Vic Firth how is Jay getting the notation to look like that? What software program is that? (I have both Finale and Sibelius and I haven't seen that function).

Yes I have never seen such easy to follow notation!

Hey Juan, just replied to your email as well... It's actually not any specific software. It's custom system that I built for these lessons and my lessons on TDA.

The best yet method to learn the YYZ intro, which is actually not that tricky.
I'm suck at counting for the moment and trying to learn the beat by ear. There is one problem: the metronome heard very similar to the bass drum in some places, in the slower beat at least (1:20). That's kind of misleading for my ears :/

yes that second section with the snare hits & the timing...…………...All I can say is...… it would be Much easier if Geddy & Alex were standing there playing it with me cueing me in. Because that's about the only way to do it successfully that tight.

You are not playing what is written, on the bassdrum. You play more notes on the bassdrum than there are written.

As in the first video you play more kicks than what is written

Hey Andrea... I'm not sure where you are hearing or seeing those extra kicks. To which counts are you referring that you hear extra bass drum hits? Very curious... let me know.
