I have the Perception Tribe 11.5 and have modified it a lot - good second kayak but light at 52 lbs. Now, 70 lbs is considered light but I like the high seat. Even my Profish 400 is only 62 lbs at 13'6. Just right for me. Interesting to see though what competition does. Nice products. Ten years ago I had a Perception Napali that was 15 feet long, considered a beast at that time at 75 lbs, touring SOT and fast. Perceptions are well made.
Im very interested in this kayak. I’ve owned two other perception kayaks at around the same price point and hated them and told myself id never get another perception. But seeing this has really changed my mind
Solid looking kayak for that price... Really like the high seat... I don't see any foot rests, hopefully they will add them in the finished version... Great job by them
Thanks for the vids Aliex. Its amazing to see how many new fishing kayaks are coming out. Hope you get a chance to demo it and let us know how it is. The seating position looks great.
I need a stern driven pedal drive system for about $500-$700 that can be universal. Hope NuCanoe has that solved as their stern drive will fit on all of the kayaks they make & they all have square transom's.
I have one of the Lifetime Yukons I bought new on sale for $400. Same length and right around the same weight. I really like it. I dont see any need for another kayak unless I go to a pedal drive.
Gosh I wish that hole going through the back platform would have stayed in the final design, figuring out a mounting option I like for a motor is freaking impossible without doing massive modifications to the hull :L as you have no way of getting your hand inside to place a washing and nut without cutting and installing a dryhatch. At least with the prototype hole I could have fed some tooling rod through and made a wood clamp for a transom board. Otherwise this would be the perfect setup to make for my dad's b-day
It’s not $699 anymore. Went up to $729 and the thing isn’t even out yet . Delayed by several months . Something’s gotta be wrong . Looks like a great kayak but that extra high seating worries me re: stability . Really disappointed they couldn’t keep it under $700 as advertised . Yeah it’s just $30 more but something is up. Production or design problems ?
Reason I asked is because I'm getting ready to make a purchase. Its between the Jackson Bite angler and the crescent lite tackle. I'm kind of leaning toward the Bite because I'm gonna be in skinny water most the time and like the space, but I want the Crescent because its more versatile.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That one was pretty sweet too
I have a Perception. This looks great! $699 and 70 lbs that's great.
Pelican owns perception now? Is Johnson outdoors still molding them?
Can you do a review on this. I’m wondering if that high seat will be ok
I really hope you get to demo this kayak. That high seat is interesting.

@@AliexFolgueira if you had the option of going with this boat or the old town topwater 106(non pdl), which would you choose?
This is to much for me lol, I'll go simpler with the 106 Topwater
Looks like a great kayak my favorite paddle only kayak
