these things are kind of a pain in the butt to make if you dont have good or decent tools xD. it takes me about 32 hours to make just one of these, so two days. so i can definitely understand the pricing for these! i use PC hardware in these though when i make them for people, because i have like an infinite amount of pc hardware in my garage xD. GOOD JOB THOUGH (:
Tip for everyone the instruction number nine it says to put the plexiglass on before the buttons they probably should be moved up to one or two and definitely put your plexiglass on before you screw in all your buttons and fuses
So If I was to mount a micro atx motherboard would I need some special standoffs or can it be mounted directly to the case with something like short wood screws. The more expensive route would be to get a motherboard tray and screw that into the case and the motherboard into the tray.
you probably dont care but if you're stoned like me atm you can watch pretty much all of the latest movies on instaflixxer. Have been watching with my girlfriend these days =)
damn this is an awesome video! good job! makes me want to buy the kit from you but i enjoy the diy part. its a good hobby. i will share this with people who want to do this.
The control panel now easily hinges open so you can access that as well as the controls. In addition, one you have it set to on, it will turn on every time you give it power by default.
I'm not sure if you're familiar with Killer Instinct but do you sell the controls for that style of arcade? I think Happ made them but I'm not sure what they're called. Midway seemed to use all the same buttons and joysticks around the MK and KI days.
Dumb question: How do you turn the pi on/off? I am looking at building one. I got a good understanding of everything thats required and the wiring, but not sure how to turn it off without just unplugging it.
+Brian Hamilton I press the start button on the button panel and do a shutdown so everything goes down gracefully. Then I click of the power strip. When I turn the power strip back on, everything boots back up immediately.
+GameRoomSolutions.com The start button on the button panel, is that a button you have wired to your controller? I have been doing some reading that just unplugging it may erase the SD card memory. I was not going down like that, but am just trying to figure out the options for powering on/off. Hopefully something simple. Im trying to reduce the chance of me destroying everything haha. Thanks for the info.
I shut down the same way, using the retropie shutdown command. The pi3 also has a set of holes on the board labeled "run". If you solder a momentary pushbutton to it, it will turn the raspberry pi.
Yes, we have a generic email with psd templates, setup, and RPI images. You use a 3.5mm audio cable from pi to small amp, then speaker wire to speakers. Monitor, computer, tmolding, led light strip for marquee area, amp, speakers.
How are you going to do the joysticks? Screw it to board underneath? Sanwa joysticks are short so we route under the board for proper height not leaving much wood to screw into (
GameRoomSolutions.com Underneath would have been a much cleaner approach. Just seems like an unnecessary eye sore... Other than that it's probably one the best kits out there. Sorry if I offended you.
GameRoomSolutions.com The only thing that I’m not a fan of & yeah it’s probably minor but the lower bracket piece that holds the marquee in place looks like crap with those two screw heads sticking out and how most marquees don’t fully fit in it properly. Like a good portion of the marquee artwork is blocked by these brackets
Ur2ez4me81 look at the revised 3 version the marquee holder has no screws anymore, it’s hold in place by t molding. Also no hardware exposed on the unit anymore, besides two little screws in the back if you are using a switch socket.
i purchase those same arcade joysticks on ebay and im struggling with conf 1 and 2 player setup where can i get your image you put up? and can you put a video on how add kodi to emulation station the joysticks i purchase from ebay have grs set up guide.
Sweet Im the one that order on ebay and from Canada. Cant wait! I'll def do a video on it! Also when do I get access to psd for art template as Id like to get that done before it gets here! Thanks for everything!
Ok, so will this bartop arcade cab fit an ordinary ATX main board? Will it fit an standard size modern graphics card? (something like an GTX 780 or an 980 ti?)
i'm mostly interested in the 3d card addon to play games like Street fighter 4 ultra and street fighter 5 .. The last of witch is sort of demanding if you want to max out the settings :/
Hello, looking at your build I am very impressed and am leaning towards making an investment. My current question is: What would you recommend that would fit inside, if I were to go the Wintel route using Hyperspin? I figure its going to need a power supply, micro ATX, CPU, and RAM, but I would like to know what fits in your experience.
I used a microitx/slim power supply in this hyperspin build ruclips.net/video/dIZuUv5P71s/видео.html. Honestly I would just do a RPI3 with 32gb microsd and call it good. Flash our provided image and it is plug and play.
Scott Barnett Fully assembled, it would be a bitch. I've thought about cutting holes in the bottom of my cabinet, directly below controls, to allow for easy servicing because it's really tight in that area.
The.Cliggster click on that link I provided on my last post to see what I'm talking about. Check the dimensions. Is there enough space next to the left joystick on the bartop for one of those top mount switchable restrictors to fit without hitting the left side panel?
I want to build this amazing arcade machine. The only thing is that I want to buy these items separately to save money. Can anyone help me list all the parts needed to build this including any softwares or programs if any? I'm new to these types of projects. Thanks
+GameRoomSolutions.com Thanks for the response, but restrictor gates you use for the 8 way sticks? Do you use square, octagonal or circular gates? For some people that can be a big factor when it comes to playing fighting games.
Hi...what s the shipping price to france for the 2 players arcade stick and the bartop please... One is approximatly 290 dollars and the other 460dollarq
Cool. Can you make it with the coin/start button on top control panel like the deluxe version has? I noticed there wasn't an option for that version...
Is it possible to have the cabinet with the arcade buttons and also x2 USB ports on the front for USB controllers (i.e a snes controller ? So you can switch between the arcade controls and a controller ?
If you plan on using a PC for guts, you could install a USB Bluetooth dongle inside the cab (about $5), and then opt for Bluetooth controllers. This way, no modification of the cab, for USB ports, would be required. If you choose to go with a Raspberry Pi for guts, get the Pi 3, which has built-in Bluetooth, and would not require a USB dongle.
Just bought a Marquee print from you guys. It's absolutely perfect! Thank you!
Ready to ship cabinets..excellent. Can I have a few alterations if I want? Like fan in the back, side buttons for pinball-type games etc..
Not going to lie. For me, the hardest part is putting that plexiglass screen in. I was afraid it would snap. This video helped a lot.
Do not do the plex like the video. Best to put it in while the left side is off, then it goes into place as you put the left side on.
Very nice video and fun to watch. Have a nice day.

I just put mine together, looks great. Time to order some controls.
+Steve Williamson Please send me a picture through our website as I would love to see it.
just received my 4 player controls but there are no instructiosn, where i can get those?
How do you control the volume? do you or can you add headphone jacks?
Hi How thick is the joystick / push button knobs bored (wood) thank you.

@Morgan Colton Yup, been using InstaFlixxer for since december myself :D
Thanks

+Danny Corona Appreciate the support.
How do you make the mount for the monitor? Also what is the measurement for the marque boards between the top and bottom?
is there a cabinet for playing games like robotron 2084,splat,total carnage and smash tv because those games use 2 joysticks?
I am unsure of the demand for something like that would be since it is a much smaller niche. I will put it on the roadmap review.
How do you turn on the monitor once you put the plex over the power button?
The control panel now easily hinges open so you can access that as well as the controls. In addition, one you have it set to on, it will turn on every time you give it power by default.
How well does this guide apply to the 19 inch model?
Here is one for the 19" ruclips.net/video/l_MzKEJ2iUQ/видео.html
hi boss. Which you using usb encoder this project ?
I'm not sure if you're familiar with Killer Instinct but do you sell the controls for that style of arcade? I think Happ made them but I'm not sure what they're called. Midway seemed to use all the same buttons and joysticks around the MK and KI days.
+A FATAL ERR0R They are typically called "bat" style joysticks. Right now we do sanwa style or led only.
Hi guys,do you use a 3/4 panel or 1/2 panels??
Dumb question: How do you turn the pi on/off? I am looking at building one. I got a good understanding of everything thats required and the wiring, but not sure how to turn it off without just unplugging it.

question...what are the 4 buttons at front of the cabinet for? Pause exit etc?
+Petros Petridenas On RPI setups typicically exit - mode (hotkey) - Start - Play; on HyperSpin Exit - Fav - Pause - Play
nice Video man!
Appreciate it.
This kit looks amazing but I'm reluctant to order over the 4 screws under each stick. Is there any other kits without this?
How are you going to do the joysticks? Screw it to board underneath? Sanwa joysticks are short so we route under the board for proper height not leaving much wood to screw into (
GameRoomSolutions.com Underneath would have been a much cleaner approach. Just seems like an unnecessary eye sore... Other than that it's probably one the best kits out there. Sorry if I offended you.
No your right, I agree with it being an eye sore but my main criticism would be that the screws would feel annoying while playing.
I'm wondering about this, too. The screws don't look good. Do the screws feel annoying while playing?
Hmmmm,... ! Seems solid Rock stuff. !!!
Do you make cabinets that hold larger monitors? What brand monitor is that?
Our full size unit holds a 32". This is the largest for our bartops.
Can you guys do a tutorial on how to put in a micro atx/itx pc?
Yes. I did a video when building my last one, but have not had time to edit it. Please subscribe and you will see it come through.
Whst about games that have guns. And ball spins?
Would this work just as well with a Raspberry Pi 4?
They recently released a version of Retropi running Buster for the Pi 4. Should be fine and is what I am using in my build.
Can you provide a link for a monitor
amzn.to/2CMTBBT
Could you fit a 15” laptop inside the case?
Yes.
what do u recommened for bartop arcade - zippy, sanwa or happ ? any main difference in them ?
+Asim Ullah I like sanwa the best. Very smooth. Zippyys are good, just the generic of sanwa.
I would love to get one of these, I would make it a MK 2 style bar top. These have to be better quality than 1up arcade right?
Yes, these are .75" quality wood. The 1up is .5" plywood. Newest version here ruclips.net/video/az1JxChGqHI/видео.html

+james mondin Hi James, contact us through the website. Thanks!
Any tips on mounting the speakers?
+Andrew Barranco I just screw then directly to the monitor board, but make sure not to go through the front of the panel..
What size molding how many feet you think good? Just ordered this delux kit!
Thank you for your order! Get 20' of 3/4"
Sweet Im the one that order on ebay and from Canada. Cant wait! I'll def do a video on it! Also when do I get access to psd for art template as Id like to get that done before it gets here! Thanks for everything!
Why is there not a video for the basic cabinet
It has been updated and is basically the same. Instructions here... gameroomsolutions.com/install
Ok, so will this bartop arcade cab fit an ordinary ATX main board? Will it fit an standard size modern graphics card? (something like an GTX 780 or an 980 ti?)
It would be tight. I did a mini-itx, slim power supply, 2.5/3.5 hard drives, and it fit about perfectly. ruclips.net/video/dIZuUv5P71s/видео.html
i'm mostly interested in the 3d card addon to play games like Street fighter 4 ultra and street fighter 5 .. The last of witch is sort of demanding if you want to max out the settings :/
AND mortal Kombat/Mortal Kombat x/the new Killer instinkt of course ;P
for a plug & play, could cabinet plywood be an option? instead of MDF.
No. We do not paint which would have to happen with plywood.
and i don't do MDF.

Thanks, I have purchased a RPI3 adn am playing around with it before I buy the cabinet. Should be soon.
the octagonal piece for Sanwa joystick is included in the kit?
yes
how hard is it to switch the joysticks between 4-way and 8-way in that cabinet?
Scott Barnett Fully assembled, it would be a bitch. I've thought about cutting holes in the bottom of my cabinet, directly below controls, to allow for easy servicing because it's really tight in that area.
Have you ever seen these top mount switchable restrictors? Would one of those fit on your bartop?
mameroom.com
Scott Barnett I dunno. Never heard of a top mount restrictor.
The.Cliggster click on that link I provided on my last post to see what I'm talking about. Check the dimensions. Is there enough space next to the left joystick on the bartop for one of those top mount switchable restrictors to fit without hitting the left side panel?
what size monitors fit/ Are the monitors still in their original case or is monitor taken apart and lcd/led is used (no casing another words)
22" led. This is the one we use most often amzn.to/2gOaou4
That links to a 24 inch, will this fit a 24?
I want to build this amazing arcade machine. The only thing is that I want to buy these items separately to save money. Can anyone help me list all the parts needed to build this including any softwares or programs if any? I'm new to these types of projects. Thanks
I forgot to mention... I would appreciate the list of all the parts needed only that I want it at the lowest cost possible. :-)
Everything you need is in our guts package. You can use that as your primary list.
Thanks and nice job on the vid... best tutorial I found.
Are the zippy joysticks easier to hook up (I'll be using a raspberry pi)?
Huddison they are all pretty much the same.
Yes thanks, I just watched your other video (detailed guide on setting up controls :). Does this ship worldwide?
Yes
What restrictor plates do yo use for the joysticks?
The joysticks come with it and can be 4 or 8 way. I typically do 8 way for 2 player builds.
+GameRoomSolutions.com Thanks for the response, but restrictor gates you use for the 8 way sticks? Do you use square, octagonal or circular gates? For some people that can be a big factor when it comes to playing fighting games.

is the system able to play Dreamcast games
Kevin N the raspberry pi cannot handle dreamcast
Hi, do you sell the same kit but for a 19-20" 4:3 square monitor?
yes gameroomsolutions.com/shop/bartop-arcade-kit/
Cool. Can you make it with the coin/start button on top control panel like the deluxe version has? I noticed there wasn't an option for that version...
There isnt a lot of room for that, but we have the 8 button panel that does the same thing.
Is the 4:3 bartop control panel smaller than the deluxe cabinet?
Yes. One is like 6" and the other is like 8", I think off hand.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. Send us a note through the site.
I'm going to make a bar top cabinet,I'm going through different designs and ways to operate, I'm thinking to run it off of a raspberry pi
+Gostcut Gaming It is a good economical choice. Both in space and price.
+GameRoomSolutions.com with your kit, is there mounting holes for a pi or would I have do that
+Gostcut Gaming You just us pcb feet and mount it where you want in the cabinet. I mount my on the bottom near the back door.
Do you ship to the UK?
