15:39 Creamy Tomato Bacon Soup
Brown Rice recipe:
1 can French Onion soup
1 can Beef Consomme
1 cup white rice
Preheat oven to 350 F. Combine all ingredients in 2 qt baking dish. Cover and bake for 50-60 minutes.
Subbie Supper Submitted by Kayla
Creamy Bacon Tomato Soup - we halfed this recipe, below is the original
3 stalks celery, chopped
1 carrot, chopped
1⁄2 onion, chopped
6 slices bacon
2⁄3 cup flour
8 TB butter
8 cups chicken broth
2 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes (undrained)
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp thyme
8 garlic cloves, finely diced
2 bay leaves
2 cups heavy cream
Cut bacon into bite size pieces and saute in large soup pot. Once brown, remove half of the bacon and leave grease in pot. Saute celery, carrot, and onion in bacon grease until browned a bit. Add flour and butter to form a roux and cook about 6 minutes. Add chicken broth, tomatoes, salt, pepper, thyme, garlic, and bay leaves. Cook on medium high for 30 minutes. Remove bay leaves. Blend with
immersion blender. Stir in heavy cream. Serve in bowls and sprinkle with remaining cooked bacon pieces. We like to serve this soup with grilled cheese sandwiches.

If only ALL hubbies could be as in love with our meals as Steven is with yours!!! Steven needs a channel to teach other hubbies to be as loving and encouraging!!
Right on!!!
I love how your Gracie is always there ready to test the food, such a precious baby.
Can't wait to try the Lemon Garlic Chicken!
Mandy...we absolutely love your “What’s for Dinner” videos. We tried two from this video...the tomato soup and the Lemon Garlic Chicken. Both were delicious. Your recipes are time-savers. Thank you and don’t stop making these videos.
Hey Miss Mandy! Love your channel! You have such a kind and genuine personality and that shines through on all your posts. Thanks for sharing so many great recipes. Have a great weekend!
I have been home sick these past few weeks - and I LOVE cooking. When I'm not cooking, I'm meal prepping!! And I love your videos as inspiration!! So while I've been essentially bed-ridden I have been watching through all my saved videos. Naturally AS I saved the recipes I hadn't made them yet. Therefore i didn't have any feedback comments to leave. But now that I have lots of time on my hand and I'm reviewing these meal videos again I'm remembering the dishes that I've made and I'm finally getting to leave my comments and feedback! I just want to say yet again as always thank you so much for taking the time as you do to prepare and post these videos. I love getting the look into your beautiful family and I love the format of your videos. You'll go at just the right pace and you explain without oversimplifying or not simplifying enough. 🙏🏼❤️😀
Ok, I need A video with Steven showing me how to grill steaks 😂 I’m not even kidding! Please! My husband doesn’t grill and I really want to learn how to do it right.
Made steak recipe with Delmonico steaks. Used stick blender. Marinated 6 hours. Seared on each side in a very hot pan. Placed steaks and marinade in parchment bag placed on cookie sheet. Baked 350 30 minutes. Served with corn and rice. Super, super easy and delicious!! Thanks Mandy!!
When I was younger we used to make that rice and it was called dirty rice.
Definitely going to make that dinner over the weekend
I love you videos I love the way Steven just jumps right in there and helps you out and I love seeing Cole's do thumbs up
Not only the best recipes ever....but the "BESTEST" family sharing them! 💕💕💕💕Love you guys so much!💕💕💕💕 That subby tomato soup is definitely on this weeks menu! Hahahaha...who am I kidding, I want them ALL on this weeks menu!
I make that brown rice also because my mom and dad made it but I use two cans of the consommé, a small jar of mushrooms and a diced onion. I love how everyone makes it differently and it’s all good
I just LOVE the bloopers at the end & your family. Not to mention the great recipes that come before.
I love a caprese grilled cheese with tomato soup: spread pesto on both slices of bread, add sliced tomatoes, top with mozzarella cheese and grill. It would be perfect with that soup!
Yum! That sounds so good! Making your grilled caprese with this tomato soup tonight 👍
your channel is the most enjoyable to watch of all the cooking channels i follow - and the best recipes!
I think it was great Steven was in front of the camera this time and your son peeking around the corner LOVE it!!!!!
Coming up next on Dancing with the Stars Mandy in the Making's son Cole!!! Lol. Love watching y'all. I needed that laugh.
2 tips for instant pot users. You can get steam diverters from Amazon. They make the steam got off to the side instead of straight up. Helpful if your cooking around cabinets. Get a large bullnose clip to lock the pot to the base when you're stirring a dish or even serving.
I so enjoy watching your videos. The love in your family is tangible!
I look forward to your videos every Friday. You are such a wonderful family, love the way your hubby gets involved with all your yummy meals.
All of the recipes look really good - thanks for sharing
Yummy Recipes! That rice looks so easy and yummy! But there is nothing more satisfying than de-glazing the pan and ALL the fond melts in the dish. I love flavorful dishes!
“That’s a flavor factory right there!” 🤣😂 He his hilarious! Definitely want to try everything in this video, great one! 👍🏼
I have become addicted to your Videos, I am so happy to have found your channel. Your family is AWESOME to watch and I LOVE your presentation, your my favorite youtube cook. AND Gracie is the cherry on top. Your videos are PERFECT.
Mandy..love your sweet family. They and you make me happy every day. Made your cracker barrel potato casserole lat night
AWESOME!!
Hi Mandy. I’m just binge watching your videos this morning. I’ve had such a cooking brain cramp lately trying to come up with new recipes. i’m definitely going to make the brown rice. I’ve seen you make this before and I forgot how you did it so I’m so glad you showed us again here. Sounds so yummy. Everything you make always sounds yummy!
Ohmygosh, you guys are so fun to watch! What a great family and lots of awesome recipes to try! Thank you!!
I’ve been waiting all week on a new video, lol so has my hubby!
Aw, thanks girl! I hope y'all enjoy!
I never would have thought to put a beef flavored rice with lemon chicken. Definitely gonna try this one! Thanks.
OMGOSH!!! I'm 73 and follow YOU. I just fixed your stuffed shells recipe and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!! TFS
I made the rice for my non-rice loving husband. He says it is the best rice I have ever made. Wow. We’ve been married 41 years so that is saying a lot. Thanks for sharing!
Everything looked so delicious! Especially that brown rice! I need to start using my instant pot. I’m a bit intimidated by it. 😂
I haven't used mine either! It's high up in the highest cabinet.
How do you not have more subscribers!! I love love love all of you. You and Steve are relationship goals ❤️
Mandy, our recipe of your grandmothers brown rice adds a half stick of melted butter (yes I know), a small onion chopped , two small cans of mushrooms or I sometimes chop fresh mushrooms and add those instead, and a Tablespoon of the W sauce. That’s in addition to the rice and soups you added. Just in case you might want to experiment. 😍😍😍
Mandy I want to come eat at your house! I keep saying you have the best recipes and you just continue to feed us these great dishes
Mandy, God bless you and your family as you head out to help Heather.
I enjoy watching you so much so many times I’ve been so sad and depressed and I put you on I don’t know what it is about you but you make me feel better. Never change you’re perfect
Love the soup + sandwich!! When I made the soup, I opted to pot the diced tomato juices in the soup and hold the tomatoes to add back after blending it smooth. I like texture, and color. So I wanted the tomatoes not blended. Also topped with a small dollop of soup cream and minced fresh parsley and scallion, very little. Loved the recipes!!
Soy sauce is SO good for a steak marinade! I have a variation where it’s just soy sauce, about a tablespoon of olive oil, black pepper, a couple of garlic cloves, and a few tsp of grainy brown mustard. It is SO good, and I repurpose the marinade by boiling it for a good 10 minutes or so while the steaks cook and the marinade gets a little thick and turns into a delicious sauce! Haven’t made it in a while but this reminded me of it!
That tomato bacon soup looks DELICIOUS! Adding that to my meal plan for the week!
Your husband should be hired to critic recipes that are filmed. His comments and reactions are the best!!
We love those salad kits! I have not been disappointed yet!
That chicken and brown rice recipe looked soooo good!
Yes I'm definitely making that!!
I love Friday’s when I see your WFD video is posted because I know it’s going to be goooood! I’ve been making at least one of your recipes every week for like a month now, and we have not been disappointed. As always, everything looked amazing! Well, except for maybe that marinade.... lol. My husband’s favorite soup is tomato, so I will definitely be making this! Loved the bloopers at the end, had me smiling :)
Tomato Soup for the win this weekend. Looks yummoly. Thanks
Also love ❤️ how much fun you all have 😃
I made the lemon chicken with the "brown rice" and steamed broccoli and OMG!!!! So delicious! My family loved it! Thank you!
I looooove your channel so much!! Your recipes are amazing! I love that you get your familys opinion of the meals. You have such a sweet family. Can't wait to see what's next...💕
Lovin the look of the rice! I'm newer so I have never seen it on here before. I also love Steven's reactions to things. When he really loves it you can just see it written across his face, and the way he describes things is amazing. It really makes you feel like you are there testing the food with you. I also love how easy a majority of these recipes are! Oh, and for the pressure cooker, seals are pretty easy to replace, and sometimes they warp, or crack easily.
Great recipes again Mandy, thank you xxx
Best channel ever, love how you two have so much fun together, and I have made alot of your recipes just great all the way around.
Awesome! Thank you!
I was intimidated by my instant pot too then I started watching the six sisters stuff channel and they totally changed how I cook. Especially the instant pot basic 101 and 10 things not to do with your instant pot. Another good one is 365 days of slow cooker and instant pot.
MANDY YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND ARE SHARING THE BEST LOOKING MEALS ! I WANT TO TRY SOME OF THE MEALS .
I love how you plate up your food...very professional.
Made tomato soup. Easy and Delicious!!!! Thanks Mandy!!
I can not wait to try these! Fantastic!!!👍💜
I admire you so much! Your faith, strength, your love for your family and love for food! 💖
You're a beautiful woman, with a beautiful soul and a beautiful family. I can't wait to try these recipes 😍
I don't look at a lot of cooking video but I really like yours cause your husband and son is so appreciative of you my hubby is just like that willing to try a recipe one time and don't complain about it Love your channel
Just love you guys such a great family and gracey so sweet. Thank you mandy
Hi Mandy. All three dishes must taste heavenly but those steaks!! Wow Wee.......awesome!
I would love anyone of the three. For lunch, nothing like a grilled cheese and tomato soup and then add bacon.
Thanks for sharing. Great job with immersion blender👍👍👍
Have a fantastic and blessed day. See you soon.
Congratulations! That 100k is surely around the corner. I’m rooting for you!
Oh yum ... I am definitely going to try that soup, we love soup and sandwich nights . Thanks for sharing this one with us.
That chicken looks amazing! And I already know I like your Mama’s brown rice. Can’t wait to try it!
Love, love, love your channel, thanks for sharing your life! I love your kitty so much and I am not a cat person...LOL. Yummy recipes this week and that rice looks interesting!
I’m so glad for a great video on my birthday. Thank you Mandy!
Happy Birthday!!
@@seals48100 thank you
I have to make that brown rice and chicken, I could swear I could smell it through the screen! Many thanks!
Hi. I make my rice in the oven too. I sauté onions, carrots, poblano and a jalapeño add to rice and chicken stock and bake. Sometimes I change up the vegetables but alway make it spicy. Love the recipes. Blessings
I’m trying that chicken for sure!!! Yummy. Thanks for sharing with us!!
That chicken meal looks sooooooooo good!!!!!! My mouth is watering!
This is great! I use a similar marinade for my steak, and it also includes lemon. It's actually not used as much for flavor as it is for tenderizing the meat because of the acidity. I love using it! Fantastic video....of course, I haven't watched a video you've made that I didn't like!
Just got the notification you released a new what's for dinner and I'm always waiting on them lol...I just love your channel seriously love your voice and style of cooking..... and I just want you to know I look forward to every one!
Thank you i loved all three of these dinners
Lol I am so glad I am not the only one who doesn’t like to do the sauté part in the instant pot! Haha. I’m always afraid of getting burnt! Great dinner at his week! I’ll be making a couple of them! Watching you and your hubs is adorable it’s refreshing to see a couple together so long that still have so much fun together. ❤️
M
When I say I could eat that whole dish of rice...I really could eat the WHOLE DISH!
I couldn’t find a can of French onion soup at Aldi so I actually doubled the recipe and used 2ish cups of beef broth, 2ish cups of water and then a packet of the French onion soup mix and YUM. I can’t wait to make it again
O my Hanna that tomato soup looks Amazing!!!!!!!! Love your videos keep up the great work!!!!! Have a blessed and beautiful evening sweetie ♥️
I Love this. So amazing. Great ideas for dinners.
The only thing that would have made the subbie supper better is if there had been bacon in the grilled cheese sandwiches too! 😋
You're getting all kinds of fancy equipment in your kitchen. And you'll get to the point where you're not afraid of using any of them. 😃
Love the steaks! 😋 I would have been sitting by Cole with a ribeye. Oh yeah.
Everything looked so good, thanks for sharing the recipes.
Your husband is the coolest and kindest and greatest taste tester Ever! Mandy, your meals and recipes are great and easy to follow. Thank you so much for sharing and always smiling. Hugs and love from Canada 🇨🇦.
Wow that tomato soup looks amazing!!! Yum
Hey Kayla! I live in central Arkansas and also work at an elementary school! Thanks for sharing your yummy recipe with Mandy and all of us!
I just made the lemony garlic chicken with your brown rice and broccoli with cheese tonight for dinner and it was a huge hit! So delicious and so flavorful! Thank you!
Thank you! I want to make the tomato soup! so good!!! Thank you, Mandy! ❤
I have the same blender. The 2nd meal with the chicken looked really good. I'm not a fan of tomato soup either or any kind of soup unless I'm sick. Then I want soup. You all have a good weekend also.
I love the bloopers at the end, you guys are hilarious
I have all the components for the garlic lemon chicken including the “brown” rice, broccoli and instant pot. Making this tonight! Thank you!!
I love your videos.....the recipes, the finished dish presentation, and your family's commentary.
So going to make all of these! The chicken is for dinner tonight! Love your videos thank you!
Everything looks wonderful! ❤️
Mandy, I have an idea for you.... I make the same rice, but I take 3-4 bone in pork chops and season with season salt and paprika. Then brown on both sides and put on top of rice and cover with foil and bake for about an hour as well. Hope you give it a try🤓
We love the Kale chopped salad that comes premade with poppy seed dressing and cranberry/sunflower seed topping. I also add a cranberry/glazed walnut mix to the topping. It is awesome. I think it’s by Fresh Express. We also like their Asian chopped salad too😊❤️
👍👍👍 on all of these recipes! Can’t wait to try that tomato soup!
Just made the garlic chicken & your rice a year after this video was released. Made it in the Dutch oven instead of the instant pot bc I need a new seal. Wow! Absolutely delicious!
I love the kale salad, it’s one of our favorites, and leftovers will keep on this salad
Made the Lemon Butter Chicken and Beef Tips - delicious, but the Cheeseburger Wrap, sooo good🙂
Everything looked wonderful!
Another great video thanks. Your son dancing so cute
I absolutely love your family. You all look like you are having so much fun. I am going to give all of these recipes a try. I know I will have to tone down the red pepper flakes because we are old and don't do a lot of spices.
All these recipes are winners for sure!
Love it ..another great vlog 👌❤ thank you for sharing these wonderful recipes
All three recipes sound amazing. But I am interested mostly in trying the lemon chicken in the Insta pot :-) thank you for all your hard work and for sharing your family with us.
Gurl!! You knocked out of the park again!! Everything looks delish, and I'm trying to pick a favorite out of the three and I can't seem to it!! Thank you mandy, I truly enjoy your channel and family!! God bless ☺️♥️
Yummy yummy!! I will definitely try this for my family!!
Definitely trying that lemon garlic chicken and tomato soup!
Also, making a grilled cheese with mayo instead of butter is GODLY! Cook it low and slow with lots of cheese and put a lid on to really get it melty! Delicious!
I do mayo on the inside and butter on the outside 👌
