I like your motor set up. I am watching different vids to get a idea how I want to do mine when I get it and what size motor I should get for my Perception Outlaw 11.5
New subscriber here. I just bought this kayak yesterday and excited about making modifications to it. I do some cad and 3d printing and thinking about the stuff I can make. Good looking yak! Tight lines from nw Indiana
Thanks for posting this, I've been waiting to see somebody rig a motor on the Outlaw since I bought mine, that's going to be a future project. Great work!
I have the same Yak. Can you please do a video showing the measurements etc, of your PVC Dolly that you made. It looks really good and I have been searching for a good design for a Outlaw 11.5
@@TheJcdm327 there wasnt a problem with the angle of the transducer. it looked like it wouldnt be straight when i assembled mine. would love it if you could attach a pic of it after
Hey man I have the same kayak and just got them same fish finder for Christmas but can’t figure out how to install it becsuse of all the wires are yours all visible or are they hidden in a box or something
The transducer wire comes up through the scupper hole into a Harbor Freight amo box where the battery is. I've also mounted the Striker on top of the box. The box is secured to the accessory mount with 3/4" pvc. Wire exposures is minimal. I tired mounting the fish finders closer to the seat but it was in the way and hard to see.
The battery didn't fit before. It does now. It was one reason for raising the seat but not the major reason. I've since abandoned the idea of battery under the seat idea. Even though the kayak is 0.3 mph faster with it under there it causes more problems than it solves. The battery is in the milk crate behind the seat. Now I can reach all my stuff I need while I fish.
What is the mount you used for the garmin and the transducer? I got this kayak and I'm probably gonna get the garmin and I am curious on ways to mount it. Thanks
I don't know. Don't hold your breath. If I get time I might work something out. There's a guy who saw my video and he is using yoga pads to raise his seat. Still waiting for pictures.
You need to have someone make you a L bracket(aluminum) for you motor mount and attach a 2x4 where the 4x4 is and get rid of that 4x4. Same concept. It will sure up your motor mount. Then attach a handle to the back of the mount. Easier to lift the boat to slide your cart.
Thanks for the advice. I like the handle idea. I have changed the cart since the video so it's not a problem big problem. The kayak is basically on the cart, in the bed of truck or on the water. Having to lift the back is rare.
Whats the point of a kayak with a trolling motor? I dont get you guys who do this and never will. You want a motor buy a john boat. Unless you have ailments to keep you from paddling i find it hilarious ppl are so damn lazy to just paddle, which is what a kayak is for.
Interesting improvements, Good Job, Thank you J M.
I store my paddle in the double barrel rod holders when not in use

Pretty cool, I would have just tethered the seat to the kayak rather than all the pool noodles but it works

Excellent modes, keep going, i got the same kayak too, starting to do some mods waiting for the items to make that happen...

Thank you for the video. I just purchased one yesterday in San Antonio at Academy Sports. I can't wait to start using it.
Just bought mine today. Headed to Canyon Lake tomorrow!
Heyyyy I’ve got the same kayak... and the same truck 😂😂😂
How did you mount the transducer
I used the mount that came with the unit. I did use longer stainless screws however.

Nice job! Really good job. When standing, is it relatively stable?
Thanks.
It's a very stable kayak. Any instability is my fault. I'm not as nimble and athletic as I once was.

love all the mods, gonna steal a few. did the battery fit under the seat before you raised it or is that why?

why did you switch from the pecador 10 pro to the Outlaw?
Main reason is stability. I'm not the athlete I once was.
Try the super strong lock tight for the mounts.
Do you think it would affect side imaging attaching the transducer in the bottom of the hull where they have the cut out.
I don't have any experience with side imaging to answer your question.
what kind of Nuts was it
About 11:56.... did anyone see that mouse jump outa his boat...! Lol
that or a shadow of a bird
Funny. I think it is a bird's shadow.
I’m interested in your seat raisers, do you think I could buy a set from you? Thanks!

I love this kayak! Check out this alternative to the overly expensive perception saddle bags! ruclips.net/video/hcfCnn0l96w/видео.html
Would you be interested in building another cart for cash?
Sorry.

Kayaks are smaller and lighter than john boats. Trolling motor makes it go faster than paddling. Small boat, go fast, trolling motor kayak.
..You don't get much do you?
The Karen of the Kayaks. Don't worry about it. It's made for that option. So why not use it?
