Watch the whole video! I go over everything! I think tracing is totally fine as long as they don’t credit it as their own, ask permission to trace from the artist before hand, and give credits to that artist. It’s a great source of practice. Thanks again for 20K! It’s so awesome.

In my opinion, tracing is fine but it depends though! Tracing art as practice can be a great way to practice anatomy! I’ve actually traced art before to practice fur and eyes sometimes. If you trace art and clam it as yours then that’s not right! Everyone has traced art before probably! I would usually just look at photos and look at the shading. Or I look at the position of the animal and try to re-create it differently. Thank you for making this video, Leamon! And the art in the background of the video is absolutely, STUNNING!!! And congratulations on 20K!!!
I personally don’t like when people trace *my* artwork, but as long as they ask permission and give credit then I won’t really mind it as much. Also congrats on 20k! You deserve it!
For me as a beginner in art, I didn’t trace the art but I copied it in my own style to increase my skills- but I never shared it and claimed it as my own work because like you said, it wouldn’t be fair for the original artist

Hi Leamon! First of all, congratulations on 20k subscribers! You’ve come so far, and I’m glad there are so many people noticing how much work you put into your videos. You deserve it so much! Second, I really like drawing, but I’ve been struggling to find an art style. Do you think you could make a video on how to find an art style? Or do you maybe have some tips? Tysm Leamon! I definitely agree with this!! Tracing art for practice and giving full credit is a good thing and can help, but tracing art and claiming it as your own or just not giving credit at all is bad and no one should be stealing Congrats on 20k!!!!
I'm a professional artist and I've never traced anything as practice. I get a lot of people I'm close to saying it is fine as practice, but I just can't see it. Was certainly NEVER taught it in the art department of my college either. I'm not gonna try to make people feel bad for trying to learn, people can do what they think is right, but I don't think it is the best way to study. I'm a firm believer that drawing something over and over again is how you learn to draw it better each time. But who knows, I'm an artist not an art teacher. x3 Maybe I'm stubborn about it.
So your school didnt...use lightboxes? Or animation courses? Traditional animation is like 90% tracing yourself yk. Frame by frame is a nightmare for it - cause you CANT 'try to draw it better every time,' you HAVE to keep it on model. over, and over, and overagain.
In my video I say you don’t have to trace. It’s honestly just up to the person. Following the drawing movements as you trace can help keep certain drawing imagery in your brain. But you can also learn without tracing. Again it’s kinda just up to the person. I like your opinion though that’s interesting. I’ve seen some art teachers say tracing is alright (as practice) but that was in my middle and high school classes. I guess it depends on the teacher too.
I think it depends on the context I feel like full on tracing isn't as helpful in terms of practice as doing study lines (basically creating a sketch of the form/shapes/lines rather than just tracing over the exterior lines) but that could technically be called "tracing" it is just a different strategy that is more useful for practice
@@ozzit4194 Traditional animation is a different topic. Lightboxes, using onion layers in digital art, etc. are part of the animation process; you and I agree on that. :) My previous opinion was just in regards to personal study, like improving someone's understanding in anatomy.
In my opinion, you are mostly correct, it isn't wrong to trace art *as long* as you aren't claiming it as your art. However, if you're tracing for anatomy, a LOT of digital artists who aim for a cartoonier style struggle with correct anatomy, whether intentional or not. If anatomy/proportions is what the person is going for, tracing real images are likely a better decision. This is my opinion, however, and anyone reading is allowed to have theirs ^^ (I am not shaming anyone for being "bad" at anatomy. A lot of artists purposefully make eyes or other details physically larger, as it is only their style. Unless the artist finds it rude for someone to mimic their style, art tracing with your point is alright imo. Though, most artists I come across find it flattering to have another get inspired by their style.)
I see another argument some up when traced art is talked about, the difference between tracing art and similar art styles. I see a lot of people accuse others are tracing art when they have a very close art style to someone else. I see two sides to that argument one side saying it's copying the artist another side saying that art styles can't be "copied" as the artist can't own a style. I think maybe this should be brought up in another video (Unless you've already made a video about it and I just didn't see)
I completely agree with all of this, couldn’t have said it better myself. My one thing to add, you shouldn’t JUST trace to improve, you should still do studies and art from eye, it helps just as well as tracing. When you’re just beginning, tracing is great! But when you’re further on, studies and breaking down art and photos to different shapes, is the way to go. Great video :>
I trace art for hard poses, anotomy and faces to improve my art because this parts is hard, and i dont use this art in contests and dont show it anywhere. I think i improved a lot in faces and can draw mouths now :D

YESSS, thank you! i struggled finding a human style for my human oc, especially since i had little experience drawing human anatomy, and found a drawing that i thought would match that character. so traced it in a slightly more version of my style (i changed the hair tho), and now my first non-traced attempt is my pfp rn. btw, i didn’t post that practice trace or claim it as my own. now it just stays in my photos 😭
I know this is kinda unrelated to the video... but, you've improved so very much in your art. When I first started watching your videos, your drawings where already amazing, but, you've reached w WHOLE new level! the shading, background, etc. Just, wow.
This video is very well-made. Many videos that I've personally seen in the past, made tracing feel like an insane crime. But it isn't! I remember my mom telling me something along the lines of what leamon puppy said in this video, and its true for the most part. I barely trace anything because of the negative connotation it has. It's honestly stunted my growth at points, so hopefully this message will get more wide-spread. Because it's a healthy mindset in my opinion!
How wonderful! Exactly. I agree with all of your words, If you want to trace, You should do it only to practice, or at least give credit to the person who made the original art if you would like to post it. I love to draw and I love your art Leamon! Thank you for making this video, I will always keep it in mind. ❤
Thanks for making this video! There are some bad artists out there, but if someone wants to trace my art, I don’t mind as long as they have permission and credit me.
I agree with you but I still get mad when I think about the time at school a girl asked for my drawing and I said yes so I gave it to her and minutes later I walked to her desk to see what she was drawing. And what I saw was she has traced my drawing multiple times and one she colored in and cut out and taped to her notebook. I told her to give credit but she never did. This went on for days until I asked for my drawing back and she hesitated a lot but then gave it over. I remember saying under my breath - just trace your traced ones then - 💀
Well tracing is only bad when you post it and claim as your own. I only trace for practice and i never post it and claim as my own so you wouldn't get the artist mad or furious at the artist who traces your art
Once in school my art got trace and said it was hers and told her friends that it's okay to trace it now 7 people traced it l tried telling her about it and she said : NOO I DID NOT SHOW ME PROOF THEN!!! . So yeah.:') But she stopped tracing me now.
AAAH Everyone in my class decides to copy me and steal my ideas! I HATE IT. I stopped drawing at school bc of it. I only draw at home where no one can copy me😑
I've actually seen artist/animators who would let people trace their art/animations as long as they gave credit and you don't even have to ask them, but I still ask because I feel like I would get in trouble even though they said it was okay 😭
I saw this 5 minutes after I finished my cursed Garfield parody, where I traced a picture of Jon. Tracing can help you get to great places, and also the one where I am now.
In my opinion, it depends on the situation and why you do it If you trace real life images for an idea of how to draw it/you want realism but don't have much time/if you can't figure out how to draw it with just the reference, I think it's okay. If you post it online just say that you traced a real life image Tracing somebody elses work for reference, and not posting the tracing, is okay, just credit them for the pose of the finished drawing Tracing somebody elses work for clout and/or claiming it as your own is never okay, even if you credit the og artist, it might've taking them hours to do that, and you simply tracing over it pretty much destroys all of their work Tracing your own art is obviously, always okay This is just my opinion, but I'd be happy to look at other perspectives :)) EDIT: tracing for reference and/or practice is also okay, but just credit the photo you used :)
Honestly I’ve had guilt in the past and present when I trace for posing even if I don’t post it and this helped me actually not feel too bad because I only react to help my anatomy
Your. Art. Is. GORGEOUS!!! I love it so much tbh. One day I hope to be as good at drawing as you and your art style is amazing, can’t wait for next video
Tracing in general is bad- because many artists have abused the title of this. Tracing other peoples work and claiming it as your own is, well not right and unacceptable. Coming from a former tracer, most people who have traced are younger kids who don’t grasp the concept of how bad it is, and most likely feel like their art isn’t good enough for social media. Tracing in question? It depends on the type. I’ve seen many popular artists trace, but not to claim it or post it? It’s commonly used to practice and help them understand anatomy and perspectives. Most artists will trace real images or A.I. images. This is ok, because it’s not being passed off as their own original work. It’s rather for practice more than making a whole new piece. It depends on what you’re referring too. So in general? No tracing isn’t bad, but tracing and stealing that persons art is.
Your right! Tracing isnt bad at all! It helps you learn It helped me too:D I used to trace But your also right that its wrong that you trace and claim the art too be yours💖
I began drawing a few years ago and at first I also traced a lot of pics but never claimed them as my own. It just helped me so much with stuff like atonomy and clothing :> i think it is okay as long as the person that traced doesn't claim it as their own art. i see a lot of traced OCs, animals etc. which is kinda sad because they dont mention anyone even tho it sometimes is clear from which content creator the characters are (sry if my grammar is bad, i usually dont write comments in english xD)
Honestly, if you do ask the artist and give credit, I think it'll be fine. But when people trace and don't give credit, while people may go after the tracer, some people actually go after the original artist, especially when the tracer is a popular person. I've personally had that happen to me before, where some people would attack me rather than the person who traced. Overall, using tracing is a very good tactic to learn, and at the start, it really does help!
@@falling_sneks Sometimes people don't go for the original artist, but if a popular person traced it and someone else has it, then people will go after the original artist, as people tend to believe popular people a lot more, unfortunately. This personally happened to me before, luckily the post was taken down as people found out, but yeah.
I learned how to draw by tracing, it helped me learn anatomy and such, it helped me see different art styles and decide which types I liked best, as long as you don’t claim it as your own it’s fine
I love this video! I would personally be upset if someone traced my art, ( my art isn’t even good enough for someone to want to trace though ) but I mean if they use there own style.. idk it’s just hard to explain lol
Sometimes when I make dumb images I trace over a cursed image or a meme or something, and tracing can be good practice. HOWEVER, posting it and claiming you made it isn’t good.
I'm tracing art right now, simply because I'm new to digital art and haven't really found my style yet - it may be a mix of anime and semi-realism because those are the two styles I turn to most for inspiration. I found the way I enjoy painting, yes, but my style is up in the air still. I credit the artists I trace from, and link to the photos I find on Pinterest for all of my videos. And since I'm tracing a lot as of right now, I have a broad statement in my vid descriptions that says, "Credit to the original artist for the reference." I also have a "Read me" disclaimer on my about page for RUclips, discussing that I trace, and linking to a video where I commented on tracing with my experiences. Tracing for me has greatly improved the quality of my art, my videos, and my workflow. Although, with Inktober going on atm (since it's my first one), my workflow has been lacking. Tracing to me isn't bad at all - in fact, I feel like all artists have traced at one point in their lives. That's how I originally started - tracing pictures of the anime Naruto. Or even having a makeshift light-box by putting a page of manga against a window with the sun shining through. The stigma against people who trace isn't really good for people's self-esteem; neither for the tracer because they feel like they're abilities won't be able to match those of professional artists, or for the person fighting them about tracing because they're angry. Tracing is a tool to help artists. 💜 The way I think about it: why can't we all just enjoy our own art journeys regardless of whether an artwork or photo is traced? Drama isn't good for the mind, heart, and body. We should all be happy with who we are, and find positivity in what we enjoy. For me, digital art is one of those things. 😊💜 Sorry for the long-winded comment - I just thought I'd shed some light on my personal experiences with tracing. I never really thought it was bad, because like Ethan Becker (he makes really cool art tutorial/tip videos), "Nothing is original," and that's true. But that doesn't mean you can't take a traced piece and make it original to you. I'm a very positive person, and I try to be transparent with a lot of things and have an open mind. Please, don't mind the ramble. Have a nice day, everyone! 💜
i traced a few times when i was younger, but normally i just look at references and go through trial and error until my lines look good. its the harder way sure but its always worked well for me
Tracing is okay as a practicing method, but it becomes a problem when the person monetizes it, shares it as an fully original art, posted online. These can cause problems in the career due to misunderstanding from the potential employers. Plagiarism is not just wrong, it’s *manipulative.* I sometimes used the Easy Poser app to help with poses and anatomy, but I try not to depend on it too much in recent years, but it has improved my art immensely. Like the paper some people use to trace, *be transparent* about your art. Is it weird to feel levels of regret of tracing someone’s art at like a young age without knowing about the discourse about tracing online or was I just intuitive for my age? (RUclips wth am I saying wrong)
I look at drawings and look back at my paper and would draw it really good and I prevent myself from tracing to stay away from that faze and I have trouble with faces. I started by tracing when I was younger and started to draw better by just looking at it at 12 and I'm 13 now and am better at it than I was. Tracing helped me a lot, but I still need to know to do better on my own, so looking at it and looking back helped a lot and now I'm doing a little better at doing it by myself and I'm 13. But I'll NEVER claim something as mine when it is not and if I make something similar by accident I would either do a whole different drawing or change it so it's not too similar.
my opinion on tracing is you can trace to learn proportions or other things but you should not post on entertainment platforms like youtube it or claim it as your own
I find tracing fine as long as you don’t take credit or if it’s a real life picture you only trace the basic shape ( I do this often for animals that I’m not familiar with, I trace over them and turn their body into basic shapes ! )
Yes I do that all the time first I'll take a photo of my real life pet, trace it, color it in, and finally, make the eyes and mouth cartoony and have expression.
Before watching the video, Tracing is only bad when posted and claiming it to be your own. Tracing is a way to learn. But should ony be used for learning forms. I use it as a way to learn anatomy. But you could use it as a way to find your art style.
imo, I have mixed feelings for tracing. Tracing can help you, and help you even form a style, but its best to keep it either private, or credit + ask the artist beforehand! it can also help you understand portions in bodies (for me, i trace my own hands lol, or look at a reference which ISNT BAD!) tracing can really help you out on the other hand, and benefits you alot. However tracing can be used for negative things as well :') tracing others w/o permit can cause the og creator to be brought down (this is just my own experience since i was traced w/o permission in the past), and can give people a really bad light! Again, mixed feelings, but most of my feelings for tracing is very positive, since I literally trace my own hands or body, or just look at references! this is really well explained, this is very well explained on both sides and i can completely agree w u in this vid tbf
Feel free to attack me because of my opinions Tracing isnt bad but it would be annoying I still remember when somebody said ' people attacks the tracers of ####, but defends #### when they traced because theyre 13. but what IF the tracers of #### was 9/10? ' I also do tracings when i was 8 . I was curious how to draw a cat so i traced someone Sorry for my grammars i don't know hwo to english
I agree! I did traced aswell when i first started and yes, i didn't post it aswell anywhere because i did not have any social medias. I never posted the drawings i traced! I even had a tracer from my old account RosePlayz_OvO The person is just really rude and all- I would agree to someone to trace my art! But they must give credit. This video is very good to learn not to be mad at ALL tracers CONGRATS ON 20K BTW!!
I started out tracing but it felt super wrong to me even though i gave credit and asked permission. Its just not the same as making your own art and being able to say that i made that. The amount of joy i feel when making art is amazing.
Hey leamon puppy just asking sense in the near future I will make my own RUclips channel and I will draw some stuff my drawing skills look terrible I can’t draw hands nor can I draw most stuff I’m only good at drawing animals as people with animal parts but just asking is it ok if I can trace over one of your drawings I will give you full credit at the end but is it ok just to get better
Honestly referencing is way better for learning than tracing. Tracing is really simple and youre not thinking about any of it. Unlike referencing and actually studying it.
Hello! Just wanted to ask, can I trace one of your arts? I wanna draw animal creatures and mythical stuff, but I'm not too good at art. I also don't post art but I will title the art and give credit to you. Is it fine If I do?
I once traced artwork and posted it online without realising what tracing was lol- (I just did a lineart, I'm terrible with digital :")) I feel like tracing artwork is fine for practice and experienced artists, and if people post their art online then it's fine as long as it's not for commisions or contests
There is something that I do. Is it the same thing to draw exactly what you see? It’s not tracing but I technically copied the art. Though I never claim it as mine. I’m just curious.
One day I started to draw on my new sqishmellow Notebook but then I lost the ability to draw I was so sad that I couldn’t draw so the next day I started tracing and I got used to it and I got better now I am good at drawing
First, congratulations on 20k subs! Second, I honestly dont care about people who trace, but I personally dont think that people should post it on the internet and definitely shouldnt say its your own art.
Also I agree so muchh drawing eyes is so hard for me, I usually just copied one of the eyes and changed them slightly xD and now I do traditional art, I can't copy and paste lol and I feel like one of the eyes looks amazing and the other looks OK but not as good ;w;
a few years ago I traced Moonkitti to try to find my artstyle, and it helped me be able to draw cats better. But i used it as my profile picture and didnt give credit. I did say the art wasnt mine but didnt say who it belonged to
Leamon Puppy: thanks for 20K guys! Leamon Puppy: *proceeds to go up by 6K* But seriously, congrats! That’s such a huge milestone! I absolutely agree with everything you said. In my opinion, tracing’s fine for practice. You shouldn’t steal art or trace it or use traced art for profitable gain. ACTUALLY, using it for profitable gain is against the law and violates copyright, so. . . Yeah. This is just me, but I would also go as far to saying that you shouldn’t post traced practice Art just to be safe in most occasions. However, that’s just me. Really, I don’t see the drama of it. As long as you aren’t bluntly stealing something, it’s alright. :) Congrats again! ^^
In my opinion, tracing is fine unless you claim the art as your own. I think tracing is a big help, trying to learn how to draw certain things. I really want to be an artist, and I'm bad at drawing eyes, hands, noses, and such. I have traced before, but I never posted it on a social media and such. I just traced to help with my drawing skills. So yeah in my opinion, I think tracing is ok.
Yes, in my opinion, only if u copy the same thing and say it's yours. I personally trace art in AJPW but I dont even make it an mp. I just try to challenge myself by seeing if I can draw good. (I can't XD! But I still like to lol) I've tried to draw your style to see if I'm good at it- just to help my art skills. I kinda suck at it XD. But again, it's still really fun to try.
Im going to make an animatic and I am going to trace some art from aj archives, but I don't a channel BUTTT if I did, I would credit them and credit a different person for the song I'm using
This may be random but most of my drawing I look at references draw them on paper then trace the drawing on paper on my phone would that be consider tracing
Yes you are right in this sense, however those who tracing the drawings of other people and who say a return that it is their drawings that they created themselves (that they steal them) it is inadmissible they can very well search for free bases on the Internet
Ok guys I need ur help So basically I wanted to draw something for one of my fav RUclipsrs so I decided to doodle their pfp and obvs it didn’t look the exact same but I didn’t care I was just happy that I made smth for them. Btw i never said when i later posted it that I created it I just wanted to draw them a little doodle. So I posted it and a few hours later they told me to delete it and that I traced it and stole it. I was rlly upset because I hadn’t traced I just wanted to draw them smth. I did delete it and then apologised but it felt like they were rlly mad at me, especially when they kept saying never do that again. Are they overrreacting or am I in the wrong PLS tell me!
I was scared if I traced I would get hate or other stuff but it is true I did trace something last month and added my own style from my old one and now I have the whole drawing in my head and it is probably the only thing I can draw because tracing does take a lot of time and so does the art that was made so I don’t really trace often There is no grammar in this
Watch the whole video! I go over everything! I think tracing is totally fine as long as they don’t credit it as their own, ask permission to trace from the artist before hand, and give credits to that artist. It’s a great source of practice. Thanks again for 20K! It’s so awesome.

I trace art for hard poses, anotomy and faces to improve my art because this parts is hard, and i dont use this art in contests and dont show it anywhere. I think i improved a lot in faces and can draw mouths now :D
When I first started drawing I would trace. But now I’ll watch speed-paints on how to make the main sketch better and iv really improved!
O m g U HAVE 21K ALREADY WHAT THE- LEAMON JUST HOW DO U DO THAT THAT'S AMAZING U LIGIT JUST HAD 20K JUST HOW THAT'S JUST SO COOL I'M A BIG FAN LEAMON XDD GL ON 30K :3 BC IT WILL TAKE I LIKE 3 MIN XDD welp I agree w u on this vid bc tracing is good when u start art I ALWAYS used to do that xdd but entering art competitions or posting it or claiming it as ur own is just wrong so I wanna say to anyone who wants to be an artist u can trace but don't post or anything so yeah sorry for da long message leamon xdd also im truly sorry if this offeded u i didnt mean to offend u have a nice day!! :3 - sred40
Congrats again on 20k! Also, nice art! ❤️
Thanks for making this video! There are some bad artists out there, but if someone wants to trace my art, I don’t mind as long as they have permission and credit me.
Been here since 19k! I'm glad you reached out goal!:)
Thanks for the great video and congratulations on 20k!
Congrats on 20k, Leamon, very proud :D
I saw this 5 minutes after I finished my cursed Garfield parody, where I traced a picture of Jon. Tracing can help you get to great places, and also the one where I am now.
In my opinion, it depends on the situation and why you do it
If you trace real life images for an idea of how to draw it/you want realism but don't have much time/if you can't figure out how to draw it with just the reference, I think it's okay. If you post it online just say that you traced a real life image
Tracing somebody elses work for reference, and not posting the tracing, is okay, just credit them for the pose of the finished drawing
Tracing somebody elses work for clout and/or claiming it as your own is never okay, even if you credit the og artist, it might've taking them hours to do that, and you simply tracing over it pretty much destroys all of their work
Tracing your own art is obviously, always okay
This is just my opinion, but I'd be happy to look at other perspectives :))
EDIT: tracing for reference and/or practice is also okay, but just credit the photo you used :)
I love how distinctive your artstyle is!
Your art is so beuatiful!!! Congrats for all the subs too!!! And I literally agree with everything in this video...and OML youre so sweeettt
Honestly I’ve had guilt in the past and present when I trace for posing even if I don’t post it and this helped me actually not feel too bad because I only react to help my anatomy
I used to trace a few years ago, and I learned from these mistakes. I'm glad I stopped
Your. Art. Is.
I don’t think some kids post about it though
Your right!
Tracing isnt bad at all!
It helps you learn
It helped me too:D
I used to trace
But your also right that its wrong that you trace and claim the art too be yours💖
WOW 20k! Huge milestone. Wow. You’re growing so quickly!! I can’t wait to keep watching your future content.
Omg I love that background you did in the drawing u did during the video. Aaaaaa.
i love your art!! cgs on 20k!
context is key. but usually it’s not great; even if you’re trying to learn it isn’t that effective
You inspired me to draw animals from animal jam and those ajpw people as humans and stuff
Congrats on 20.5k Leamon Puppy!!!
In my opinion if it’s a base you are fine to use it. There is no such thing as base theft. *cough* unkownspy *cough*
I agree, and I dunno why someone would go for the og artist
@@falling_sneks Sometimes people don't go for the original artist, but if a popular person traced it and someone else has it, then people will go after the original artist, as people tend to believe popular people a lot more, unfortunately. This personally happened to me before, luckily the post was taken down as people found out, but yeah.
I learned how to draw by tracing, it helped me learn anatomy and such, it helped me see different art styles and decide which types I liked best, as long as you don’t claim it as your own it’s fine
Congrats on 20k Leamon! You deseve it!
I love this video! I would personally be upset if someone traced my art, ( my art isn’t even good enough for someone to want to trace though ) but I mean if they use there own style.. idk it’s just hard to explain lol
Eyes on fleek as always 😜👊
I agree with your points though, it definitely depends on what they do and why they're tracing.
Sometimes when I make dumb images I trace over a cursed image or a meme or something, and tracing can be good practice. HOWEVER, posting it and claiming you made it isn’t good.
Congrats for 20k 🎉🎉!!
Tysm!
And since I'm tracing a lot as of right now, I have a broad statement in my vid descriptions that says, "Credit to the original artist for the reference."
I also have a "Read me" disclaimer on my about page for RUclips, discussing that I trace, and linking to a video where I commented on tracing with my experiences.
The way I think about it: why can't we all just enjoy our own art journeys regardless of whether an artwork or photo is traced? Drama isn't good for the mind, heart, and body. We should all be happy with who we are, and find positivity in what we enjoy.
For me, digital art is one of those things. 😊💜
Sorry for the long-winded comment - I just thought I'd shed some light on my personal experiences with tracing.
Plagiarism is not just wrong, it’s *manipulative.*
I sometimes used the Easy Poser app to help with poses and anatomy, but I try not to depend on it too much in recent years, but it has improved my art immensely.
I agree with ur opinion! (Congrats on 20k🥳)
Yep I agree! Thanks for making this vid! Ur vids are always super interesting I always listen to them while playing aj! Ur art is amazing too btw! :))
This made me feel a better because I sometimes trace art :")
But I don't post anything
What drawing program do you use? Also congrats on 20k!
Feel free to attack me because of my opinions
Tracing isnt bad but it would be annoying
I still remember when somebody said
' people attacks the tracers of ####, but defends #### when they traced because theyre 13. but what IF the tracers of #### was 9/10? '
I also do tracings when i was 8 . I was curious how to draw a cat so i traced someone
Sorry for my grammars i don't know hwo to english
I agree! I did traced aswell when i first started and yes, i didn't post it aswell anywhere because i did not have any social medias. I never posted the drawings i traced! I even had a tracer from my old account RosePlayz_OvO
The person is just really rude and all-
I would agree to someone to trace my art! But they must give credit.
This video is very good to learn not to be mad at ALL tracers CONGRATS ON 20K BTW!!
Same sentiment here! Me and my friend both agree on this as well.
Leamon I love your content and your just so nice I love how u don’t want people to hate ❤️❤️❤️
Your welcome! :) but yes if you trace it is not good if you don't get permission
There is something that I do. Is it the same thing to draw exactly what you see? It’s not tracing but I technically copied the art. Though I never claim it as mine. I’m just curious.
I love you art style, is so cute^^
Ty
One day I started to draw on my new sqishmellow
Notebook but then I lost the ability to draw I was so sad that I couldn’t draw so the next day I started tracing and I got used to it and I got better now I am good at drawing
First, congratulations on 20k subs!
Second, I honestly dont care about people who trace, but I personally dont think that people should post it on the internet and definitely shouldnt say its your own art.
Also I agree so muchh drawing eyes is so hard for me, I usually just copied one of the eyes and changed them slightly xD and now I do traditional art, I can't copy and paste lol and I feel like one of the eyes looks amazing and the other looks OK but not as good ;w;
I’m glad u posted a video about this I wanted to make one but never had the confidence and your supporting my option
Also congrats lemon on 20.5k!
Tysm! Haha
@@LeamonPuppy you deserve it❤❤❤💗
a few years ago I traced Moonkitti to try to find my artstyle, and it helped me be able to draw cats better. But i used it as my profile picture and didnt give credit. I did say the art wasnt mine but didnt say who it belonged to
Leamon Puppy: thanks for 20K guys!
Leamon Puppy: *proceeds to go up by 6K*
But seriously, congrats! ^^
Tracing art with credit:okay, only a bit of hate
Tracing and claiming it yours(aka Kca tracers):
*no,just no*
In my opinion, tracing is fine unless you claim the art as your own.
Also congrats on 20k!!
Chose watching this over a nap
That’s commitment
Yes, in my opinion, only if u copy the same thing and say it's yours. I personally trace art in AJPW but I dont even make it an mp. I just try to challenge myself by seeing if I can draw good. (I can't XD! But I still like to lol) I've tried to draw your style to see if I'm good at it- just to help my art skills. I kinda suck at it XD. But again, it's still really fun to try.
Im going to make an animatic and I am going to trace some art from aj archives, but I don't a channel BUTTT if I did, I would credit them and credit a different person for the song I'm using
So btw I am inspired by your art style I love it and didn’t know it existed until I watched your vids btw I’m 9
This may be random but most of my drawing I look at references draw them on paper then trace the drawing on paper on my phone would that be consider tracing
Speaking of tracing, do you mind if I trace some of your art so I can get poses right? I probably won't post and *if* I do I will credit
Yes you are right in this sense, however those who tracing the drawings of other people and who say a return that it is their drawings that they created themselves (that they steal them) it is inadmissible they can very well search for free bases on the Internet
Is this also a rule/opinion for tracing sketches? Like the ones on ibis paintx that are ment to be traced. Like if people don't post them?
I would never trace a drawing and say its my own
Also I have another question is taking inspiration and using things from others art ok if you just need help getting ideas?
I %100 agree with this, tracing is a great form of practice! As long as you don't post it, this is a great way to improve.
Ok guys I need ur help
So basically I wanted to draw something for one of my fav RUclipsrs so I decided to doodle their pfp and obvs it didn’t look the exact same but I didn’t care I was just happy that I made smth for them. Are they overrreacting or am I in the wrong PLS tell me!
so i think my sister would like ur art shes well studing to become a art teacher and i think she would like your art style leamon:)
One thing I didn’t do I never properly traced plus I didn’t need to I found my own art style
I was scared if I traced I would get hate or other stuff but it is true I did trace something last month and added my own style from my old one and now I have the whole drawing in my head and it is probably the only thing I can draw because tracing does take a lot of time and so does the art that was made so I don’t really trace often
There is no grammar in this
