It’s so interesting to watch the demons come out when someone makes a comment like this. They literally can’t stand the light. It’s like kryptonite or garlic to a vampire. They have to make a negative comment that has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with what you said and back away. You notice they can’t just say whatever negative things they have to say on their own comment. It’s the angry response in their head that is triggered by a lovely comment. So interesting to study this dynamic of light and darkness. It is like Superman.

He was exceptionally suited for the role. Spectacularly good looking , great physique and an enormously intelligent man with a deep knowledge of flight physics being an accomplished pilot himself. As an adult I completely understand the backlash Superman 3 received, but I still love every moment of it! My dad took my sister and I to see this when I was in kindergarten, it was my first introduction to Richard Pryor, and have loved him in everything I've watched him in ever since, movies or stand up, he was amazing! And my first traumatizing experience was watching Vera turn violently into a robot, that stuff sticks with you! Also the fight between Clark Kent and drunk Superman is beyond epic! I enjoy it just as much as the first 2 theatrical releases, nothing will ever change that!

Put me down for 3, born in '82 and first discovered & witnessed all 3 Superman movies by age 3 and grew up loving & watching them hundreds of times as a kid, and yes I love superman 3 just as much as I love the first 2, and the Clark vs Superman scene in the junkyard is one of the best Supe scenes ever filmed. And when Clark pulls open his shirt to reveal the S still gives me goosebumps just like the scene where he ask Zod, would you care to step outside..

I’m old enough to have seen both this and Star Wars back when they first released. Superman made a much bigger impression on me and remains my favourite movie to this day. One thing that sets it apart from Star Wars and even the Superman sequels is that it’s not written for kids. As a kid I loved it too, but it has mature characters and dialogue. That means the even if the effects have dated, the core of the movie still works. I like the others too, but they need a bit of nostalgia to enjoy, where the original movie is just a genuinely great piece of cinema.

The fourth film I think i watched once, and didn't care for. Great video - I worked on the Canadian (Smallville/desert/missile convoy) scenes. We shot for 6 weeks without doing a scene with Reeve! We shot parts of the 2nd film as well (as was the plan) but it was not finished by Donner - only because the producers were TOTAL DICKS. Donner was the consummate pro despite insane levels of pressure and NO support. They were trying to make him quit because they owed Richard Lester a directing gig after he sued them for cutting THE 3 MUSKETERS into 2 movies, but paid everyone for ONE!

This is a hot take but those early DC movies didn’t do for comic book movies what everyone claims. Between Superman 1-4 no other big superhero properties got made. Superman was born, thrived and died all over the course of about a decade and comic book movies kind of did with it. Then Batman in 89. Again between Batman 1-4 no other big superhero properties were made. Batman was born thrived and then died with no imitators along the way. But when X-men came out, all the big Marvel heroes started getting movies. Also I’m aware Blade came before X-men but as a guy who was about 13 when that came out, no one even knew that was a superhero movie at the time. At least the vast majority didn’t. That was just a vampire movie.

Cavill had all the tools for a great Superman, but the direction and tone given for him was just bollocks, just not fitting for the character. That's why the Synder verse was just a brooding disjointed mess. Superman is all about HOPE, bringing out the good, best, and brightest in humanity, along with the courage to face, endure and overcome all the negatives. Something the George Reeves and Christopher Reeve versions of Superman perfectly captured, unlike the dark, moody and brooding fest tone of the later movies.

Ummm.... hate to tell you, but there IS gravity in space. You are thinking that there is no gravity while in orbit, because you're free falling in a "circle" around the Earth.

About 40 minutes in, speaking of the supe3 villian, surely I wasn't the only kid to see him as comic equivalent of Turner/Trump of the 80s.

I think it was somewhat intentional. I imagine he was kind of a Warren Buffet satire.

Unbelievable they got anything done with all the back ground fighting and suings. Sad how it went downhill after Superman 2. A waste of Christopher Reeve.

It’s a toss up really between Superman 3 and 4 as the worst Superman movie. But at least 3 didn’t have Superman’s power where he rebuilds the Great Wall of China with his heat vision. Where in hell did that come from. They could’ve easily have a blurring super speed effect to represent the visual that Superman was using super speed to repair the Great Wall but they had to use that power he uses his eyes to repair stuff 😅😅😅 but I guess that was my one and only issue with Superman 4. It’s just cringy as f. But good thing they cut out the neanderthal nuclear man. That would’ve been ridiculous

It doesn't matter that the bully didn't remember Clark! If he wouldn't have swung first at the second meeting Clark would have walked away.
