Hei Alex, thank you for all you wonderful information. 2024 was my first year. I struggle with how long to keep the bouquet before composting. When you harvest on Thursday, make a bouquet on Friday and it is not sold on Saturday, when do compost your bouquet? Again, thanks for al your info😊
Wonderful vid! Learning sooo much! I’ve been gardening for years and really getting into flowers ❤ Already have several established perennials ❤ reseeded others really help ❤
I thoroughly appreciate this video and the time you've taken to answer all the questions. You've provided a lit if value and wisdom here. Opening my flower stand here in NZ, North Island
I am so curious. I watched the video from the beginning (binge watched). Were you growing and selling flowers before you moved here to Oklahoma? You seem so so so knowledgeable and efficient for a 3 year farm.
I live in North Queensland Australia- so no real winter. Do you have any tips of flowers that like the heat. I have so much land and would love to do bouquets to add in our veg and plant stall . I have lots of zinnias in
Great video! I very occasionally have had to mark down to $25, I sell at $35 nz usually. I just put a sticker saying “reduced to clear” and people know that just means the flowers are a little older and have never complained about it. Of course I’d always prefer to sell out at $35 though!😅
I don't do all the extra bits either, and I also don't worry about flowers that "dirty" the water. My neighbours love my flower wagon and offer all their empty plant pots to me. Compost is farming gold. Any left over flowers are tossed around plants to break down slowly and feed the soil. Agree, no mark downs. When I first started selling flowers, I focused on single dinnerplate dahlias. Why? Because it was one cut, one flower verses (6yrs ago) 4 cuts and 4 decorative dahlias. 1/4 the labour, 1/4 the flowers, and 1/4 the space required to grow them, the math only pointed in one direction.

Thank you Alex, your openness about extras is so needed.

I ended up digitizing the care instructions and they are available on my website.
Can I ask where you got your chalkboard stand and what you use to write on it? I love it!
Amazon and chalk pens
Wonderful video!!!!
I didn't see the stapler link 🤷
It’s in description ❤

I forgot to say 1 dinnerplate at $4 verses 4 decoratives for $4.
Do you do anything to get bugs off between harvest of the blooms or before arranging the bouquets?
No
The allergies + growing flowers is killer! 🥲
