Just yesterday, I got to use a John Deere 8310 R Rowcrop tractor with rear duels and front doors pulling a 14 foot seven shank Case IH 870 ecolo-tiger disc ripper in corn stalks for the first time after watching Farmer’s do it on RUclips for years! I had a lot of fun! It was way more interesting than doing it on soybean ground, which I did earlier this fall
We have been running an 870 ripper for years. Great implement. We pull a 9 shank with a 485. It dos an excellent job. We have triples so we usually skip passes so we don't have to turn so short.
Absolute comfort, just love the way the sound proof cab comes into it's own, I still prefer ploughing (plowing) under the stubble and the fresh soil comes to the surface, but ploughing can be expensive, so disc/ripper is cheaper and quicker to do. Farming operations have changed and I'm an old dinosaur stuck in the mud. Great video many thanks God Bless stay safe regards Kevin Fox,England,London.
at first glance I thought the implement was to small for the tractor. that changed after you stated the tractor hp and the running depth. thanks for the informative enjoyable video. ☕🍰
@Jason: Over time, you have done a good job explaining the consolidation of tractor manufactures. This presentation features. Case IH Steiger. Why does the tractor carry the 3 names? Is it solely for market recognition?
Great video and the Ecolo did a fine job, that is one implement that you can really see a big difference where he passed, many other tools one can hardly see a difference although it did do it's thing
Does anyone know what the differences are between the 870 and the 875? The only thing that I noticed being different was the stickers for the model number and hydraulic cylinders instead of springs. Was anything else changed?
Hey bigtractorpower there's this video on RUclips called international 56&66 series 1970 to 1976 the first tractor in that video could you plz help me figure out what series it is
Those take a lot of power and weight. Like Greg said, hit hard enough ground and you could probably stop it dead. Just the other day I was cruising through town and happened to catch the local BTO pulling a 9 shank Krause dominator with an 8425 Agcostar (425 horsepower) and at one point they almost stalled it
The slow motion action was great. Shows how well this implement works.
My cousin runs a 2020 370 Case IH Steiger tractor, handles and operates very nicely. Case IH put a lot of time into the design of such a machine.
😁👍👍
I’m 70 and I love your videos with the large tractors. Just wish I could get behind the wheel of one.
The exhaust on that thing is absolutely ginormous
So used to seeing big artics nowadays invariably on tracks, it makes a refreshing change to see one on wheels for a change. Great looking machine.
Love the slow motion it show the work it is doing.
👍👍
Bro this man is on a steady upload give him a round of applause
Thank you. I post a new video every day. 😁👍
bigtractorpower I’m waiting for some of what you’ve teased on Instagram like a 7 year old on Christmas Eve
Love the slow mo at the 8 minute point...need to put that into more of your videos! Great video Jason!
Enjoyed watching the slow motion footage! I’d like to see more of that. Awesome video! 😎
😁👍👍

Nice tractor and plow setup results look great!
The slo-mo shot was awesome BTP 🚜👍

I Loooooooooooooove those red tractors!!!!!😀 I think they are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!🏆What is your favorite tractor company?🤔
The STEIGER brand is my favorite. I like all the brands. If it’s a tractor and moving I want to film it.
They are nice tractors.😊
That slo-mo shot was cool!
That's a nice set up there
Great tillage combo!
Great to see a steiger😉👍 the ecolo tiger does a great job👍😁

Drove that tractor today
That’s the same kind of chisel we use on our farm nicely done
😁👍👍
Nice equipment. Gettin' some work done!
Appreciate the video Jason. Excellent work. That Ecolo Tiger does a nice job. The John Deere 2730 does excellent also. GO BTP!!💪
I would like to film a Deere 2730 and a 2660 VT. I have not come across this yet. I did film a John Deere 512 this week.
@@bigtractorpower Looking forward to it.
@Jason: Over time, you have done a good job explaining the consolidation of tractor manufactures. This presentation features. Case IH Steiger. Why does the tractor carry the 3 names? Is it solely for market recognition?
The farm I help with uses a John Deere 8320 RT crawler tractor to pull the 14 ft 7 shank Case IH ecolotiger
Thats a real nice tractor
👍👍
Great video and the Ecolo did a fine job, that is one implement that you can really see a big difference where he passed, many other tools one can hardly see a difference although it did do it's thing
The 870 and the current 875 do an impressive job. Most of the farm’s I see in IL and IA regardless of their tractor brand have these disk rippers.
Great Vlog, amazing tractor and ripper
Thank you Tony.
Nice fantabulous awesome video again sir🤩🥰😍
Apsolutly fantastic slo. mou. 7:43.
Your #1 BTP....
Looks like a nice package. Does a good job. Quietg in cab
That ecolotiger is real quiet for something that aggressive
Nice.
Nice👍
I appreciate your enthusiasm to watch my videos
Great video liked the 4wd tractor. Have you ever been to Tennessee?
Yes. I film in Tennessee sometimes. I live 70 miles from Nashville.
We run the same ripper but with a challenger mt765c and pulls it well
Very nice.
Does anyone know what the differences are between the 870 and the 875? The only thing that I noticed being different was the stickers for the model number and hydraulic cylinders instead of springs. Was anything else changed?
Did case buy DMI
Yes Case squired DMI on 9/28/98.
We run a john deere 8200 and 5 shank 510 john deere ripper
How deep down er you a plowin' there little feller? I'm a guessin' 2 inches.
The 870 runs at 12 inches.
Great video pity some operators are a little shy to talk
Saludo del Ecuado soy afisihonano ha las macinarias pesadas
👍👍👍👍

I would say judging by the size of it may well be a 666 or 756 .
Hello
I would burn the corn residue, then work the field..
The stalks add nutrients back into the soil and protect against erosion .
Is the name of this farm raiders farm because if it is I know them as friends
Is it me, or were the tires awful skinny on this unit?
👏👏👏🙏🙏🚜🚜
nice to see some "wheeled" tractors in this configuration, not a big fan of trax.
Tracks do a great job in tillage. I was excited to get to feature a 370 as it is the entry level Steiger and not offered on tracks.
Is it just me or they should have a little bit bigger ripper ?
That ripper what stop that tractor in it’s tracks if they actually put it in the ground like it should be.
Those take a lot of power and weight. Like Greg said, hit hard enough ground and you could probably stop it dead. :)
Not impressed with excessive large muffler...........better exhaust design in order here.....would not invest in this tractor.
The exhaust does not impact viability from inside at all. It is angled on the corner post and from the operators seat you can hardly see it.
