It hits different cause vageta just went through some life changing shit. He no longer cares about himself or his race as much as he cares about his friends.
Goku = pure hearted badass
Vegeta = badass jerk with a heart of gold
Kid buu = YOOOOHOHOHOHO
Vegeta is one of the best written characters ever and goku's pure heart complements their friendship.
Tori ama doesn't like vegeta truly a shame and pretty much ruined Goku in super. Z is peak shoulda ended at Buu saga.

@@QuasarKen009 bro name better rivals than these og warriors. Naruto and Sasuke or Luffy and Zoro are amazing rivals/duos but they just dont hit the same as Goku and Vegeta in my opinion. The only close or just as good duo/rival i can think of is Ash and Pikachu.
@@KalaBandor786 I know you just mentioned them but I'm also taking into account how the whole series started out and ended with there rivalry. Naruto and Sasuke is iconic. If you try shouting one of there names angrily you have to shout the others in response haha.

Vegeta was already dead, if you die while dead, you cease to exist.
If he had died there, then he would be actually dead. One of the fights in db that had real weight to it.

DBS manga really highlights this stuff too. People can complain about the anime or even the manga but their vibe together is fantastic there.

This is why I like Vegeta he kept playing like he didn’t give a shit after the cell saga but he does care and he was monster taught to love. He’s a hard ass but he’s not heartless
I still remember how the first time I saw the Buu saga, I legit cried at the final fight against pure buu 😂. I was legit worried they forreal were about to permanently kill off Vegeta.

@@slawton17People often dont know that Vegeta was supposed to have ended Buu. SSJ3 wasnt a thing when Toriayma wrote the Goku/Vegeta Battle. Shame they couldnt have stopped it there, or written it a bit different.
@@gaigegrosskreutzmissingbic5591 I don't think vegeta was meant to end buu, it would have been a very short season and they was clearly showing Gohan to be the one with special power despite falling behind over the years. Why build him up for nothing.
I'm not saying I wouldn't have liked that ending with vegeta taking out buu. It sounds badass. Vegeta is one of my favourites if not the favourite.

both of them became peak men in dbz especially vegeta ,no cap.
Vegeta has developed from an anxious antisocial traumatized sociopath to a true fearless hero.
He literally beat an opponent whos impossible to defeat. He's a true warrior and an example of priceless inspiration.
Goku played a major role in this too.
Both of them are PERFECTLY written characters.. (although in Super you might argue about Goku)

This was a great moment in Dragon Ball Z. Super reverted their friendship a bit in the anime, but at least they have not gotten rid of it entirely. As rivals they do make a great team and should always be friends after everything they have gone through

Goku has pretty much always been the same - Standing up for what he thinks is right and fight to protect. No surprises, just a noble being.
But Vegeta with his pride, his might, the fury and history as a destroyer of worlds - getting his redemption, getting his family and the unbreaking will to protect he develops after being with Goku and still always pushing each other to their limits reaching for more. This is what makes this show so great.
