- Saturday evening drive in Zion National Park, the 4th most visited national park in America. I've wanted to record more national parks for a long time now. I think 360 video is perfect for this. Let me know in the comments what you think? Any other feedback as well, let me know!
Route: goo.gl/maps/xoMvmpGaXJJTvTRTA .
Zion National Park, one of 6,555 national parks worldwide, is an American national park located in southwestern Utah. Zion National Park includes mountains, canyons, buttes, mesas, monoliths, rivers, slot canyons, and natural arches, represent 150 million years of mostly Mesozoic-aged sedimentation. Numerous plant species as well as 289 species of birds, 75 mammals (including 19 species of bat), and 32 reptiles inhabit the park's four life zones: desert, riparian, woodland, and coniferous forest. A prominent feature of the 229-square-mile (590 km2) park is Zion Canyon, which is 15 miles (24 km) long and up to 2,640 ft (800 m) deep. The canyon walls are reddish and tan-colored Navajo Sandstone eroded by the North Fork of the Virgin River. The lowest point in the park is 3,666 ft (1,117 m) at Coalpits Wash and the highest peak is 8,726 ft (2,660 m) at Horse Ranch Mountain. Located at the junction of the Colorado Plateau, Great Basin, and Mojave Desert regions, the park has a unique geography and a variety of life zones that allow for unusual plant and animal diversity.
The geology of the Zion and Kolob canyons area includes nine formations that together represent 150 million years of mostly Mesozoic-aged sedimentation. At various periods in that time warm, shallow seas, streams, ponds and lakes, vast deserts, and dry near-shore environments covered the area. Uplift associated with the creation of the Colorado Plateau lifted the region 10,000 feet (3,000 m) starting 13 million years ago.
Human habitation of the area started about 8,000 years ago with small family groups of Native Americans, one of which was the semi-nomadic Basketmaker Anasazi (c. 300 CE). Subsequently, the Virgin Anasazi culture (c. 500) and the Parowan Fremont group developed as the Basketmakers settled in permanent communities. Both groups moved away by 1300 and were replaced by the Parrusits and several other Southern Paiute subtribes. Mormons came into the area in 1858 and settled there in the early 1860s. In 1909, President William Howard Taft named the area Mukuntuweap National Monument in order to protect the canyon. In 1918, the acting director of the newly created National Park Service, Horace Albright, drafted a proposal to enlarge the existing monument and change the park's name to Zion National Monument, Zion being a term used by the Mormons. On November 19, 1919, Congress redesignated the monument as Zion National Park, and the act was signed by President Woodrow Wilson. The Kolob section was proclaimed a separate Zion National Monument in 1937, but was incorporated into the national park in 1956.

A national park is a park in use for conservation purposes, created and protected by national governments. Often it is a reserve of natural, semi-natural, or developed land that a sovereign state declares or owns. Although individual nations designate their own national parks differently, there is a common idea: the conservation of 'wild nature' for posterity and as a symbol of national pride.
An international organization, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and its World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA), has defined "National Park" as its Category II type of protected areas. According to the IUCN, 6,555 national parks worldwide met its criteria in 2006. IUCN is still discussing the parameters of defining a national park.
While this type of national park had been proposed previously, the United States established the first "public park for the benefit and enjoyment of the people", Yellowstone National Park, in 1872. Although Yellowstone was not officially termed a "national park" in its establishing law, it was always termed such in practice and is widely held to be the first and oldest national park in the world. However, the Tobago Main Ridge Forest Reserve (established in 1776), and the area surrounding Bogd Khan Uul Mountain (1778) are seen as the oldest legally protected areas, predating Yellowstone by nearly a century.
National parks are almost always open to visitors.

The whole state of Utah is wildly scenic, with ever changing landscapes. Zion, Arches and Canyonlands national parks are all phenomenal places to visit.

I've been watching a number of travel driving videos lately, and this one is so enjoyable because it's normal speed, no music soundtrack, and lets the scenery be the star. For some reason, I've never seen much about Zion National Park and I'm just floored at how incredible this place is. I'll probably never get to go there, so thank you for doing this and sharing this.
Went Bryce Canyon ZIon national park 2 weeks ago. It was one of hell of trip. Loved it

Simply beautiful! Drove semis trucks cross country for 14 years and loved seeing our country!
Fantastic scenic drive video! No music, just soaking in the natural beauty!
Being from GA having only traveled the east coast, I didn't know anything about the park until a planned drive to GCNP North Rim from Vegas for my 50th b'day. Checked a map for what appeared to be scenic routes and chose this one. Not only did it fail to disappoint, but I was mesmerized! I was seriously moved to tears at points of the incredible beauty here!
I'm kinda glad I "stumbled" upon it. I think it made the awe so much more intense. It is seriously a majestic place that I have every intention of returning to one day.
Again, beautiful job creating a "real feel" video of the drive. I ❤it!!
Oh, I meant to thank you for including the route link in the description! Very helpful for those wondering which entrance you took. I feel like each side of the tunnel has a different "energy". 😄
Went thru the park driving during a snow storm and it was one of the most epic experiences of my life
Beautiful video. Pretty much every channel uploading "scenic drive" videos has at least one from Zion National Park, but this is the first one I saw that shows the touristy stuff in front of the park, giving more context and a better impression of what it would be like to be there.
I like that.
I visited Zion National Park in 2018 so I feel very well . Zion National Park is most beautiful place on the Earth......
When covered by snow, its so awesome like the scenery beyond Earth.
Omg..!! Simply superb place. Breathtaking..
The best videos about driving are here.I like very much that you don't put the music but let the real sound, also, that you post the driving in real time .Thank you!

It's wonderful to see how clean the highway is....no litter blowing beside the road...wish we could keep all of America clean like this.
Long long times ago , I have been there, it's amazing place...

The route is quite amazing; visiting for adventure sports makes it more exciting.
Oh Wow! this was amazing. The views were jaw dropping. Now i really want to do a proper full on road trip in the US in the future.
We have many beautiful places just like this is..
Very beautiful national park ZION
Terribly beautiful!
only here once back in the 80's. With a summer camp returning to campsite (just passed the guard shack) on a flatbed truck with 51 other kids. When we turned off the road into the campsite the water in the 1000g water tank (less then half full) caused the truck to roll over tossing all of us onto the road. I will never forget that. I was surprised by the amount of help that arrived, and the ride to the hospital, 100 or so miles away. i will go back some day, it is beautiful area.
Great looking scenery. Would be a dream to visite that part of the States one day
Sometime in the future i am going to do a road trip through all of these Beautiful american roads. Especially route 66
A few hours by Zion has so many Parks. Arches is an hour way. It’s Amazing there as well. Antelope Canyons are under ground tour and can only tour by advance booking. About $50 per person. Bryce Canyon is 6 hours away I think. Hose Shoes Bends. OMG I can’t name them but just google search National parks I. south west Utah and you be surprised!!! They are at least 8-10 just hours within. You need at least 10 days to see all parks
Que paisagem fantástica.

Thanks so much for this video of my favorite place on earth. I drove through that tunnel with no lights on! It was a rental car and I couldn't find them. :-)
Espetácular, tudo avermelhado. Uma natureza incrível.
The wife and I went a year ago, so nice and we enjoyed every moment of it, also went over to Bryce Canyon when we were there. I remember eating several of those Bumbleberry pies ...thx for the nostalgic memories.
Thank you so much for taking me on a Awesomely Wonderful experience
Thank you for sharing the beauty of Zion! It's definitely a "must see" park! 👍
Wow, that's one of the most amazing landscapes I've ever seen
I'm considering renting the wildly expensive $15,000 USD Insta360 11K Titan camera to film more national parks, both in the US and abroad. 11K quality is roughly 1080p quality in 360 degrees, as far as I know. What do you all think? Let me know if you would be interested or would consider buying a VR headset like the Oculus Quest 2 to view this type of content. Thank you for your feedback!
Парк шикарный! Размер и величие потрясают!!!
Wonderful place! Congratulations for wonderful video!
completely awestruck by this natural beauty.. what a magical world we live in :)
What an amazing drive! The place is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing this video :)
I really enjoy that you include so much more of the journey.... Like going through town and then following all the way to 89. Very cool...
So mesmerising 😍 The beauty took my breath away, I can't handle it 😩 Have to take my kids one day, wait til they are older so they can enjoy the experience. I dont think my 5 year old would like the long drives looking at scenery .. 😂 I was wondering, that stretch of highway (or scenic route) are there any toilets? 😂 As a Mum of 4, I'm just curious and I have to ask. Love from Australia 🇦🇺
Can you do the Grand Canyon? ☺️🙌😍🥰
