty's channel. Be sure you are subscribed to both of our channels in order to catch and see all episodes! You're making this absolute masterpiece, meanwhile I'm struggling just to connect two roads together linking one congested city with terrible sewage problems to an abandoned industrial estate. Damn it.
Wow. This is the most amazing and interesting setting for cities Skylines I have ever seen. (Sure, Arrowhead Junction was good but this... love it) Before this video went up I checked your channels from time to time but now both of you just got another subscriber. I really enjoy this lvl of detail and the whole broken-up theme :)
cheers, keep on I hope you guys are going to build a kinda broken-down desert airport used by military and small civilian aircrafts (cause all the airports people build in c:s are way to clean, new and perfect). I wonder if you could use Advanced Vehicle Options to ban vanilla planes from existing... (and extend landing + take off times of small custom planes)
You will see what crazy and different stuff we are up to :D (insert a little devil emoticon) Don't want to spoil and say too much about will be next, but for sure some interesting things. Maybe something about what you said too :) Who knows? :D Cheers!
Questions on Osahra: 1) what is the official language? 2) what is the geography like? Any mountainous regions? Floral? Are we seeing the whole country, or just the area around a main city? 3) the population 4) what is it's international relations like?
I am getting a computer soon that might be able to actually run cities:skylines, and it would be cool if I could make an unofficial region of the country of Osahra
Hey man! Well I will try to answer to all 3 questions :) The language? Oh..never thought of it, but it should be...Osahrian language :))) I guess At a point the entire map can be seen and there are some rocky hills and we will have oasis and stuff like this. But mostly desert area. Well...don't know what to say about the international relations :D I don't know...they are not that good I guess :)) Cheers!
I think many asset creators made objects and buildings for free for projects of (famous) Cities: Skylines RUclipsrs, as then when the asset is used in this project, a "footprint" of the creators is left in the project.
Take it from an Arabic speaker It's pronounced O-sahra but you have to pronounce the h as Skibitth did + you already know but sahra means desert in Arabic
there are some stuff on steam which don't fit for our theme, but might for you :) and you can find some stuff from Osahra too in time when they will be released
hey fellas, great start! just one thing.... no coconuts in the Middle East. I've been living here in Qatar for almost 12 years and been to loads of Gulf and M.E. countries - it's just not wet enough for coconuts, loads of other palms though. Bring on Ep.2!
Finally! Been waiting! btw a question to everyone; am I only one issuing the problem of not getting any sort of notification when I get a reply from a youtube comment the last week?
I kinda also have it, but since like a lot of time. I rarely get any notification when someone replies to me or even when someone posts a comment for the first time. I have to keep checking the comments section so I can find some of them :(
Nice idea. I love the look. Will definitely follow this series ;) One thing though: Your border crossings are highly unrealistic. A crossing this size needs a rather large area behing or next to the actual crossing, where cars and trucks can stop to be checked more thoroughly. Otherwise every carinspection would automatically lead to conjestion. And you don't want a huge backlog at a crossing.
I feel like the border Needs to be more defined. Many middle eastern countries have massive Berms and Ditches on the exact line of the border to prevent Tanks,APCs extra from Invading. With guys saying that Osahra is a dangerous country it would definitely need a Tank Berm either built by the Neighboring country to keep Osahra out or built by Osahra to keep the Neighbour out. The Berm should also have a Dirt road nearby patrolled by HUMVEEs or Military. Im not sure if you can change the Police car models at the Stations to HUMVEEs and restrict the Police cars to only patrol the border road but it might be an Idea. Im not asking to build a wall like some people in politics but a Berm would be awesome!
My brain just exploded! This is awesome! I'm doing something similar, but you know that since I just sent you a geek-out message :D I love your ideas, now I also need to make a border checkpoint.
Not sure if you are taking questions for episodes but I wanted to know how much research you did to make sure everything was built right? Like did you look up urban planning for this area of the world, etc. And what did you use for source material? Also, how much backstory have you got for Osahra? Like history, etc.
Sure! Glad you asked :) Well research might be too much said. Osahra is a fictional country. Even though there might be some buildings and pyramids used, we won't consider is Egypt. Not at all! For sure we will have some small inspiration from real life countries and places, but from desert areas. For this first episode I did it just from my ideas and how I felt it should look like. So it was no inspiration here. In the next episodes there will be some things inspired from real life. As a source of inspiration....well the google maps and maybe some pictures. Regarding the history...well we are creating the history for it now.No backstory no nothing. Let's see where we will get with this :D Cheers mate!
wow you bring so much new opportunities and style to the game play. Great job with the Middle eastern theme, can't wait to see the next episode. and btw wit that opening and boarders, I think Osahra is about to have a civil war haha. I love it.
Really looking forward to seeing how this project turns out. Looking great so far. Fantastic to see a different sort of theme, rather than the standard western based cities. Also, TDT, as an Aussie myself, I empathise with your inability to sound as cool as Skibitth trying to pronounce Osahra.
Thanks Zaerinelle :D for your feedback on this project Well...maybe I am a little bit luckier with the pronounciation :D But it sounds good in English too :D
Mmm. Osahra is just a fictional country and is nothing related to real life. It's up to you all how you want to see it, but we just want to try to do something different and nice.
the border crossing is great. but most borders IRL has the A country's border control roads merge back to normal roads before separating back for border control in B country's (Pre-EU EU countries mostly only has one counter for clearance unless it's a major highway.) so the way the lanes just goes straight into another country's is just weird. also, most Border Control has customs clearance...
It is quite easy to do so. You have to make an invisible road. For example in this case that you saw I also linked a road between all 3 highway roads beneath the checkpoint shacks. And I am also using this mod: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=583429740 and I make the cars to give way in that intersection but at the same time I ban the cars not to make left or right. So...the cars will make a fast stop. There are other tricks as well, but I just used this one :) Have fun!
Well...is just a small trick. I linked a little road beneath those check point shacks between all 3 roads and cars will stop there for a second to give way. There are other tricks too, but I used this one
Excellent, work and excellent video!!! But unfortunately the truck stop does not look realistic... Too tight road corners and not enough space in the parking lot for them to pull in and out...
Hey man You need these MODs: * steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=593588108 * steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=791221322 * steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=787611845 * steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=694512541 And these lines of course: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=931849902

No no. Not even close. On PS4 you can play the vanilla game. What you see here is a game fully modded with all the crazyest things invented by people for this game. You cannot subscribe to mods and assets on PS4.
Cool. I have to admit that this name Osahra comes from ....nowhere for us. We did not look to see if it means something in any language. But is cool that it really does :D

You're making this absolute masterpiece, meanwhile I'm struggling just to connect two roads together linking one congested city with terrible sewage problems to an abandoned industrial estate.

Thanks mate! You just started the series :D

Oh, and maybe the neighboring country could be called "Ardu Alramal". That's Arabic for land of the sand. Kinda makes sense
Hey man!
Well I will try to answer to all 3 questions :)
The language? Oh..never thought of it, but it should be...Osahrian language :))) I guess

Hmmm. I no longer have the best Cities Skylines border checkpoint on RUclips. Sad day. Great stuff from you guys! Much love! :D
Hehe. Thanks :D

Take it from an Arabic speaker
It's pronounced O-sahra but you have to pronounce the h as Skibitth did
+ you already know but sahra means desert in Arabic
For us (you and me) is easier to pronounce it like that, but for an English speaker is not that easy
wow really enjoy this series already 😁😁
Thanks man! 🙌

after a long wait. finally skib with his amazing skills. Great work guys. Can't wait for next episode... 👌
Thanks man! 🙌
I would love to get a collection of Middle Eastern architecture. I could use it to build cities in Africa and Asia in developing countries.
there are some stuff on steam which don't fit for our theme, but might for you :) and you can find some stuff from Osahra too in time when they will be released
This was so awesome! Brilliant first episode guys and awesome builds skib! :) Looking so much forward for more!! CHeers :D
Thanks B! :D
So yes, I'm super late to the party here, but I am very excited to see this! I'm glad I waited so now I can binge watch 3 episodes in a row!

Dave Brundle i know they are not, but those palm trees with coconuts look pretty cool :D
Just pretend they're date palm trees
Just stumbled upon this video in my feed, I'm very intrigued to see where this goes though
:D Long live the "feeds!"
Cheers bud!

No Problem ;)
Can't wait to see what nice assets we get from this and how this is going to turn out :) Great Job guys.
Oh yeah! :D Lot's of cool stuff from Armesto and Beardmonkey :D
Will some sort of police station be placed at the border? Incase, say, a wanted criminal is picked up or someone is caught smuggling.
James R. Haha. Well there are military humvees. Should be just fine, i guess :))
My brain just exploded! This is awesome! I'm doing something similar, but you know that since I just sent you a geek-out message :D I love your ideas, now I also need to make a border checkpoint.
Cool mate! Good luck with your project and looking forward to see some stuff from there :D
Cheers!🙌
Awesome start guys :D
PugGaming thanks man :D
Nice video! One thing I have most problems with are making nice roads like you do. So big respect for that!
Cheers to that! Thanks mate!

Does anyone else get a Uncharted vibe from the music ?
It's Pyramids of Egypt by Derek Fiechter. Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/KC6EfLdAIVA/видео.html
Really cool! A suggestion maybe, the Middle East road layout includes lots of u-turn spots. Will this be used ?
Connah Morris thanks for the tips!
Great video also new to the channel and looks great so far :)
Thanks! Welcome and hope you'll enjoy it
great work guys
Thanks! :D
Love it! Well done. 👍🏻
It seems to take ages to build all these. Really nice.
Awsome work guys! I have one question: How did u stop the cars at the broder patrol for like a sceond?
I made a tutorial on how to do that. Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/aRpzarNKvGI/видео.html
Skibitth aw thank you! :)
Amazing! :) Can't wait to see more!!! :) Great job!
Thank you Eileen!
I.LOVE.THISSSS. Massive respect fam but I have a question. How do you make the cars stop at the checkpoint?

Skibitth - RUclips Gamer ahhh thanks so much
Wait a second you just have 5k subs you need more attention such as 3mil to 5mil
I subbed instantly
Thanks mate! Most appreciated!
Yes! Cant wait this series is going to be good! Ps any tips for starting a cities skylines series? similar to your own style
I can tell you just to work hard and do quality videos and of course try to come with something different and original
Cheers and good luck!
This is a really interesting project. I'm looking forward for new stuff ^^
Cheers to that!
wait where is Osahra "located" on the map if it were to be put somewhere?
Middle East...
Great video!
Thanks mate!
How did the traffic stop at the checkpoint like that?
Well...is just a small trick. I linked a little road beneath those check point shacks between all 3 roads and cars will stop there for a second to give way. There are other tricks too, but I used this one
I now declare my self as a citizen of Osahra
Sounds good! :D
Amazing work!
Thanks!
Damm nice work man
Thanks mate!
what is the background music of this series?
Excellent, work and excellent video!!! But unfortunately the truck stop does not look realistic... Too tight road corners and not enough space in the parking lot for them to pull in and out...
will you guys be taking requests for road and district names if so I have a few....
Sure mate! Come with some names for villages and towns :) Might be helpful
What's map theme for osahra series please ??
So nice to see a romanian do such a great job. Fain :D
Thanks man! 🙌
Salut!
great video!
Thanks! :) Well right on time as today will be released the second episode on 2 Dollars Twenty channel
What's the mod you used to place down lines like you place down roads?
Hey man
You need these MODs:
* steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=593588108
* steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=791221322
* steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=787611845
* steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=694512541
And these lines of course: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=931849902
This is epic!
He is a little carried away with the damage 9r wear and tear
So, why a CO-OP between two players?
will you guys make a military base
Hey oneman :)
Well...we shall see what will be done :D I don't want to spoil anything :D
why does everyone always ask for a military base in cities skylines
14:17 The semi trailers are backwards 🤔
God I wish I could download all this stuff but my computer is way to slow.
WHY DONT YOU HAVE 136K SUBS?????
get the mexicans in that checkpoint, btw where do u get all those mods they look fun.
What mods do you use?
You can find both collection with MODs and Asssets at the description of this video
very cool
Thanks man! 🙌
How do you create a custom desert map in map editor?
There's no how to's for this
It is simple. You create it the same way as any other map. The important thing is to change the map theme and there is one good desert theme and that's the one we use.
Skibitth is it completely flat? One I'm using the highways are lined weirdly from the map so it makes making city hard to do
And how do u upload the maps with out water? Steam yells at me and doesn't upload it in map directory if there's no water in the map
Have you tried this theme: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=937686778 ?
And depends on you. If you go for a flat one or not... you can make little humps to look like desert dunes, but even on flat terrain you will see this aspect at a small scale.
And have no clue why you cannot create a map without water... I mean why do you say upload? Are you creating it or you try something else?
Skibitth upload as in in game map creation I've seen others have maps with no water but I dont like the layouts
u wonder if there's a ww mod for cities skylines in my opinion might be cool..........nice vid
That would be awesome! :D
Whats the name of the map?
At this point the map is not yet on the workshop. But it will be eventually and it will be called: Osahra
Maybe some little gohsttown (without any connection to it)
It's coming :D
Looks more like the Bahrain Causeway with less idiot drivers and no bridge.
I am in love👍
Portu Gaming we all are
Nice :D
love your work wish i could help
The Flag reminds me on the flag of Sudan 🇸🇩
Georg LP haha. Cool. Just a little coincidence :D
finally. the hype is over
Is the country a glorious dictatorship? :P
Juston Ferreira haha. We shall see how it will be :D
Where are you from?
I am from Romania
Did you do a new episode Yesterday?
If you did copy the video in your comment! Thanks bud
Of Osahra? No
You stopped doing the Osahra series?
Yes. The series ended some time ago.
are you doing any new series?
Can you send me the link of this map?
The map is not yet available on the steam. It was created from scratch. It will be eventually :)
Okay, thanks for your reply
I love !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can u build like this on PS4?
No no. Not even close. On PS4 you can play the vanilla game. What you see here is a game fully modded with all the crazyest things invented by people for this game. You cannot subscribe to mods and assets on PS4.
“NO NAME COUNTRY, NO NAME NEEDED. MOTHER RUSSIA PROUD!”

On the other hand a great build!

Cool. I have to admit that this name Osahra comes from ....nowhere for us. We did not look to see if it means something in any language. But is cool that it really does :D
yeah btw Sahara it's mean desert and I am happy to see you making this map ^_^ ^_^
have a good day
