It's understandable people having trouble getting to the barge - excitement, inexperience, over confidence etc. But to have so much trouble getting from the barge. And it's what 300 metres from the drop off to the gravel. How do people get around Fraser Island when they need to dig wheel trenches, after everything else failled, to get off Inskip Point?
One track in and one track out. No section of sand on Fraser sees as much traffic. It's pretty chewed up during peak periods and also after not having any rain for some time. The southern half of Fraser is normally not too bad compared to this and it's where most people spend their whole Holiday. One Question Why is it so popular in aussie to remove the standard truck bed and replace it with a flat bed? i understand if you go for the aluminuim canopy but there are so many with flat beds. do you all haul wide and long stuff all day long?
Because it's much more useful. I had a tub with canopy and anything that's near the front can be difficult to reach. I swapped it over to a flat tray and it's the best thing I ever did. The wide gull wing doors on the canopies make access ridiculously easy in comparison. I now have 2 "jack off" canopies, one for work and one for camping. The jack off canopies have a leg on each corner which you simply wind up or down making it easy to change by simply driving out with the legs raised, or just use the flat bed for really big things. Great set ups.
