Hi, very nice explanation. At 49:30 you mention that Active Harmonic Filter (AHF) can be used, however, earlier on the video at 33:50 you mentioned that AHF cannot be used for reducing THDV. Could you please explain that? Thanks!
yes thats true because Active filters are used to resolve current harmonics resulted from the customers load. Voltage harmonics are mostly caused by current harmonics. The voltage provided by the voltage source will be distorted by current harmonics due to source impedance. If the source impedance of the voltage source is small, current harmonics will cause only small voltage harmonics. so in order to filter the Voltage harmonics they usually use passive and active filters together
