For some reason this French series is the best thing I've ever seen, I've watched both series three times, I can't watch it a fourth time that would be absurd!

Think I had a DVD of series 1, watched it on Netflix a lot, but it's not there now, don't know if you can get it on Sundance.
@Bella Bells Do you mean Camille's sister Lena with parents driving? I don't really remember that, but I remember various scenes, and it's all fairly symbolic about the future of Victor and Nathan, and the people who have returned, and their families. It seems to parallel some of the Christian story, Nathan is left on a random doorstep by Simon and Adele for instance, but I don't want to do any spoilers for you, it's a real shame your DVD stopped.
@Bella Bells I think you can buy the final episode on amazon prime at the moment quite cheaply, but if you're not going to see it again, it's good to read "The Returned Finale Recap" by Ariana Bacle, she explains the events and how to interpret them, quite well.
It's definitely a nice show I'm at season 1 episode 5 some suggestions dark(german) gomorrah (italian) 30 coins (spanish) & frontera verde(portuguese) if you haven't watched em give em a try they are also fantastic shows
Okay, let me get this straight. I realize Les Revenants (The French version) is the original. Netflix did a US English version for season 1, which I loved, and left us with tons of unanswered questions and cliffhangers and cancelled it like a bunch of assholes. But Les Revenants continued on so there is a second season of The Returned, in French with English subtitles, but the French and English versions are different therefore if you continue on with The Returned season 2 you should just forget the American version even existed and start the original French version at season 1 and watch it all over in French with English subtitles? I want to work on my French anyway so that's fine. But fuck Netflix for not continuing the American version in English.
That's because the English version sucked. A pale imitation of the much better original.

The French one is definitely the best by a long way, but the American one is OK, I couldn't finf anything to watch for a long time after les Revenants

So let me get this strait...season 1 ended with way too many unanswered questions like there was definitely going to be a sequal, like wtf!?!? But season 2 has nothing to do with continuing season 1!?!? If this is correct this is just stupid. I want to know what happened to the town, what happened to the girls the guy in jail the lady who just got married..talk about frustrating

If you're talking about the American one, this isn't continuing off of that, it's continuing off of the French version.

just watch the french version. Entire show is copied off the French one with a couple name changes. American version is terrible compared to original French one.

The American version with 10 episodes is cancelled. There is no ending. The original Frensh version is complete and has 16 episodes.

Season 2 might be on netflix next year. Just watch/download S2 on the web for now. English subtitles. This is one of my fav shows, next to breaking bad and homeland. I don't mind foreign language shows/movies as long as the acting is excellent
