    Based on what a comment here said, I had thought this piece would be stereotypical orientalism for its era. Not so much! An enjoyable listen, and a nice mix of elements from the east and west.

      i can see why you'd say that but i'm hesitant to immediately label it "racist"
      are these pieces a western filtering of eastern music? yes, certainly
      do they, as a result, lose out on some specific eastern musical idioms? probably
      does that automatically make it racist, given the western classical tradition's issues with orientalism? that's up to you to decide
