  • Originally installed in 1985-1986 by Mitsubishi. These beautiful elevators serves the upper floors of the hotel, with a stunning view of downtown Singapore! They are identical to the internal elevators except these ones have LED ceiling indicators.
Sadly, Hai Tien Lo (which is a public restaurant) has moved from the top floor to the 3rd floor and the top floor has been occupied by the Pacific Club, so access to the top is no longer possible without a keycard.
    Capacity: 23 Persons/1565kg
    Floors served: 1-4, 22, 23-35, 38* (19 floors)
    Year installed / modernized: 1985-1986 / ?
    History: Modernized by 9G Elevators

For these Exterior Elevators H1C-H4C, there was very sound and practical thinking also implemented by the architects in addressing H1C-H4C lift stalling for anywhere between Levels 5-21.
Glass Panels line all 4 lift tracks between 5-21. To be exact, the first glass panel actually starts somewhere just below L5, and we all know L4-L5 is actually quite a irregular distance apart. So for simplicity, you can consider it L4.5.
These allow anyone using the Interior Elevators H5C-H8C to prominently see any lift stalling along the exterior.
For Levels 5-21 of H5C-H8C, their lift landings open directly in sight of the H1C-H4C glass panels. No matter which floor you are on, it is very obvious to identify anything amiss along the outside. Corridor telephones are also situated on each of these floors - overlooking H1C-H4C, for anyone to dial-in for reporting and assistance.
To address Lift Rescue, there are walkways lining the inside of the H1C-H4C lift tracks between 5-21, every 3 floors (L4.5, L7, L10, L13, L16, L19). On these floors, the glass panels are actually hinged windows that open inward towards the Hotel. This facilitates lift evacuation onto the walkways.
These walkways connect to Staircase 4C on the H1C end of the Exterior Lifts. Staircase 4C is the emergency staircase that spans the entire guest floors (5-35).
But because the orientation of Staircase 4C is such that the stairs are on the "mezzanine" floors towards the exterior lifts side, the door opens with a half floor drop towards the emergency walkway which is on a proper storey. Thus, a ladder is provided from the walkway to the door - height of "half" a floor.

Modded in 2006 by 9G then refurbished in 2015. Service lifts all killed presumably around the time they refurbished these

@@lowlyeying4771 During the 2012 Pan Pacific Transformation, the Hotel Management renumbered Level 37 to Level 38, rounding it to a more auspicious sounding number.
The restaurant Hai Tien Lo, then moved down to Level 3, and in its replacement is the Pacific Club - $160++/night/pax (caa March 2021) for Room Packages that exclude this perk.
