The mess, food & water bottles are from a squatter/s. No way is someone who is a collector of fine art and has a house decorated like that gonna trash it. You did say the neighbors told you the police removed a squatter. They don't throw trash out.
Poor cat. It did what cats do when they're suffering at the end. They find some place to be alone & expire. 😿 The least you could have done out of kindness is cover the remains with a cloth or towel.
Too bad someone didn't go open the door when the cat was still living. At least it could have used its wild instincts to stay alive. Poor little thing. If they had their utilities set up on AWD from the bank, and that account still has money on it, then that explains the electric still being on.
So here's my assumption. This is the second RUclipsr Ive seen walk through the house. Basically same condition. Im guessing that the guy got a divorce and was later in his life maybe 50-60. Im guessing the divorce hit him hard and he either didnt have kids or kids were grown and far away. The loneliness and sadness caused noticable mental illness with the hoarding and everything going on in the house. The guy is either dead or in a mental hospital. Guy mustve been rather wealthy as the bank hasnt taken the house meaning its paid off. The cars license plate being from 08 could also signify the guy was involved in real estate as my dad started losing it in 08-09 when the housing market crashed. Its safe to assume the house has been sitting since 08-10 as that BMW is known to be reliable and a highly sought after car meaning even if he didnt want it people would line up to buy it.
