Really helpful review. We are on the Anthem in September and we are interested to see the changes as we haven’t cruised Royal Caribbean since 2012. We cruised on Celebrity last year after a 10 year break and noticed a lot of changes and cut-backs.
Agree that the cruise companies are really starting to charge more while also cutting back services.
Starting to look for a cruise company which isn’t exploiting its loyal customers.
Thank you, you will notice some cutbacks but royal is still very good and hope you have a great cruise. One cruise line I don’t think is out changing people is msc maybe the service is not as good but especially from Southampton it’s good priced.
In the past regular cruisers had a reasonable idea of how they would rank cruise lines based on their own preferences. Post Covid it’s a race to the bottom with cruise lines cutting services; reducing staff; charging for what used to be included in the fare and increasing prices of excursions, drinks etc. The result is the old order of what was better or worse for each cruise line is history.
My wife and I have recently been on a round British Isles cruise on Ambassadors Ambiance and it was absolutely fantastic. Lots of quality meals and onboard activities. We would have presumed P&O would have been superior but that is definitely not the case. We would have ranked our Princess cruises above MSC and P&0 but that no longer is the case.
As it’s still a race and it’s hard to forecast how the ranking will end. Which cruise line is going to be the Ryanair; who will be BA and who will be Emirates?

It’s be interesting to see with royal how bad the situation gets with prices rising not just on ships but the prices of the cruises, before it’s to much and ships are less full and they drop them again,

thank you for watching, i get what your saying. its 8 years old and they have them every 5 years. the first one is more routine and the 10 years they change a bit more so we will see what they do
