Very good thank you, it is very easy to replace the generator. I did not expected

Great video 🙂. Really helped me diagnose a faulty stator on my Tiger '955, and helped me getting the cover off - cheers 😉

Very helpful. I'm probably going to have to replace the stator on my bike, so seeing how to get in to it is always good.

Very helpful and clear. Thank you. My Triple is getting the same treatment: -0V out ALL the pins, so the cover is coming off. I look forward to the mess that awaits.

"You might want to use a mallet or a block of wood & Tap lightly but hey don't listen to me I'm not a mechanic" that was funny 😃

Good that you found the fault. However your output voltage testing method is not 100% correct.
The correct method is to measure the voltage between pairs of the 3 wires (1 to 2, 2 to 3 and 3 to 1).
This is because the stator has no connection to ground / battery negative - the only connection to the battery negative is via the regulator, which is not connected as you have unplugged it.
You might not have seen the voltage difference using your method, testing between pairs of wires ensures you will always see any output voltage difference.
This is not a criticism; it's just that it might help someone else.
You can also static test the continuity (resistance) of the 3 windings of the stator, by unplugging the stator and measuring between pairs of the 3 wires (1 to 2, 2 to 3 and 3 to 1) in each case there should be a low resistance (less than 10 ohms). If any are high resistance = faulty winding. Likewise measure the resistance from each of the 3 wires to battery negative they should all be high resistance, low resistance = faulty winding insulation.

Thank you. This has helped me test it without having the bike on

I had almost exactly the same result after testing my '02 955i sprint!
Cant triumph manage to produce a more reliable electrical charging system? they've been doing it long enough now!...
looking forward to getting my fingers trapped in the cases by the magnets this weekend!.

I’ve a Tiger 1050, I’m replacing my stator when the new gasket arrives. The Haynes manual isnt very clear on whether you need to drain and replace the oil when doing this. Says if the bike is on a side stand you do, doesn’t say if you should if it’s on the centre. Clearly you didn’t drain yours before removal?

Hey Friend 👋 Please help 🙏 😢 I have the 2004 model and yesterday at some point during my ride i noticed a deference in the facionality of the motor. It started to sound a bit different, more like it didn't have enough power to run properly and especially when I opened the throttle for a bit the engine made a weird knocking sound 😳 for whatever reason. It used to work just fine before yesterday. No rattlings, no other stuff, it had an issue with the DPS and the battery, I immediately replaced them with new ones last month. The bike has a new battery, new oils 🛢 and it didn't have any other worrying signs when it comes to the engine. Please share if you don't mind. Thanks.

Why is this a big failure in Triumph bikes (I own 1050 2012 (never again).
