Hey guys, within the video descriptions I have included links to the tools and equipment that I use, along with many other items you see in the videos. Check them out!
Hi Solomon! So you started with screened centers in the 55gal drum. Then did you separate them by 1/8 and 1/16 and then flip them? Or did you separate them by 1/8" and 1/16" AFTER you did your flips? Trying to understand exactly at what step you sorted them by size. Thanks!
Like Marshall Rieff said all you have to work the material is 2 times, you’ll find your diamond on the tray. James archer told him that. I used to break down my material 6 times lol.
Glad I found your channel! Planning a like trip to the Park and definitely want to make best use of my time ! Really enjoy the detail info that you give. You have a good , clear speaking voice which helps . Thanks again! I'm hoping for a little success during my vacation! 🤞🤞🤞
At 8:26 there is something brown that shines,(near the middle of the screen) I thought that was the diamond you were pointing out lol Guess I need to study more.
could you run them under a black light, some glow some don't, I was just curious as what percent from there glow under UV. could you post some info on other minerals found there... happy hunting
I show them under a black light at the end of my 2019 overview video, i think about 10 percent from the Crater of Diamonds will fluoresce. I will at some point soon have a video out with other minerals. Thanks for Watching!
Can you share the location of where you bought your saruca? We are going to be road tripping down in April and would love to pick one up before going to the park!
Erin Ryke i bought this from the Miners Camp office just past the park entrance. They are also available from carolinaprospector.com. If you dont actually run dozens of buckets of material, they are not necessary. I rarely use mine, I can concentrate with my screens. Sarucas will increase volume, but if its just you mining, it takes a lot to produce more centers than you can cary out.
We just spent a day there on our way back to Texas, we have two buckets of stuff to go through. Is there anything we can use other than a saruca to sort them out?
For take home gravel, if it is already concentrated you can dry it and search. If you need to further concentrate, a saruca is best, but you can use a box screen if the screen is still tight.
@@TheArkansasDiamondMiner Thanks! I'm having the most trouble just telling the difference between rough diamond and quartz. I saw the examples they have on display and watched a ton of videos, but I still wouldn't know a diamond if it hit me in the head.
I just went there and brought back a five gallon bucket of gravel and looked through it and I'm pretty sure I found a brown diamond but I'm not sure should I take it to a jeweler?
A jeweler might be able to ID one, but many are unfamiliar with uncut stones. If you could find a local gemologist, you might be able to have it correctly identified. If you are a member of the Facebook group Crater of Diamonds, you could post a picture and some of the same people that ID them at the park may be able to give advice. If it is a diamond, you would have to return to the park with it to have it certified as an Arkansas diamond and get the card to accompany it. Hope to see pics in the FB group, and Good luck!
I have thought about. The grease would have to be a specific weight and temperature to work well. Check out Genuine Diamonds in AR channel, I think he has a video with one he uses.
Doni Findlay I have never tried to put a value on any of the diamonds i have found. You are allowed to take a 5 gallon bucket of washed gravel home per paid entrance per day.
Grease tables are pretty finicky. The temperatures of the water and grease must be exact, the viscosity of the grease has to be extremely specific, etc. There are several variables that have to be considered, and for the small volume I run, it just isn’t feasible.
ive also wondered why people havnt bought gravel banks in very near streams. yes. those are teeny. theres now way that the diamonds are soley focussed in the crater of diamonds park. i wish you my extreme best wishes.
Value is kind of a tricky assessment. I have a fun hobby that keeps me in shape, lets me meet like minded people from about everywhere you can think of, and occasionally I find a cool keepsake. For me, there is no monetary value, I give away what I find. There is always a chance that I could find a large one, then I might sell it, but who knows.
Robert Duty no, it was a fellow miner named Troy. There are two Troys that mine there, both of which are great guys and help newbs and tourists out frequently with advice.
Stephen Appleby I have never even tried to put a value on the diamonds i have found. There are so many things that affect valuation for them, I wouldn’t know where to begin. I have always viewed them as keepsakes and give them to my kids. Some miners sell them in town or on ebay and websites, but price is usually more between how bad seller wants to sell or how bad buyer wants to buy.
The Arkansas Diamond Miner I guess I see you spend a lot of time and effort I just assumed you were making money, I am a rock hound we collect agates and sunstones in Oregon.

You are a gold mine in a diamond field, Sol. Thank you for the updates of education. Glad to see the fields back open!
Charles Kelly thank you. I am glad you enjoyed the video, and I hope they help!
If you want to see the metallic luster of a diamond in the gravel, check out the 6:05 mark where it is shining at me and I don't see it!

Good Luck! I hope you find a BIG one!!!
Great info. I sure hope you come out of this pandemic with at least 1000 subs so you can start getting paid for your work. Good luck!
Just Plain Common Sense thank you!
Great saves Solomon! I bet you won't miss the small ones now.
Always a good idea to learn from others….

well now I wonder if I had missed another one!
Yeah, that's what I thought he was referring to as well.
@@katpillar4131 I thought the same thing! I kept pointing at it with my mouse arrow! LOL
Same here, at 8:28 it is in the center of screen about 1 in from the knife tip directly to the right.
I thought the same thing!!

@@killodendron you’ll know it when you see it. It will be much shinier than quartz.

Thank you it was my first time going there so I was a little unfamiliar with what I'm supposed to do if I find one in the gravel I took home
I'll try the Facebook group
Ever thought about using a grease slide?
I have thought about. The grease would have to be a specific weight and temperature to work well. Check out Genuine Diamonds in AR channel, I think he has a video with one he uses.
What was the value of what you found? And can you take your own buckets-home to go through?
Doni Findlay I have never tried to put a value on any of the diamonds i have found. You are allowed to take a 5 gallon bucket of washed gravel home per paid entrance per day.
why arent you using grease with a turn table?
Grease tables are pretty finicky. The temperatures of the water and grease must be exact, the viscosity of the grease has to be extremely specific, etc. There are several variables that have to be considered, and for the small volume I run, it just isn’t feasible.

For me, there is no monetary value, I give away what I find. There is always a chance that I could find a large one, then I might sell it, but who knows.
Thanks! for the support! Sorry I missed ya in the chat
Creator Fundamentals no worries! Enjoyed the live stream!
That’s my dream vacation to go dig for diamonds
Shirley Burns it is loads of fun! Any plans to visit?
The Arkansas Diamond Miner hopefully this spring
Shirley Burns Great! Hope you find a big one!
Was it Ivan the diamond miners advise?
Robert Duty no, it was a fellow miner named Troy. There are two Troys that mine there, both of which are great guys and help newbs and tourists out frequently with advice.
Lol I was just ribbing you a little. Congrats on the diamonds I want to come down there this summer with the family and do some searching if my own.
Robert Duty Best of luck to you on your visit!!
Damn, nice video
Thanks, hope it helps!!
So how much are those diamonds worth?
Stephen Appleby I have never even tried to put a value on the diamonds i have found. There are so many things that affect valuation for them, I wouldn’t know where to begin. Stephen Appleby awesome! I have not searched for much other than diamonds, too many other hobbies! It hooks you for sure.
