What I think is that Sam didn't realize what he was doing and took it as a game. He grew up in a rich family, he never had responsibility. He became rich very quickly and thought that nothing could happen. He never realized the value of money and that it can cause harm. .He acts like a small child who has no responsibility and takes everything as a game. And then he realized that he would end up in prison forever and what he had caused
I think he is a clever manipulator that doesn’t even contemplate what harm his actions can have on other people, becoming a paper billionaire must contribute to that.
