Can confirm, nothing has changed since the Town Square launched. Except now you can get up from the movie theater seats after sitting as opposed to being stuck in old movie purgatory until the end of time. It's the little improvements that count, right? /s
This game was announced at the peak of the Arma 3 RP craze back in 2014 and 2015, when big names like Lirik we're playing it. It got the attention of a bunch of big name streamers who talked about it on stream, and people who had even talked to the developers I believe. I had back the game back then as I was really big into Arma 3 RP because this was supposed to essentially be an RP server/game built for RP from the ground up. For years a day teased a bunch of stuff, and announced the module system to allow players to essentially alpha test the game. Not only did it take three years to get one town square module working, they lied about how soon it would be launched to get people to buy the game, and then indefinitely delayed it after it missed its initial launch window and had gone silent about the matter. Then after almost the year of no updates they started posting random 3D models of things like chairs and weapons that they were working on. Around that time is when I had started speaking out a lot about how I believe the game is a scam and it will never release on their Facebook where they were paying to promote ads even though there were no development updates for the forgotten about module system. Those comments were then met with criticism by either really stupid people, or seemingly fake Facebook profile bots that were meant to hype up the game because every negative comment was met with very generic replies by random accounts about how it wasn't a scam, and how people don't understand how long development takes. This game has an incredibly sketchy history of lying, and promising things that never even existed. It's so good to see someone finally calling this game out, because every big streamer who promoted the hell out of it has been dead silent about it since.
The mobile game ads kill my soul, i wish youtube would actually pay the people who bring traffic to their platform so we could stop having to see these kinds of ads. It's crazy that the thing youtube was made so popular off of (you know being unlike cable tv) is now exactly what it is becoming.
I remember being so stoked about this game, when word started coming out about it in 2015-2016. I never actually backed it(Luckily), cause I was too poor back then, so I am happy I never wasted any money on the game. I've heard so much shit about it, when it was released and that it definitely wasn't what they had promised.
Director of project identity Paratus: - 09/04/2021 I imagine Olio/Hairy have probably filled you in for the most part on where we are and where we're going, but the gist of it is that we're moving forward nicely although slower than we'd like due to funding. At this point, Identity is bringing in enough to cover expenses of the servers and all, but not really enough to fund development. Thus, people working on it are doing it out of love/passion and not a full-time commitment. Lately we've been focusing more on the world and environment, building it out further to open the full world to players and get everyone out of the Town Square. The plan for an upcoming release would be to include that open world with weapons and vehicles to get around, and then from there we can build out more gameplay logic like police/law, etc. Fortunately we already completed the most difficult and expensive part, which is the large world network code. We've stress tested it to a few hundred and I bet we could push it more to like 1,000 per server if we wanted to. That'd be too population dense, though, I think.
So I have had the game since 2018 and did bug testing and reporting to their websites with screenshots etc., and I would revisit the game at least once a year and nothing had ever changed and bugs weren't ever fixed, sadly wasted 100 bucks backing the game. 1st Game i backed and that taught be a lesson id never forget. Btw Peon love your content keep it up mate. Chur

Like rockstar couldn’t make the game they were promising with hundreds of programmers and multiple studios assisting, but like 8 guys who made mods previously are like yeah we’re gonna make a game where you can do literally anything and nothing bad will bad will happen.

At 3:15 you can see a mannequin dabbing.
This piece of crap and Cyberpunk taught me not to trust any game developing studio regardless of their reputations good or bad.
The mobile game ads kill my soul, i wish youtube would actually pay the people who bring traffic to their platform so we could stop having to see these kinds of ads. It's crazy that the thing youtube was made so popular off of (you know being unlike cable tv) is now exactly what it is becoming.
It took them 6 years to build something less functional than Second Life as of 2006.
I remember being so stoked about this game, when word started coming out about it in 2015-2016. I never actually backed it(Luckily), cause I was too poor back then, so I am happy I never wasted any money on the game. I've heard so much shit about it, when it was released and that it definitely wasn't what they had promised.
“The DMV’s closed..” well they nailed that part, at least.

I imagine Olio/Hairy have probably filled you in for the most part on where we are and where we're going, but the gist of it is that we're moving forward nicely although slower than we'd like due to funding.
That'd be too population dense, though, I think.
you can still buy "dlc" for this game in the developers website, goes up to 500$, includes things that will never be added to the game
Loving the increase in content. Your "life is an MMO" videos are super interesting and I'm looking forward to more of them.
Chur
Literally one of the only games that I ever backed for early access, and was extremely excited when they dropped the Town Square module, never been more disappointed with the outcome of a game like this before. They basically just took our money and ran.
What happened to the creators?
@@paulkendrick4153 No one knows, after the town square module we basically heard the new police based module would come soon and then nothing since and that was about 4-5 years ago
Enjoying the frequent uploads, keep it up NotSoLazyPeon.
Being a able to watch real world movies in mmo would make mmo live up to their name. Hell make movies and series release in mmo too someday, tickets needs to be bought with real money or special in game currency that can be converted into currency bought by real money.
tower unite has a theater. I play it all the time and its so fun
Any game that tries to replicate "REAL LIFE" is always going to be a complete pile of dogshit. Just look at Second Life
Dog shit that is making millions. 😂🤣
Terrible comparison, Second Life has an active playerbase and delivered what they promised long time ago.
Bad comparison, Second life is amazing and super diverse when it comes to content
expectation: everything can be done in this game!
reality: well i can steal! and thats all.
I remember hearing about this and being hyped ages ago! Really good video man, it feels like Chronicles of elyria all over again
@7:35 the DMVs are closed...
well that's some solid realism. Good job devs
Injects self with copious amount of morphine.
Goes to the Police Station to get a job.
6 years?! Then you have Valheim with 2 years!
Money laundering. IRS: Sir where did you get $150,000 a year? Mafia: "I'm a game developer working on the most immeserive MMO ever" Spirit of Reality: "*cough*Bullshit*cough*"
"coffee shop here, but it's closed" must be Covid... hehe.
as someone who hate mobile game , dragon city is very very old mobile game that is really legit and is good and not scam , its similar to pokemon were you hatch egg and makes them fight each other and marry each other for new type of creation which was really really cool but me and my friend used to play it on facebook way back in the days
Thank you for clarifying it is like Pokémon...very hard to tell it is a Pokémon ripoff.../s
That Garage is a picture from a different game called Garage mechanic simulator I've played it on my phone. LOL Thanks Peon
"You can do anything"
can't even choose the name he wants
Holy! Its in 2015?! I almost forgot about that game and wow time flies really fast!
Hahahahaha the Frank painting got me
"you might not like it but this is what peak performance or modern AAA games looks like nowadays."

This Town Hall Module was there literally 4 years ago when it came out, and nothing has changed in it lol
i'm literally here for the sponsor footage that is 100% of what's in the thumbnail lol
yes, EAT the cannabis seed! LOL
You know, this literally came to my mind the other day & I was wondering what happened to it.
I would have never thought there was a shittier version of Second life... i stand corrected
Second life is worse then this game. Only bad thing about this game is no one really plays it.
I always wonder where the confidence comes from with these creators. Like rockstar couldn’t make the game they were promising with hundreds of programmers and multiple studios assisting, but like 8 guys who made mods previously are like yeah we’re gonna make a game where you can do literally anything and nothing bad will bad will happen.
They made about 1.4m $ why should they continue?
They have what they wanted
Not sure if you realize it but Identity was headed up by the developers behind the old Asylum Life RP servers in ArmA 3. It's no wonder the game crashed and burned.
Been watching you for years bro...never thought I’d hear you sing. 👏🏼 👏🏼
This is why me and my limited funds never support any game on kickstarter.
kinda sad that no bigger company takes this idea and makes an actual online mmorpg out of that. i would love to play an "identity" like game published by Pearly Abyss for example
I remember my friend showed this game to me back in like... 2017 or earlier (idk when it came out) but I was always excited to see how it can go because the promises they made were so exciting. I never wanted it to fail :\
I wanna see him try Star Citizen and know his thoughts on that project after 8 years of development
Any game that promises anything close to this is probably at least 5 years away, maybe more.
It would be a technological marvel
You know, I believe it would be pretty cool if you could make a video about mobile game advertisements...the real ones AND the fake ones.
wow that Dragon City ad brought back so many memories of playing with my friends on Facebook
What hell Peon, literally yesterday that trailer popped into my head and I thought "oh yeah I wonder what happened with that game".
A day later you answer my question in a video.
You ever covered The Black Death Peon? That's been in development for some time don't know if it will ever get finished
