I had the pleasure of working backstage with these guys back a few months ago. Elwood was super cool with everyone and even gave the stage crew bass and guitar picks. They’ve still got it.
There will never be another band that can equal the greatness of ZZ Top. In my opinion they will go down in history as the greatest of all time, equaled only by the late great lynard Skynyrd

We all miss Dusty, but he essentially hand picked Elwood as his successor. Towards the end when Dusty had to miss shows due to his failing health, he nominated Elwood to fill in for him and supposedly told Billy that he wanted Elwood to take his place when he was gone.
Dusty is forever missed but Elwood is fucking killing it. Dusty himself chose Elwood to be his successor, and he grew his beard during the pandemic, Dusty would be proud.
How are so many mega bands lip syncing to tracks and these mf especially dusty who sat on an amp thru pain for us still playing their hearts out and not stopping. Real musicians playing real music.
I am a huge fan, and I have been since the 1980s. I even am a huge fan of their older catalog. But I am genuinely surprised they continued without dusty. Basically an unchanged lineup since about 1971, and I know that money can't be the issue after all of these years. It's just kind of strange in my opinion. But it's just an observation. Billy and Frank can do whatever they want, just odd

I've been hearing and listen to your music since I was a baby one of my all-time favorite bands I will go to my grave listening to you you keep on rocking as long as you can. And I swear to God I'll try my dentist to keep your music alive until I die is that a deal. I love you to death for real.
At this point.. I think the strings are just too afraid to not move. But I’m sure they’ll do whatever it takes to avoid being continuously touched by these men.

My first concert was ZZ Top in 1975, i took my 7 year old son to his first concert in 1993. Of course it was ZZ Top! He loved it!!!
