What have you been growing and picking from your garden this week? I would love to know so leave a comment below! :)
You can also try putting them in a brown bag in the cool place. And some people put either an onion or apple in there to help it ripen. Google that
It's nice to watch your garden. we are still in winter season here and looking forward for the spring. Watching from Canada
Thanks so much for watching! Usually the garden is done for us too this time of year due to it being too hot but I’ve managed to continue growing which has been awesome! ☺️
That is awesome, it is cold Winter day here in the eastern USA
I cannot wait for Winter! 😂 Although our Winter is not very cold at all. It’s just nice to have a break from the heat! 🥵🔥☀️ Emjoy your cold winter day! I’m jealous! 😂
@@risslittleveggiepatch I rather have Winter but fresh veggies make me tolerate the Summer
Great video. Thanks Larissa.
Thanks Lynda! 🙂🍅🥬🥕🐝
Hi..Larissa!..
Your vegetable garden is very nice. I like how you plant tomatoes. I am very impressed to see the tomato crop. Very nice video.
Hello! Thankyou so much! I’m very happy with the tomatoes this year. It’s my first year of successful tomatoes! ☺️🍅🍅🍅🍅
I have to admit, I'm looking forward to cooler weather too! Very inspiring video Larissa!
Thanks Jane! Bring on the cooler weather! :)
Great video Larissa. You've got so much still growing through all this heat!
Thanks so much Robert! Yeah I’m surprised too!

Thankyou so much! Oh that’s a shame you have nothing to pick but planting season is always exciting!!
I’m looking forward to moving into our Autumn planting season! ☺️🥬🥕🍅🐝
Its been really hot down our way, with a little but not a lot of rain, but the beans and peppers went off as well as the last of the last beets and onions.... having the chooks in the garden has bee fantastic to sort out any pests and clean up a feew fly blown peppers...
It's been a better summer than last year harvest wise! Having chooks would be great to control the pests! Do you then get into the garden and eat your produce though?
@@risslittleveggiepatch They would but i put fences around each bed to keep them out... once the peppers, chard and cucurbits vines were mature i let them in... theres still some crop loss but its minimal and helps the girls stay healthy...
Looking forward to trying the white mulberry! 😊
Me too! ☺️
Awesome video Larissa! Love seeing what’s happening your garden and fantastic harvest!
Thanks so much Steve! Im glad you enjoyed seeing what's been happening! :)
Those tomatoes looked amazing! Love your garden tours Larissa!
Thanks Hannah! The tomatoes have been great! Mind you I have only eaten 1 so far as I keep giving them to family and have frozen a bunch to make pasta sauce!
Really enjoyed the garden tour Larissa! So much going on! Love the harvest!
Thanks Leah, so glad you enjoyed it! Surprisingly there is a lot going on still through the hot months!
nice harvest.
Thanks! 🙂
Great video Larissa! Always inspiring and plenty of great tips!
Thanks heaps Clare! :)
Hi Larissa, great harvest. Well done. Those beetroot look really good. I had a good crop in the spring but not much since. I made a beetroot relish that we've been having with summer salads. Goes great with burgers. Cheers
Hi Keith! Thankyou! I made a beetroot relish with last years beetroot but it wasn’t the best recipe so I need to try a different one! Although I don’t plant as many beetroot this year so I’ll probably just end up eating! I am going to make a tomato relish though as I love that! ☺️🍅🍅🍅
@@risslittleveggiepatch Oh yeah. Imade one earlier as I had so many tomatoes. Turned out great. Good luck.
Amazing that is good video, I liked and subscribed ❤😂😂😂
Thanks so much for watching, liking and subscribing! ☺️🍅🥬🥕🐝
Hello Riss, Happy Sunday (evening for you as I watch this, 6 am for me lol) I am always happy to see you and your garden. Have you ever eaten fried green tomatoes? It is a southern thing here and very good. Those tomatoes look like baby eggplants lol. yum. You are always teaching me things, mom's blackberries when they get about 2 ft tall and up the berries come non stop so hopefully you will get a ton of blueberries next year. I love the blast with hose technique. I love turmeric and I need to plant some, same with ginger. That is a good looking Mulberry.
Thank you for the tour, I always enjoy it. Have a Blessed week my friend.🍅🫐🌶🫑🧅
Hi Jimmy! Happy Monday morning!! I haven’t eaten fried green tomatoes but I do vaguely remember a movie called or about that?!? Yes fingers crossed for some blackberries next Spring! 🤞🏻🤞🏻
I hope you have a lovely week my friend! ☺️🐝🥕🥬🍅
@@risslittleveggiepatch Thank you Riss, and yes they did make a movie called that, lol I had forgotten.
I love seeing what's going on in your garden Larissa! Great harvest considering it's been so hot!
Thanks so much Julia! ☺️
Mealybugs are crazy this year in Brisbane.... The solution I found was to use homemade white oil (Sunflower Oil + Dishwashing Liquid) + I also added a sticky tape around the trunk of my trees to stop the ants from climbing, they were the ones spreading the mealybugs around.... Once I got rid of the ants, the number of mealybugs dropped a lot.
I’m too lazy to make up solutions 😂 That’s why I just blast them with the hose while I’m watering! I will definitely try the sticky tape though! I’ve only heard of that with aphids! I didn’t know it worked for mealy bugs! Thanks for the tip! 🙂🍅🥕🥬🐝
@risslittleveggiepatch it definitely helps to reduce the numbers as I heard the ants kind of protect them from natural predators because they love the honeydew, and in exchange they keep them safe to destroy our plants 😂😂😂😂
Oh wow, ive got three mulberry trees and theyve gotten massive, but they are the very sweet variety. Taste like fairy floss, i don’t eat them cause i like the mulberries which are a bit tart. So all the mulberries are for the birds now 😂
Do you have the white mulberry variety or the purple ones? Lucky birds! 😂
@ i have two purple and one white one, the white one is the biggest though like 8m tall now. They all fruit well, all the parrots have a feast, trimming it takes a lot of effort though, they grow fast.
Are you able to show us your soil mix for grow bags or containers please? 🙏🏻
Yes I sure can! In an upcoming video I will show it! But basically it’s compost with chicken manure and worm castings 🙂🥕🥬🍅🐝
Ha, we also know it as pawpaw in South Africa, supermarkets use papaya though. I have a 2 month old growing in the only spot in my yard that is not concrete or tar (sadly), and that spot is 0.35m2 around the water meter. Nothing germinated in the container I tried but only this one plant next to it, and I know I have to remove it, I've not had the heart to do so so far.
Oh good to know you guys say pawpaw too! I always forget to say Paoaya so that people know what I’m talking about! 😂 oh that’s such a shame you have to remove it! I pulled mine out of the garden as it just popped up out of nowhere and I put it in a pot. It struggled at first but now it’s come good. Maybe try to put it in a pot?
Your lawn looks green and lush. Do you water it a lot or does it just do well in your climate?
We get so much rain over Summer it stays nice a green. During Winter it looks a bit dry as we don’t get much rain then! ☺️
I tried corn for the first time last year. It was doing awesome. Then Sept came and it was way to cool of a Sept so it stopped growing. Things happen.
You can’t predict the weather can you! Maybe this year you will to taste your own home grown corn! 🤞🏻🙂
Your losing out not being able to have them ripen on the vine.
They still taste pretty damn good to me! I would lose pot on having any tomatoes at all if I left them on the vine! Haha!
